So... I'm uploading this as a sort of "update" to show how my waffles look now. They're finally starting to look like I want them to look. I'm still missing something, so I'll have to keep practicing! I think I still need to add some more browning in the depressions, I noticed that's the part that gets the most toasty.

I decided I will post something like this to let my watchers know that I made a new tutorial in case they don't have a YT account, so here's the first one! The next tutorial is almost ready, wait for it!! ^^

Miniature Pizza Tutorial - 2

It took me a while but I finally finished this!
It turned out ...longer than I expected (clever use of understatements here, uh? ).
I tried to keep the captions to a minimum and semplify the steps, but I had to split it in two parts anyway

I was a little hesitant to call it a "tutorial" - I'm still trying to figure out a way to achieve a really realistic miniature pizza.
This is the best result I've achieved so far, but there still are some flaws that I need to fix..
I'm open to suggestion! Especially about the tomato sauce part

Is it okay to rebake the clay stick?
Yup it's entirely safe to re-bake clay. (although within reason. You can't bake something 100 times). Some even say re-baking makes the clay stronger. You can check out [link] for more information. That site has everything you need to know about clay.

Polymer Clay ROCK CANDY TUTORIAL

So I finally finished it! Sorry for the wait guys. I know a billion (approx. estimate) people asked me to do this, and I've had the pictures taken for it forever, I just was waiting for a quiet moment away from commissions to finish it.

I hope I explained things well enough, and as always if you have questions I'll be happy to help. But please make sure you read over it carefully before asking a question, or scan the comments real quick to see if someone else asked it and I answered them. :3

And yes, you DO need translucent clay for the realistic clear effect. White clay will work if you do not want it to look realistic. Translucent clay can be found where all the other clay can be found. It's sort of a weird off-white color. A picture of it is in the tutorial.

If you want it to be shiny you must glaze it with a polymer clay glaze. I forgot to mention that in the tutorial. :3 I use Sculpey Gloss.

Corn Dog Tutorial

Aaaaaand another tutorial for you all! This time it's for a yummy clay corn dog! And also I remembered what many of you had commented on my last tutorial (that the font was a little hard to read) so I took that into consideration this time and picked a better looking font.

Oh! And I forgot to add but if you wanted to add ketchup or mustard to the corn dog (I usually don't eat mine with that so maybe that's why I forgot haha) you can just take some TLS and mix it with red or yellow acrlyic paint or eyeshadow. Then just use a knife to put a little bit of it on the corn dog.

Orange Cane Experiences

Hi!

Sorry for the lateness of this...i've been very busy

So this is not really a tutorial on HOW to do your canes...there are plenty of them on the internet
This is for those who get crumbly canes when they try to slice canes that baked only for 5 minutes in the oven...

I had that same problem with my canes but now i know how to solve it and since sooooo many people have this same problem (i've found toons of people commenting on blogs and youtube videos and no one could give them a straight answer )
This was my way of solving the problem and i hope this works for the most of you...if not...just try different baking times (1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 7 minutes, 10 minutes...you get the point) and keep track on how your cane reacted in those different tests by taking a photo or by recording a video

Just try out as much possibilities as you can and in case of any doubth just ask around (i did that to some polymer clay artists i know had done some baked clay canes)

Oh...and yes this does go the similar way for lemons, limes, grapefruits and other citrus fruits

IMPORTANT!!!
I will be adding here on the description questions that may come up so you can check if your question is here or not

1) Isn't fimo supposed to be baked for 25-30 minutes?
A: well it really depends on the tickness but for normal sized canes (around 0,5 cm) 15 minutes is usually the best time (in my opinion)

2) Why don't you cut them before baking?
A:Mainly because they get distorted when cut raw. But also i only bake the canes i only use from time to time...canes that i use right away usually aren't baked.
Oh. and also because of the storage options:
-Baked canes i cam store in a box all together...
-Raw canes i have to store them in large containers where they have a lot of space and where they don't get squished.
Raw canes also shouldn't be kept for long times since they get crumbly as the raw clay ages

Oh! and if you find any spealling mistakes...just tell me :$ i'm out of practise in english writting...

Rainbow Cake Tutorial

Finally made a tutorial for my recently popular rainbow cake. ^^

Forgot to write the temperature to bake the clay at, bake it at 275 degrees per 1/4 inch thickness. [:

This is my first tutorial i have ever made...it was a request by ~jildingroi ...hehe...
A few comments..picture 7 actually shows tls with brown and something like dark grey chalk...
in picture 8 i have spread this tls mix on the cake and i've put some fruit slices (canes ofcorse)...
the funny thing is...that this isactually my work place haha pretty messy, dont you think??
anywayzz... i hope that this tutorial showed you some tricks that you may dont know....or even gave you ideas for creating something new!

How to make pies

How to make pies!

