I work in the local creative industry and my faith in the Filipino talent is unshakable. There is no doubt in our capabilities to create new and original stuff, but it is always welcome and comforting to know that we are left with a beautiful history that is a treasure trove of culture and ideas.

finally got the normal mapping to work properly - for those who are not familiar with computer graphics normal mapping is a technique that changes the surface orientation making it possible to add detail to an object without increasing polygon count - the reflections on the snake scales are just a result of normal mapping (the surface is actually flat)
I guess I'm weird cause instead of using OpenGL or DirectX I use my own graphics code written in Delphi

that's what happens when you write your own code (actually considering that there were a few errors for rotating the view in 3ds max 4 or 5 and also some simple errors in photoshop it makes you think that maybe the people there didn't really pay attention in math classes on vectorial spaces )

I've been blessed with a GREAT Son and can't wait to take more and more shots of the little guy. And who would have thought he'd be such a great excuse to spend more money on camera stuff (i.e. 10-22mm Canon lens on order). ]]>

First one of the, duh, Seven Deadly Sins serie.

"Vanity is an excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise."


symbolism?
It's all pretty obvious but I will explain some stuff which inspired me, to sound cool, mind you.

- As you can read up, vanity is linked with the color violet, so here you go the color theme.
- Peacocks remind me of vanity as well, therefore I have used a peacock feather as an inspiration for the "frame".
- You can see the background being desertish (plus the dead tree)... Vain people usually never see any beauty in the world, but only in themselves... That is why everything around them, sooner or later, dies - and that is what I have tried to depicture.
