This is dedicated to my dearest friend Jocelyne
for... just because...
If I counted all the reasons, we'd be here forever!! But she is just fabulous, and I count myself blessed that I have known her so long, and that she is a wonderful friend to me, and to many. Her heart is big and beautiful.

This is Piccolo, [Piccolo Pita], our most recent addition to our family... call us crazy if you must, but anymore it doesn't matter ... all of our pets are spayed, neutered, given their shots, managed well in a variety of ways, such as medical files that we keep on each one, not to mention spoiled as they deserve to be!

We adopted Piccolo, about a month ago from our own humane society here, which I volunteer with as their photographer.

A man brought her in, saying she'd been hanging out under his carport for nearly three months and he was simply "tired of her there"... she had been given no name, and she was extremely skinny with a very scarred up NOSE!

However, she was also love and attention starved, and extremely tame, with no ill-mannered quirks.

At first, it was popularly wondered if she was a kitten, but soon realized that instead she was a full-grown cat, but at only 4 pounds!!

She is young, though, perhaps about a year only, and she does love to play... a lot!
She is my little silver shadow, too.
She is a silver tabby, very light grey in colour with distinct WHITE target marks on her sides, and white stripes on her tail.

She has the hugest tawny brown eyes, that I've ever seen on a cat! In fact, I've not often seen a cat with brown eyes.

I thought Piccolo would be the perfect name, because of her tiny size like the Piccolo instrument, her silver colouring, and because of the Piccolo sounding trills that she makes!

We have been treating her for a severe allergy, on her neck, but it is finally getting better, the scab has worn off and the hair is growing back.

She's obviously had a rough start in life, but she's not let it break her spirit, which is 100x larger than she is!

She is "larger than life" and tons of fun, and Daisy our big dog is completely enamoured by her, and everyone else only took a couple days to adjust, as she is quite courageous, not shy, very social, and so definitely all in all, doing amazingly well!

WE JUST ADORE OUR PICCOLO!

Step Inside My Colourful Mind

I had this idea a few days ago but didnt get round to doing it because i was a mess and things. Boring shirt on which is odd for me however it made things easier for the editing.

As you can see ive got Kitten, Red Squirrel, Red Panda, Lion Cub and the newest Seal in the background/my mind.
(yes i do still have bright red hair).

I should actually be painting my current picture atm but this distracted me and it hasnt turned out too bad so you all get to see it.

Charcoal Ringmaster

The Patchwork Ringmaster (A.K.A. me) has been reborn in charcoal and graphite. I know the sizing is a bit off and so is the other stuff but give me a break this is only the second thing ive ever done in charcoal and im crap at sketching too.

As you can see hes lost his stitches from the original, isnt he lucky but he isnt quite as cool now.

And he hasnt had a good life since he lost everything. Hes been living on the streets and generally being a drifter for a few months.

He is weathered beaten broken but still doffs his hat to those who deserve it.

So here it is, finally finished (i think). It now has pen on like my watercolour ones outlining parts and emphasising others. Only problem is the pen is water based so it refuses to dry so i may have to redo everything with a permanent pen (like the signature is done in)

So yes, thats my colourful face, dont really know if anyone will particularly like it but it was more for myself so i dont really care. As im sure i said on an earlier post everyone needs a self portrait just so you get put in your own style also its good to be taken out of youre comfort zone and have a play even if only briefly and to decide you dont like doing it haha.

Terrible cheap oil paints and pen on a 12" x 9" stretched canvas.

Will hopefully be purchasing better paints soon, these cheap ones were a crimbo pressie to see if i liked using oils, upgrade shortly if im lucky and find some money.

(Original photo not mine and is the property of Nelow [link] permission to upload my version has been requested but no reply recieved after 2 weeks so im bored waiting i want to show off puppy )

Painting is something around 34 inches diagonally, watercolour on thick card with permanent black pen on top. (Some areas such as the nose dont look black this is because of lighting of the photo so there was slight glare from the flash reflecting a bit more of the pen)

Background was made by me because the original background on the photo was, erm well lets say, not ideal.
Eyes and nose alone took me about 5 hours to complete over all i believe it took me 5 days to do all the painting and 1 final day to do the pen over the top.

I painted this, I own it, it is now in a frame as well and looks awesome even if i do say so myself.
Finally i apologize for putting the watermark on my paintings i plan to get prints done and sell them for extra money as i get older so i really cant have people stealing them or being able to have prints made for free.

As you look at the image...

Do you see a portrait of a happy couple where the man appears taller than the women?
An estranged women holding the disembodied head of the man in the portrait? Where she is seen to be above him and powerful.
A book with bloody smears in the middle of the bed?

Make it come together and the result is a powerful woman holding the disembodied head of a powerless man (revenge), underneath a couple torn by tainted faith (represented by the book with smeared in the middle of the bed).

As for the "Rebirth and Renewal" contest, this manipulation, as well as another one I am uploading marks the the rebirth and renewal of my artistic self and subject matter in my work. Over the past few years I have gone through certain events that involved me seeing a woman abused by another man, or myself. I would like to mention that I have always been into femme fatales though. I went into a horrible artist's block due to the abuse and just now I started to create artwork, but I have noticed the artwork I created is very concentrated on the degradation of men and empowerment of women. It has inspired me to create a new subject matter in my work that I am pleased with. My old artwork was very Gothic and involved women, but showed them as frail and alone, but after the events that happened I noticed my artwork drastically changed. I am, from now on, going to create artwork that holds a dark atmosphere with the theme of empowered women and disempowered men. I even am starting a website called "Death to Men", which will be dedicated to my new art style. Essentially, my new artwork is a big "f*** you" to all the abusive men out there and an expression of my rage and sadness.

The Walk

I wanted to get the feel that the girl has come up from the world she lived in to another world, There are 2 paths she can take. she appears shock as this world is quite more appealing than the bad old world she left behind, the 2 paths , 1 on the path where she is steadying herself and one on the right where it is a little mystical for her and is looking as though she might take that path.

She is in a dream state which is why the door & wall is actually the floor. Or you could just look at it and say it's because it is another world she has enter.

This work is meant to represent the end of mankind in a different way than the normal thinking of mankind's end on earth .

It's meant to represent the human race being given an option between taking there own life, or suffering in other ways unimaginable if they do not from the impending invaders.

The man is almost bent over backward looking up to the sky pleading for his life and that of his daughter on the chair , The teddy bears are for the children , as you know its much easier to coax a child in to doing something they don't want to by giving them something. The girl in this case is a teenager, but has took the teddy when remembering her child hood, then she is about to let it drop as she leaves.

The scene is set near the end where only a few people remain on earth, all the other chairs are now empty and gone.

I leave it up to you to think of what would happen to them by the invaders that makes it so terrible that humans take there own lives ?.

One of the last Cherry blossoms i was able to keep before they were all gone. I was thinking about something i heard from a friend in trouble "good times don't last forever" and i guess in a way he's right but i also think that sometimes we need change in order to move forward and is not always easy. I was also listening to Kilswitch Engage while editing this one and i got the name after their song "My Curse". I hope you guys like it

high five for funny names, so sweet that it may cause a tooth ache :3 concept done for the app/lwp. his names changed like 5 times atleast and was quite long-ish in works for several technical reasons. the main idea was to make him more alive than anyting before... now he tends to move around on his own, check out video c: as always used paint tool sai and photoshop.
