Hi everyone!

I finally managed to get aero working on windows 8

Visual style: Snowy v3.0 by ~Carborunda ,probably the best windows 8 visual style available so far
How to enable aero : Aero Glass Tweaker GUI for Win8 (try these settings [link]).
I am also using the default rainmeter skin ,and Start is Back.

(hint : open the image in a new tab to avoid the deviantart's crappy previews)

Recently I have seen more and more brilliant MIUI lockscreens, unfortunately my device (ZTE Blade) will most probably never be supported.

Using a Lockscreen theme by MIUI, I took the slider images and made up a custom widgetlocker slider. I also took the necessary images to make up the lockscreen look I was after.

Using Missed it! [link] and minimalistic Text [link] on a 9x9 grid with 2 sliders i was able to position the clock and counters after some playing around.

I have put together a zip which holds:
MIUI like widgetlocker slider
Wallpaper overlay (Put the .png layer on top of your desired wallpaper in PS or gimp etc.)
A few already made wallpapers.
Missed it! saved preferences. (place in root of SD card)
Mclock mod. (In folder miuilockclock)

A little more tinkering may be needed to get the perfect position of missed it widget.

Only tested on HPDI device.
Overlay positioned to be just under notification bar, and will need to be moved up if you use a hidden notification bar.
Full credit goes to MIUI. [link]

EDIT: The zip now contains my MIUI like Mclock mod which seems to be a better method for the clock.
(You got to chose between overlay or Mclock as cant be bothered tinkering with position, sorry. But feel free to do it yourself.)

A classic visual style with Aero enhancements.

New substyle of Classic AE 2.5.3 [link], originally a working version before final 2.5.3 release. This style is fully updated, but with some cosmetic changes as listed below.

Substyle differences:

Lighter, flat menus.
Lighter primary panels for Task dialogs/Aero wizard.
Darker blue scheme for window captions and assorted text.

Compatible with start buttons and file mods from regular 2.5.3 release, but included as well.
Also includes "No Help Button" folderband mod shellstyle as default.

ShineOS concept

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION FIRST!

This is a concept for an OS that will probably never become a reality unfortunately, but I have nicknamed it 'ShineOS'.

If you have a 1920x1200 screen then click Download and go fullscreen to see it fullsize.

It has tabs like in Chromium in every window instead of having multiple windows (no multiple taskbar previews just one of the open tab).

The menubar is on the topbar and when a window is maximised it won't obstruct the topbar or the winbar/clock.

You can open a new window (and do all simple tasks like logoff etc.) by clicking the '+' in the winbar.

You can move windows with the tiny move icon in the bottom right corner of the screen - I thought of this so if you had too many tabs open you could still drag it.

So, what do you think?

I discovered some new tricks. a trick to implement the wallpaper to taskbar EASILY. As you see I implement the wallpaper to left and right and made a lookalike a dock. it also has transparency. changing the color appearance of the windows will change the color of the taskbar (dockalike).
All you need is windowsstylebuilder to change your desired wallpaper EASILY. only 3-5 steps.
I'll make instruction when i release the Chromium vs for windows 8.

Due to the changes of iTunes 11, Ice iTunes will be staying at version 10.7 for now due to the fact that the dark grid view is gone. This theme does not support retina displays and does not support version 11 Yet!

How to install Theme; (Create a system restore point first!)

1. Windows 8 x64 users download [link] <---- If already Patched, skip steps 1/2.
2. Install Patch, dont reboot.
3. Copy the theme files to C:WindowsResourcesThemes
4. Apply the theme through the personalization window.

NO RIBBON mac osX is an os x style theme for Windows 8 rtm , inspired from the mac os X and made under my personal view.

It does not contain RIBBON to explorer.

This kind of Theme with no ribbon, made because some users who don't like ribbon asked me for.

For the other people who use ribbon, this is not a choice, its better use my platinum ones [link] .

Here on this download, are 2 Themes and visual styles that can be used only on Windows 8 RTM .

How to open pane :

we will use the folderband for appearing of the pane's, such as the preview pane or the details pane.

i have setted the folderband inside the preview pane so what you need to do for appear it is press from your keyboard : ALT + P

Then go to your folderband at top and select Organise, Layout ---> select/deselect the pane you want>

press again ALT + P for dissapear the preview pane. see [link]

THIS WORK its not a stand alone work.

It has 2 compact visual styles and 2 system files (explorerFrame.dll and shell32.dll) for each version (32 bit and 64 bit)

Names of the visual styles/themes:

06 is a light gray version with thin vertical separators and white main surface.

H403 is a light gray version with thin vertical separators and a light blue main surface so for be more relaxing after many hours work to pc.

These themes have been made to be used with the system files that included to this pack, otherwise they will not look as in picture.

With this theme, with have dissapeared the ribbon from explorer but not from applications that needed the explorer, so for having a white or a black version of those applications, such as 'Paint' etc download my Platinum Theme for Windows 8 rtm [link]

there exist 32 and 64 bit version uiribbon.dll system files for that.

as also :

The construction of the mstyles/visual style in windows 8 rtm, is such so when we have a compact looking style, like that included to this pack, when we use an aplication, we can not have at the top of it a separator line between the menu and titlebar of the application, so i just make only 2 compact themes .

But you can use my Platinum ones that have not this issue, though to Platinum's themes, to explorer, the rebar part, where exist adress bar, search bar and navigation buttons are looking as a separate area.

For dissapearing the status bar at the bottom of explorer's window go to Control PanelAll Control Panel Items select 'FOLDER OPTIONS', select 'view' then deselect the 'Show Status bar'

Setting small title font on titlebar :
go to Control PanelAppearance and PersonalizationDisplay and set to the section 'Change only the text size' to '9' and select/check the 'bold' option.

Download Leftsider from [link] so to set the min, max,close buttons to left. But attention applications which used ribbon such as Paint will not work setting properly when use the leftsider setting to left the min, max,close buttons.
