I was not skilled enough to make a tutorial in photoshop so I onenoted it and PDF ed it. ahha

but yeah in response to the previous poll about tutorials, I did the how to make a button one.

hmm the tutorial is more about How I make my buttons so this doesn't cover all methods.

My mom found one of my old sketch books today from 1999 and the drawing on the left was a little gem I found in there lol

I drew the one on the left at age 9 and the one on the right at age 19 last year. The first was drawn from my imagination with crayons and the second is of Hayley Williams and made with soft pastels.

So this is the 10 year progress I’ve made. and I hope to learn much more and grow as an artist!

No but really, being in artist alley was an awesome experience and I'm looking forward to do it again!>:3 Drawing commissions reminded me of the reason why I even started drawing on the first place :"D That's what I tried to convey in this comic. It always amazes me how a little drawing can make someone extremely happy and giddy! It's a beautiful mystery.

The events in this comic are based on real life of course, but I changed somethings cuz otherwise the comic would have dragged for too long. And of course people dont have cat ears in real life (though mine are dog ears). Thank you Carolina and her friend for helping me out! You guys the best!^^

The Yuna painting on the left I did in januar 2005 when I was 19. I did some artworks for my portfolio to get a place in a university at this time. When I see my old portfolio (I really get a study place with it!), than I really don't know why the take me. XD
I've had a lot fun learning in this school all this years.

2005 painting: It was the first time, I try to made such a big digital portrait. I do a pencil scetch before drawing (you can still see it). I had a smaller graphic tablet, use the photoshop 7 basic brushes and had problems with pointed modes. I really don't know why I failed at the eyes so much, tought I could have done it better... This is the part which annoy me most now.

2009 painting: I've much more experience with shading, colouring, proportions and the human face in general. In my second semester at university we had a great course how to draw portraits. We have to made around 20 drawings. Every in the size A2. That help me a lot, as well at handling references.

The reason why this picture took so long were those freaking neck & ponytail lace thingys!
The screenshot, which was my model, didn't have very high quality... So I had to figure them out by myself (= I don't like them). But that's the best I could make up... It looks kinda thick and.

I've never drawn beautiful lace. EVER.

Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + Nikon AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 G ED II lens + magnifying glass. The cherry was attached to a white Styrofoam piece with a sewing needle. The contraption was then submerged in a vase filled with seltzer water. The Styrofoam was a bit larger than the vase widthwise so that it would create greater tension and wouldn't float. A top from an old Fossil watch box was used as the background. The dark background caused glass scratches and imperfections to show. Increased contrast to make the scratches more visible. My sister likes to have unusual cakes at her birthday party. Ergo, this kind of weirdness... food (a cake) disguised as other food (a bowl of ramen). Everything on top is just plain frosting (and food coloring) except the chopsticks.

Here's a photo from last weekend, when we attended an event as a Naruto: Shippuuden group and went out for dinner afterwards in our costumes. Some kids we ran into actually thought I was the "real" Naruto, hahaha. Awww.

This is the result of my current obsession with Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto artbook, Uzumaki. I've had the scans for a while, but never fully appreciated the illustrations and the thoughts behind them until I got my hands on the actual book.

This shot, as well as my post-processing, was inspired by one of the Uzumaki artbook drawings of Naruto and Iruka having ramen at Ichiraku. I just wanted Team 7 (yes, including both Sasuke and Sai) doing something like bonding over dinner. I miss seeing them like that.

Please pardon the fact that some parts of our costumes are missing (like gloves and Sasuke's bracers). We really were having dinner, and it's rather troublesome to eat with all that stuff on. Here's to hoping that Yamato can join us next time! We'll need backup in case Kakashi gets drunk on sake again!

My 2nd 2D animation assignment.

We had to make a short animation based on a character that 'would not shut up'.

I was rushing my ass off to finish this so I stuck with my own crappy voice 'acting' (if you can call it such) that I had recorded for the animatic. I also had to edit my voice so it was a bit deeper on Audacity lol ;_;

I apologize for the horribly attempted asian accent and fail running/walking cycles (I missed out on the class where we learned it so I just took a stab at it fff.)

My family has a complicated history of separation, immigration, divorce, and remarriage. I won't go into the details but my mom often said to me "It's my life, my choice, I do what I want. You have no right to judge me."

I'm 18, but as a 9 year old child at the time, I couldn't repeat what she said. I could only wonder "Your choice in life affects me too."

