Another finished commission. I really had fun with this guy. He is a bit bigger than my normal gryphons, so he has more wing detail. Basically they just asked me to come up with a frost gryphon, and here is the result! He has some fine shimmer powder applied to give him a frosty look, though the photo isn't showing it very well.

As promised DJ Pon-3/Vinyl Scratch (which ever you prefer). i reeeallly like dis one tho i have to admit that ive been improving with each sculpture =3 (fun fact: i took pictures of it on a dj hero turn table XD)

the time to make this one was.... long @__@ the hair was the biggest challenge ever! and if having two toned hair wasnt enough, not having much to base the other side of her mane was twice as bad! >.< so i took some artistic manipulation to make it look like it does now. bottom middle pic shows how its "breezing" over n.n pretty cool huh?
looks a lil alien like from a head on pic but any other angle looks nice -w-

many many mistakes that i did get to fix(very time consuming as well). but just keep learning more and more about sculpting these ponies.

on a side note, i do make very mini side scupltures out of the color of clay that currently use at that time. so a dragonair was sculpted and finished with this pony. so keep a watch out for that post!

Omg I have to admit, I LOVE MLP! >w< It is such an adorably awesome show, I think I crack up at every episode I watch XD

So I had to try my hand at making a mini figure of a character, I thought Derpy was a perfect candidate :3

She is made from super sculpey and painted with acrylics, then sealed with a glossy finish. She is about 2 x 1.5 inches and fits in the palm of your hand.

I want to make Pinkie Pie next.. She is a hilarious character to me, so random XD

Trying out python script called "Perfect Skin" by D3D on my Andorian character, Kelka. Here's a link to its page on Renderosity: [link]

The script uses shaders to make the eyes and skin more luminous. Works very nicely. The only problem I've found with it is that it is advertised to work with Poser 6 and it does not. The script is a .pyc file and P6 only accepts .py files as far as I can tell.

Maybe the hair isn't totally 'canon' for this particular group, but it's a key part of the Andorian appeal, I think, so I just had to add it. Hey, at least they don't have ears!

Okay, I know this is rediculous, but I really felt like doing it and it turned out really awesome.

Captain Torok (the Klingon) and Commander Denaan (the Andorian) of our fictional Starship that I want to call The Muffin but Mel says I can only do that if I can find out how to say muffin in Klingon. It's not working. So we've decided to call it K'truyg which is some kind of Klingon tart.

So I just had this weird image of Torok teasing Denaan about her antennae (yes, that's a chick)

And that's about it. The captain and the first officer get on so well, don't they?

The redesign of the Godspell face I made for the before mentioned drama group . They wanted something bright so I decided to go bright as you can go, with rainbow colouring... a white background was no good for such colouring sooo out came the good old black background . Quite happy with this after I smoothed out all the edges.

This new artwork is of a gothic style mermaid. It was inspired by the rugged sea cliffs and gothic connection of Whitby, a small coastal town in the UK. I enjoyed designing the character and setting for this picture. I like to give the hint of a story with many of my artworks and get the viewer thinking. Here I hope it is a little ambiguous. Is the mermaid mourning the loss of these dead sailors? Or has she lured them to their deaths to add to her skull collection!?

I usually paint female characters wearing a little more clothing, but traditionally mermaids don't wear any clothes and I am not a fan of giving them sea shell bikinis and such like. So I have made do with a see-through shawl and some well placed hair

Another of those "missing moments" in the Silmarillion. After Maedhros has been captured by Morgoth, his brothers debate on their options. From left to right: Caranthir, Curufin, Maglor, Celegorm, Amras.

(Text below is mine. Stylistically as close to Tolkien as I can make it. )

Amras: "But surely we will consider these terms? If our brother is given back to us, can we not then resume the war?"

Celegorm: "Morgoth will never return Maedhros to us, whatever we may do. And let us not forget that we have but Morgoths word in this. It is well possible that Maedhros is long slain, while he would still use him against us."

Caranthir: "Shall the sons of Fëanor then be remembered for sitting idle, and neither trying to avenge their father nor to free their brother?"

Curufin: "Have these past dealings with Morgoth taught you naught? Our father was slain because we took too lightly the strength of Angband. Our brother was taken because we took too lightly the cunning of our Enemy. Nothing can we do, but learn from our folly."

Amras: "Maglor, thou hast not spoken. What sayest thou?"

Maglor: "My heart is with Amras, and with Caranthir. And yet, I know to be true what Curufin and Celegorm have said. In Hithlum we will remain, and regain our strength, and not yield to the terms of Morgoth.

Download for 1920x1200 resolution. I would advice downloading for viewing as well, as deviantarts compression makes a mess out of the starfield in this piece.

The original resolution is somewhere around +4000x+2000, so other resolutions can be arranged if you want to.

The eldest son of Finarfin and brother to Galadriel, who founded Minas Tirith in the Pass of Sirion, and delved his citadel at Nargothrond on the River Narog. He went with Beren on the Quest of the Silmaril, and was lost in the pits of Sauron on Tol-in-Gaurhoth.

I have discovered that I'm rather intimidated by large colour palettes and appear to end up doing these "single colour" pictures way more than I should... gotta work on that >_>
