This picture is meant to go along with my other piece, Legendary Princess. Here we have Midna from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In her HUMAN FORM. ZOMG SPOILARS!! But seriously, if you're on dA and didn't know about big!Midna then... yeah. Here's another spoiler for you, AERIS DIES!!1

So this took me a ridiculous amount of time from sketch to finish working bit by bit as school has completely taken over my LIIIIFE. Gah. I am hating this semester so much. I want it to be over NOW. But I'm trying to do more art, so here's Midna. Damn Miyamoto and his damn difficult designs! I'm pretty happy with how she turned out though. I know she's not 100% accurate, but pretty close I'd like to think. I owe a big thanks to ~Rinerdar for his detail shots of Midna's in game render.

So yeah. Didn't take quite so much time and pain as Zelda, but still was pretty infuriating.

Wrote this on Christmas Day when my internet was down... wrote about eight poems, plus scraps actually.

This one isn't great but it bounces.

(tip - bane-sidhe = banshee. I just want to spell it the older way, because it looks 'right' :D )

Crit is good; I think all the line syllables match, not sure about the actual beat in places though.

Hmmm... also, if I get four or more verses following on, I'll do a journal feature. Preferably from different people.

WRITE ME ANOTHER VERSE! ]]> There's a dragon in my head,
And he's watching me and smiling,
And for sure I do not like this,
For he's thinking of me dying,

There's a selkie just behind,
And she sets my belly roiling,
And although I block my ears,
Her laughter there's no foiling,

There are bane-sidhes in my dreams,

I wrote this as a form of catharsis, initially. I was thinking of all the advice I've gotten over the years about art--although this applies to a lot of other disciplines as well--and thinking about all the things no one ever told me.

Although I suppose, like it says, even if they had I'd do it anyway. ]]>
They don't tell you about the nights when you'll cry; when you'll curse and rave and throw wadded up tissues at the monitor. They don't tell you about the number of times you'll want to throw your pencil or brush or tablet pen in the garbage disposal and flip the switch.

They don't tell you about the time spent painting insane detail onto tiny things that no one will ever see, ever appreciate, ever understand except to say "nice" or "pretty" or "wow"--none of which ever come close to how you felt when you painted it. How you felt when you stepped back and stared and were awed for a moment that you had pulled s ]]>