I was asked to make this tutorial, so I decided it was time. I will explain how to make two kinds of pies, a plain pie and a blueberry pie (it can be any fruit you want by the way)

You will need:

-Polymer clay (obviously, lol) Brown and white (or if you can find a nice beige color in the aisle thats fine)

-TLS (Translucent Liquid Sculpey) or liquid Fimo (I never used that brand, simply because I never could find any where I live, but it should work the same)

-A few beer caps (depending on how many pies you want to make)

-Pliers (small if you can)

-Pastels (chalks)

-A paintbrush (for the pastel) and another one for the glaze.

-Glaze

-Something to stir (a small plate and a toothpick works fine)

Other materials, to make a berry pie:

-Glass beads (plastic beads melts a bit in the oven but it is not dramatic unless you touch them, then they tend to deform). Blue for blueberries, red for cherries, or whatever you feel like having in your pie.

To make a plain pie

-Couscous or scraps of clay (to fill the inside of the pie). Since we wont see whats in it, it doesnt matter. Couscous works well and doesnt grow mould.

FIRST OF ALL:
(For both pies)
Before we do anything, you will need to modify the beer caps. Some people who use those to make pie plates, leaves them the way they are, but I prefer my way, no offence, lol. With the pliers, bend the edge toward the exterior, be careful not to cut yourself. It isnt too hard, just make sure not to go too far.

STEP #1
FOR THE BLUBERRY (or whatever berry or fruit) PIE:
a) Roll out a piece of clay (it has to be a nice beige color), not too think, and put it in your brand new pie plate. Make sure it sticks to the bottom, if youre not sure you can add a drop of TLS, but it is not necessary.

b) Remove the excess of clay on the edges as shown on the picture.

STEP #2
a) In a small plate, put a small amount of beads or whatever you need to fill up the pie with, lol. Then add some TLS or Liquid Fimo. Mix them with a toothpick or whatever tool you want to use. Personally I prefer using dentist tools. You can find those in art supply stores or drug stores sometimes. Just make sure that all the beads has some TLS on it.

Why doing this? Simple, so the beads stick together during the baking process! Otherwise they will fall out the pie and then youll have beads everywhereno fun. lol

b) Put the mélange into your pie plate.

STEP #3
A tricky part! Roll out some more clay the same color at the bottom of the pie, then cut even slices, but careful not to make them too large, or you wont be able to see the inside of the pie. I will show you the not-so-complicated version on the assembling of the slices. You put two slices on the extremities, them you put two on the other side, again at the extremities. You change side once more, put one in the middle, them you turn it one last time and put the last one in the middle. I hope the pictures are clearer than my poor attempt at explaining the process with words, lol. Just follow the steps as show on the picture and you should not have any problem. Remove the excess.

STEP #4
a) Scrape (or rather, gently shave) some brown pastel into a plate or small cup or whatever. With the paintbrush, gently dab some of the powder youve made onto the edges of the pie, so it looks baked. You do the slices as well. You can use a darker color for the most exposed part, to look as though these parts baked more.

b) With a tool (toothpick or a large needle) make small indentations on the edge, to make it look more like a real pie.

STEP #5
Its time to put your piece of art in the oven, follow the indications on the pack of the brand of polymer clay you uses.

STEP #6
Once it is out of the oven, wait for 20-30 minutes for it to cool down, then you can glaze it. The berry pie is done!

STEP #1
FOR THE PLAIN PIE:
Take your previously prepared beer cap and fill it with couscous or scraps of polymer clay. The color isnt important, since were not going to see it. To look good, you need to fill the pie plate with as much as it can contain. See the picture to get my meaning, lol.

If you dont want to hear the couscous after it is baked, then add some TLS or Liquid Fimo to it before you continue. It will make the small seeds stick together in the baking process.

STEP #2
a) Roll out a piece of beige clay and carefully put it on top of the pie plate (as you may have noticed, you do not need a bottom to the pie, unless you want to cut a piece, but that will be for another tutorial eventually). Remove the excess.

b) With a tool (toothpick or a large needle) make small indentations on the edge, to make it look more like a real pie. On top, pierce small holes in the shape you want, as you would a real pie, to let the steam out.

STEP #3
Scrape (or rather, gently shave) some brown pastel into a plate or small cup or whatever. With the paintbrush, gently dab some of the powder youve made onto the edges of the pie, so it looks baked. You can use a darker color for the most exposed part, to look as though these parts baked more.

Yay another clay tutorial! And a scented one at that!
This was ALOT of fun to do, kinda unexpected too.

Cake nomnomnomnom!

So this was a trip though. I was thinking about making a pink cake charm for my brother (he's having a baby girl soon), so as I was making it last night I was like heck this'll be another one of my tutorials.

The sprinkle thing at the end is due to the frosting cracking cuz I stupidly made the frosting too thin (!%^@$%), I ended up getting so frustrated that I ripped them all out, re-frosted, re-baked, and then ended up painting them on.
Don't worry about cracking, I just made it WAY too thin, so if you frost it normally (or thickly to be safe) you should be fine.

If you have ANY questions about this, ask away!