Divorce is such a fad these days. Half the people I know have divorced parents, and most of them aren't happy about it. I understand in some situations divorce is the only way, but when your choice affects more than just you, think of the consequences and choose wisely.

With that said, I also wrote a short visual novel about the subject and an interactive narrative .

The Buff at UpFest '09

This was by far the biggest bitch of a piece I've had the fortune of painting so far. The technical skill required with this piece was way and above that of 'Dopeness Means Robots' just with the amount of individual scenes and techniques.

I had some fun in Bristol as part of UpFest '09, painting on a bar-slash-boat alongside some great people and good friends. I'll get pictures of other stuff up soon.

I forget how big the area was, around 8ft by 6ft (which, may I add, was 2ft wider than I had asked for), used over 70 stencils and spent a good 8-9 hours getting it all done. The buff marks were painted with masking tape stuck to the board, trimmed away appropriately and then sprayed on.

My favourite bit? The pigeon on the paint that's tipped over. Why? I've not a clue but it's just such a calm scene amongst a jumble of buffing and bustle.

In hindsight, I'd have focused the colour scheme much more, painted in a smaller area (or stenciled more buffers) and used a white colour instead of grey for the buff paint and figures' silhouettes.

It's safe to say I'm sick of and don't want to cut or spray any of my buffer characters for the time being.

It was a good day.

It was inevitable, here's the stamp, feel free to put it in your journal, shoutbox or wherever on DA you happen to put stamps. It would be apreciated if it would link back so others can find it.

So anyways, myself, along with what turned out to be hundreds of other angry anime artists are really... not pleased with how DA has been treating anime artists. I supose we've come a long ways from anime art being banned from the front page, but myself, along with many others, are tired of being told that our art is not art, it's just anime. The picture from this stamp for instance, is a fantacy drawing done in Anime style. But if we put it into the 'anime' catagory, it can't be fantacy, or macaber and horrer, or conceptual or have any meaning what so ever. It must go into 'drawings' its just a drawing. Even the DRAWINGs section of the REGULAR galleries have subcatagories. You wouldn't expect a photographer to put everything in 'photography' it has subject matter. It's dark, or conceptual or romantic or spontaniouse and all that jazz, and gets to have these catagories. THAT is why anime artists are so pissed with this new system and THAT is why none of the seriouse anime artists are putting their art in the anime section.

Anime is a style, NOT a subject.

This is for all the shugo chara/amuto fans, i have alot of shugo chara fans that watch me so wanted to make them happy xD I decide to draw the Chara in there so ya xD
though i got lazy on them XP it was missing something
when i added the chara i was like YES its perfect nao!!
I really like the way Ikuto came out =3 im getting better at drawing him xD i think i finally got the hair right and the eyes look nice except its kinda.....idk xD;

Well if you cant tell amu is making that face because shes
embarrased or another word would be nervous or something being on ikuto's back xD. I bet deep down in her soul shes saying this is preety fun XDDD

_{I constructed the mask from scratch, based on a design by *deland-fox. A lot of people seem to be asking about it so I'll be sharing my process in a journal entry later. And yeah, it's smaller than usual because it's meant to be worn as a head ornament only, not for covering the face. Any bigger and it wouldn't have stayed on properly and covered up too much of the face and hair.}

Valentine's Day was spent with the Tuxedo Team, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I love you guys.

Here's my first submission from our Naruto _{(though mostly Sasuke x Sakura, haha)} artbook-themed cosplay shoot. We only roughly followed the official character design because this is our own take on Team 7.

_{As for the pairing choice... Well, it's something very personal for these two. I'm not too big on pairings, but I do enjoy seeing Naruto spazzing over Sakura. Couldn't do any NaruSaku for this shoot though, for obvious reasons. Maybe when Isa ~sabotenshi plays Sakura again.}

Update: I'm new to this prints thing but I uploaded a version that prints well in both
heavyweight-matte and premium semigloss on my epson r800. Hopefully the uploaded
version works well with dA's printing as well. Print version slightly dodged to bring forth
man behind window.

Finally,I have made my own Doujinshi for the first time... On my birthday last year,I remember I have wrote in my wishlist that I should start writing my own manga or doujin... so the time has come,this is my ES21 doujin I made for sale in JumpEvent(Thailand) which held on 29th May. ^_^
Saling Doujin could be a sweet memory for me,although I didn't printed or saled the book in large number.
