Drew this back in March 2010 and is probably my best drawing so far

Now the reason why this drawing looks a million times better than my other drawings is because: Most of the drawings in my gallery took only about 15 minutes to a week to finish while this one took about 2 months to finish, so that means I had a lot of time to refine and color in all of the details and get the shadings right. (I actually started this drawing in November 2009 but took a few long breaks)

What makes me really proud of this drawing is that I didn't use any reference for this. But I know its still not perfect (I can still spot flaws xD)

This was also entered in the same contest as the flying wolf one last year if you noticed that it was drawn back on the same month.

The name isn't very creative, I know. But this is one of my few drawings that I've actually been satisfied with.

EDIT : OMG a DD?!! I.. I can't even.. *faints*

Thanks for all the comments and favs guize I really appreciate it! But this deviation seems to be hogging a lot of attention from the rest of my gallery, even if it is my best one lol. But try checking out some of the other things in my gallery. :3

Lackadaisy Expressions

Boy, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this. I've had requests for some sort of expressions tutorial dating back a while now, so I figured, "Sure! I can explain expression drawing...and I'll make it way better than all those tutorials out there that are nothing but charts of generic expressions. Yeah! Just give me a day or two to whip something up..."

Um. Sometime a lot more than two days later, I have this messy behemoth and the realization that I haven't a clue how to teach expression drawing. There's just so much material to cover, and so much of it is like intuitive language translation, I can't figure how to put it into tutorial form any more than I could draw a picture of how to speak Russian. I guess that's why expression tutorials are mostly just charts of what happy, sad, and confused look like.

Anyway, I found all I could really do was try to explain ways to teach yourself...and then add some pictures. Hopefully that makes for something at least marginally informative.

Snow Leopard: Kira

Kira, a snow leopard, resides at the Toronto Zoo. This is a photo manipulation with some painted sections. =WildByDesignReloaded was gracious enough to give me one of his photos of Kira to use for this. It was quite blurry, but he (and I!) just adored the pose with the tail curled up. Please go check out his photos if you like snow leopards or other big cats. He does some amazing work. Please note, though, that his photos are NOT stock, so do not use them without his permission. All other photos used were my own.

Snow leopards are secretive cats that live high in the Asian mountains. In addition to being the smallest "big cat" species, they are also incapable of roaring. Unfortunately, this shy cat is endangered despite living in some of the most isolated, inhospitable areas on earth, due to prey depletion, habitat loss, and poaching.

What you can do to help:

*Donate money to a charity or organization that helps wild snow leopard populations, such as the Snow Leopard Trust (see link below).

*Volunteer at a local zoo or wild animal park.

Bleeding Heart

This is an unfinished painting that I tried to do over the summer but gave up on. I mentioned in the comment area of this post that I had problems drawing due to family issues so I folded origami instead. This painting was one of the many that I tried to do over that period of time but just couldn't continue. I found it in my folder today and decided to post it as it is.

Speed painting I did awhile back.

I wanted the scene to be very serene. As though Godzilla was slowly creeping towards the city early in the morning without giving any warning (aside from the one boater who happened to spot him).
I Didn't want any of the environment disturbed around him during his approach...A "calm before the storm" type of thing.

Since Godzilla is a man made perversion of nature I wanted the mist to play a part in hiding his presence.
Almost as though the forces of nature were somehow aiding him during his approach to the city for payback.

The mist was just a subtle hint to give the impression that Godzilla might not just be a giant radiated lizard or a product of science gone wrong, but there might be some kind of supernatural "diety" type forces at work here.

The Zelda Project is a Los Angeles, CA based group of friends who seek to bring to life the characters, settings, and overall feel of Ocarina of Time through photography and film. The boots, gloves, and belts are all real leather, which we will be distressing further in the future. The gloves are still in semi pristine order right now, because Link has just emerged from the Temple of Time in his new clothes! The sword and shield are made with a number of different materials including high density foam, fiberglass, and resin. We included with the shield some distressing, since he is able to use it as a kid, but we will embellish it further as time goes on! The tunic is made with rayon spandex jersey knit, and the underclothes are a combination of 100% linen and spandex ITY. I will be posting a more in depth "how it was made" on the website once all of the photos have been posted!

This cosplay photo was a huge combined group effort that was a labor of love by friends and fans of the Legend of Zelda series. Combining all aspects of art from photography to visual effects, we wanted to bring the Legend of Zelda to life as best we could in a final presentation. So far this has been incredibly rewarding, and we hope that those of you who view our work are brought a little bit more into the world of Hyrule through our art.

A special thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far! Without all of your support and kindness we wouldn't have been able to make this happen. We only hope that with what we produce, a smile is put on your face!

Tibor the Sumatran Tiger at Edinburgh zoo.

Tibor sadly has recently had to have his injured right eye removed. He had lost all sight in it and had developed an infection, and so the vet thought it best to remove it. He still has good sight in his remaining eye and is expected to make a full recovery

We knew that this would happen one day but when it happens it really punches you in your face

Herr Hildezart earned his wings And he really earned them (even if church says that animals have no souls I believe that he will be on a good place now...) for all the fun, the joy, the pleasure and most important: the love he awoke. He was the most lovable and gentle hamster in the world and I will miss him...

I am so thankful for the time we spent together because I saw him never as pet, I saw him as the smallest friend I've ever had

He passed away some time ago (three weeks) but I was not able to write something about him, because it was too hard for me.
He died in dignity and without any pain and that really comfort me. We found him cuddled in a big pile of cotton in his favorite house and he looked like if he was sleeping....

His life was long, full of love, joy and fame. He reached everything a hamster could reach...

I am so thankful that he does not only was loved by me and my family and friends NO he was loved by so many people. People who never had seen him made fanarts for him and took the time to write cute and lovely comments for him. If you google for "Herr Hildezart" you'll not find only my pictures No you will find a lot of blogs, bulletin boards, private sites were people talk about my friend. He was "just a hamster" but I know that he knew about that and that he was as thankful about that as me..

The warm rays of sunrise begin to burn off the morning fog over the lost city of Machu Picchu. I was lucky enough to be on the first train back to the ruins after the disastrous floods of winter, 2009. This was the first day in nearly 4 months that the park had received any visitors. And it was empty at sunrise!

I was granted 15 minutes with the incredibly amazing, and talented Emilie Autumn last year on her stop in Vancouver. She posed without question, and even during her free, 'pre-show' time. Such a sweet heart. I showed her a few of the photos after the shoot to rave reviews. She gave me one of the best compliments I have ever recieved from a subject.

Honestly, I didn't then know what to expect from her show, but It was hands down the best show I covered for Abort Magazine in all 2009.

This weeks Creature Of the Week (COW) topic was Zombie Dinosaur. Photoshop/Painter and about 7 hours.

The Cryptosaurus was the only Dinosaur that developed the ability to reanimate after death. This evolution allowed the species to survive the great extinction, emerging from the death and destruction to feast on the remains of the fallen.
