Big Five Part 2: Cape Buffalo.

Employed in large herds of real buffalo these units patrol the herd providing real time data and intel on the animals and the terrain around them. Accompanied to each unit is an entourage of miniscule bird shaped UAV's built to mimic Oxpeckers. These little spies can easily transfer between the animals extending the observable area by many times. Due to the aggressive nature of the animals in protection the operator must remain at a distance from the primary herd. It is advisable to use either suppressed, air powered, or traditional weapons (bow and arrow/crossbow) so as not to scare the herd causing a stampede.

Since I know I won't have time to paint you a pretty Christmas pic this year (like the other years before), I would at least share with what I create my pictures.
This is one small bunch of my selfmade custom brushes for Photoshop.

Some brushes can be a pain in the bum to use especially because their texture and style is so distinctive that changing brushes whilst painting can turn into a negative part of creating an image for the starters among the digital artists.

So I tried to create brushes that are simple to use for shading, detailing, etc.

I hope you enjoy, my dears.

How to load brushes into your program:

- Select the brush tool or hit the key "B" to select the tool.

- Click next to the arrow of the shown brush on the upper tool bar to open the "Brush Preset Picker".

- click the small arrow on the right side next to where you see the pixel size.

- then select "Load Brushes" and choose the files.

- there you go! The brushes will be loaded underneath all your other brushes.

- enjoy!

P.S:: You don't need to but it would be lovely (and also because I'm so curious) if you could link me your works for which you used these brushes. :]}

RAEVONA - Docking Towers

Whos to say there are not worlds out there where advanced races visit each other in peace. With this in mind I have painted a craft-height view of one of these worlds, showing the large docking towers reaching towards the Stratosphere. These structures surrounded by the immense civilisation of this distant world.

This image will be part of my update to VA in the next week or so.

Original size - 5k wide
About 20 hours or so.
Painted in Adobe Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos 2 tablet.

My inspiration was Tolkien (of course), his Númenórean race. The Ship is my creation, based maybe on some greek or roman designs. Done in photoshop, in some 35-40 hours. There is a lot of details which takes me ages to do. Hope you will like it.

Finally i can start to post my newer works. I have some 5 pictures and wil lpost them in next 2 months hopefully.
This is a painting for the new project of the Creative Assembly.

The name of the game is Empire: total war. As I love to paint old ships I really enjoyed working on those pictures. This is only first one, the rest is waiting to be published.
The Image captures early mornig mood in huge french harbour La Rochelle, year 1715. The big ship on the left is the grandious Le Louis Quinze, most beatifull and biggest ship of its age.
I did try to make the ship as real as possible, reference was the model in naval museum in Paris. The general mood of the picture is maybe similar to some old oils from the 18.th century, that was my small goal.

The whole pic was done in about 30-40 hours. Original size is something like 2600pix so it was somehow hard to finish.

Im hoping that you will like this picture and i'll be happy to see any comments.

One of my older works. Almost 2 years old. Its an fantasy atrwork for the Elveon project, the game will be released this year. Capital ship crushing the enemy fleet, with the help of divine artefact on the prove. The ship should look very big, full of war machines. My own design. Hope you like it.

This is from a concept design class I'm taking at the school I'm teaching at. Instructor Christian Gossett( Red Star creator) had everybody 'redesign' Skynet from the latest Terminator.
So here it its: a walking, destroying machine factory whose mother might have been the Queen Alien!
I used many elements from the films, as well as Transformers, to piece this thing together. About four hours work, thanks for lookin'!

Some stuff on my desk o_o Done from life over the course of four days... damn, daylight is hard, it changes so much, especially in winter.... so a lot of this is improvised, but not only with the colors, it's also damn hard to keep sitting in the same position for days... and then suddenly stuff doesn't line up, or there's a stupid tangent... so you end up just making up stuff... a few of these pencils are actually from head to fill holes or to force an additional overlap haha...

Hey! Here's the steps for !

To gibe some explainings, top left is obviously the sketch plus a gradient, with step two being the same with all the shapes having been blocked in on layers. I then did rough colors for everything to get the mood going, but blurred the background so I could focus on the character first (step three). Then once she was more or less done (step four) I did the background (step five) and then finally pulled all the stuff together with glow and all that shit.

Water Colossus

Millennia ago, an entire civilization banded together to ensnare this devastating water spirit in cursed armor. However, once the deed was done, it was not enough to hinder the monster entirely. With no means to rid itself of the cumbersome shackles, it wiped out the entire populace of its planet in a blind fury. Ever since, it has been traveling the Rifts in search of a way to free itself with malicious intent.

I thought coming up with some possible attacks it does would be fun:

-Shoots a super-heated column of water from its mouth area. Indicators of this are a glowing of the neck and head area and steam venting from the forehead.

-Uses the bodies of its past victims as vessels to attack you with. Those bodies would be floating around in its own body, swept up by its powerful current and pushed out to create enemies to fight.

-Can smash stuff with its head in classic WWE fashion.

-Tail whip?

-Maybe create a steam/fog screen that hinders characters.