***I forgot to put it in, but I added the scented oil to the sculpey/TLS mixture, be sure to do that.

Some Notes:

* I buy my scented oil from michaels, very easy to find there and comes in multiple scents.
* The oil does not effect the the baking or anything, it just makes the clay a bit stickier when you work with it. Nor does it discolor the clay.
* And it actually does smell like vanilla after baking. My mom was holding it under her nose for like 30min while she was watching tv. She said it was her vanilla happy moment lol.

Well, I thought I'd share more of my polymer clay knowledge with the world. I get frustrated when no one will share special techniques with me, so it's only fair that I share my most prized techniques with all of you. ^^

Oh, yeah, little warning about embossing powder--- it does really weird things in the oven, so you really will want to find something different if you want to make vanilla bean. I just started experimenting with it. Maybe I got the cheapy brand... *shrugs* The main thing about this tutorial is the texturing technique-- it really doesn't matter what kind of ice cream you decide to make. ^^

*whew* Goodness, this one took a little longer than expected, not to mention it took like 10 minutes to upload.

Ok, so, *ahem* This is a Milkshake/Hot Fudge Sundae/Translucent Liquid Sculpey/Faux Glass Tutorial. Pretty amazing, huh? Anywho.

There are two glass techniques: Simply applying a thick layer of glaze after you bake your charm, or the technique showed with the Sundae (wrapping with a thin layer of translucent clay), which can be used for the Milkshake, if you'd like.

The TLS technique is identical to the technique I use for frosting cupcakes.

Another little tip that you might learn from this tutorial is baking separate pieces and then putting them together. Applying the whipped cream to the Milkshake before you bake it is very difficult, and you'll probably end up smudging the details. Same with applying frosting to cupcakes.
Freezing the milkshake/cupcake before detailing (i.e., giving cake a realistic texture, or making the lines on a milkshake) can help keep you from smudging one side while your working on another.

Rubbing alcohol is your best friend when it comes to TLS. Simply soak an old rag with rubbing alcohol and wipe down any TLS you may have spilt on the table, floor, counters, etc.

Please, please, please, please, please don't comment to correct any spelling/grammar mistakes that I made. The text boxes wouldn't let me change any text after I clicked outside of the box, so I couldn't go back and fix anything, even if I wanted to.

I know, I rambled on too much D;
And sorry for my bad handwriting.

So, I decided to make a tutorial for ice cream.. some people asked me how I made the cone in my ice cream charm picture, others for the texture of the ice cream, so here it is! My first tutorial!! Hope you find it helpful

I'm not claiming any of the techniques used here to be my own.. most of it came out of practising and perfecting, and also reading other crafters' tutorials. Well, ok, except for the pencil part.. I'm quite sure no one else would do something so weird. =.=

Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding things I didn't explain properly, I'll be glad to help. Oh, and spelling mistakes too, if you find one.

Edit: A few people have asked me this, so I'll write it here:

"Why no acrylics?": Acrylics are water based, so when you bake it the water will evaporate and cause bubbles in your work that will probably show up on the surface, or cause minor cracks in it and making it less durable.. or so I've heard. Lots of tutorials I've read has told me this, however I've never tried it myself, so I'm not totally sure

UPDATE: The amazing ~Snowfern pointed out some mistakes I had made about the baking times. She explained to me why it was important to bake your items at the correct temperature, for the right amount of time. Even if your minis look fine, they're raw in the inside and they will deteriorate overtime! Not immediately, but in a few years they will crumble... so please, I can't stress how important it is to learn to bake your creations correctly!

I am sorry everyone for the mistake, I hope I didn't cause trouble I am not perfect and I am still learning, so if you see me making any more mistakes please let me know I really want to help, so I certainly don't want to give false information. Please give some love to ~Snowfern!

Cakes are one of the most complicated things I do, so the tutorial ended up being quite long... actually they're not complicated, they're quite easy but they involve many steps.

This took me months to finish, months! I took the first photos 3 months ago, and the last one just a couple of days ago. It was getting ridiculous: the more I advanced, the more I felt the need to take a new photo, explain a new technique, revise everything... I had to stop myself from dragging the tutorial any longer. It's finished, but I'm sure that I'll want to revise it again in the future.

Well that explains why the lightning is so inconsistent. I'm sorry about that, I hope it's not too annoying.

My next tutorial is going to be something quick and easy or I'll die what to do next?

Miniature Toadstool Tutorial

Finally I'm ready with my first tutorial! This is what I have been doing the last few days, hope you enjoy it and find it useful!

I will show you how to make the beautiful fly agarics (Amanita Muscaria) in miniature. May be some of you have a better technique but this is what I have come up to.

For those who have never made miniatures: don't get scared by the size of my toadstools and all those fingers around, you can use the same technique for any size. However, I recommend starting with a LARGER mushrooms.

If you have a question or there is anything unclear just ask.
And please tell me if you find a mistake!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: You would better use cornstarch instead of baby powder as some powders contain TALC (like mine - i don't know how can one still make such products) and talc is considered cancerogenic!
