I know Togemogumon's a fanmade Digimon, but when they were allocating Armor Digimon it would have made more sense to pair it with Armadillomon rather than Wormmon. I'm fairly certain they made a mistake there...

Extra Ranger Project, Set 2

I think that's everyone. Thanks so much for the suggestions people, it's great to see all the different ideas!

Just like the last set, the idea of this project is to create extra rangers for those series that didn't have one. I asked people to make suggestions for certain series and give color, gender, motif, etc. Then I kinda took what seemed to be the most popular of each category for each ranger and have made that. The easiest part was gender, as there's only two options. Everything else is kinda more challenging. There's a lot more armors in this one than the first.

From left-right:
Gray Six for Choudenshi Bioman (black and silver were the popular suggestions, so a gray medium made sense)
Change Ogre for Dengeki Sentai Changeman (troll, oni, and dwarf were suggested, so Ogre fits, and his armor is meant to be kinda bulky)
a Silver Female for Choushinsei Flashman (other colors suggested were violet, which is why there's a faded violet accent color)
Magenta Crane for Chojuu Sentai Liveman (violet and pink were both popular suggestions, so this color is kinda in the middle)
Silver Turbo for Kousoku Sentai Turboranger (based on an Aston Martin Vanquish's engines; people also suggested teal or green color, which is why that has become an accent color)
Five Silver for Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman (lots of suggestions for subject, but I liked the art suggestion a couple people made)
Gray Eagle for Choujin Sentai Jetman (he's a slightly darker silver, so he's labeled as gray)

Gargoylemon's (appropriately) another ugly looking Digimon, but the animé artwork makes it look pretty good. Hopefully I've done a half decent job of making it somewhat elegant (especially with that mass of belts (seriously Digimon, isn't one enough?). I haven't done a 'true to Armor/Veemon' version because I intend to do a good job of it. I'll be doing (hopefully) decent reimagining of each set of Armor Digimon at the end.

Extra Ranger Project, Set 1

Phew! I think that's everyone. Thanks so much for the suggestions people, it's great to see all the different ideas!

The idea of this project is to create extra rangers for those series that didn't have one. I asked people to make suggestions for certain series and give color, gender, motif, etc. Then I kinda took what seemed to be the most popular of each category for each ranger and have made that. The easiest part was gender, as there's only two options. Everything else is kinda more difficult. When applicable, I'll be kinda merging to colors together because both were popular choices. For instance, some people might've suggested gold or black for an accent color, instead of choosing one or the other, I went with a dark gold accent color. And for the most part, if armor was suggested, the ranger will get it. That doesn't apply too much here, except for the extra for Dynaman, but it will later on in future sets.

From left-right:

Big 2 (kinda the opposite of Big 1, both in color and gender) for J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai
Queen of England (rather than Battle Britain) for Battle Fever J
Denji Violet for Denshi Sentai Denziman
Vul Swan for Taiyou Sentai Sun Vulcan
Goggle Silver for Dai Sentai Goggle V
Dyna Silver for Kagaku Sentai Dynaman (armor based on catcher's gear to follow the baseball-esque motif)

I had really hoped to have these up earlier, and actually all at once. But it kinda works out because there will be 21 rangers, so three sets of seven will be good. This set is for the series Goranger-Dynaman. As you can tell, female rangers were a pretty popular choice for this set, as was silver. I hope to have the next set up sooner rather than later.

Neither of the reference images I found for Depthmon had a decent pose - the Bandai one was sort of swimming to the side and the Toei one was face on. So I hazarded a guess at a three quarter view. The Reliability Digiegg version is just a recolour. At some point I'll do a proper version of each armor Digimon but I'll do that after everything's been made because I want to get everything out of the way first.

Evil Red Buster

This is another suit design from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. Probably one of the cooler villainous ranger suits, this is Evil (or Dark if you prefer) Red Buster. In the last couple episodes of the series, Enter moves onto his final stage of evolution/trying to become more human, assimilating data from Hiromu and the other Go-Busters, morphing into this evil ranger. Enter even uses the "Let's Morphin'" phrase kinda to mock the heroes, and even has his own version of Red Buster's lame Volcanic Attack (among copying other movements from the team). The Vaglass insignia's are a nice touch too, and Enter's brace is even changed and more sinister looking. However, I'm not too fond of all the little circles all over the place.

I definitely like the suit, it's a definite change from the standard Go-Buster suits. Same general color scheming and parts, so it looks eerily similar to the heroic suit. But it's a great evil design. That's one thing I do like about Go-Busters, the suit designs, and this is no different. The Evil Red Buster suit is great. It exaggerates the cheetah motif of Red Buster's helmet, making it look like a much larger and fiercer cat. I've seen some people speculate his animal motif would be a cobra due to the 'hood' and the shoulder pads though. I kinda like that cobra pairing, but just a bigger cat makes more sense to me.

Honeybeemon - not much to do to this one. I made it about the size of Veemon because it's supposed to be rather small compared to other Armor Digimon.
The Digiegg of Knowledge probably has the most consistent designs. Three of the Digimon actually have the yellow armour already. For the altered sprite, all I did is expose part of Veemon's torso and recolour the face and horn.

Enter Beet Buster

I'm trying to round out all the other junk and suits from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. In the HBV, Enter placed a Vaglass virus in J which corrupted his programming and allowed him (Enter) to change into a version of Beet Buster. Complete with some long coattails and circuit-like designs all over. Of course this also led to some fun interactions between Jin and J, and it all works out eventually as J is restored and Jin recovers his changer.

The circuitry was kinda difficult just because it's so small and detailed on the actual suit. It was more challenging on the visor because it's a small workspace in pixels and there's a lot more detail on the actual suit.

I wonder what could possibly be next...

Sethmon's an odd one. He's the only Love evolution (except for Halsemon) that follows the Egyptian, theme rather than flight, and has the Digiegg of Love as its armour. He's rather weird looking though...

Finally finished this one. Jeez.....I have to say I like how it came out. Maybe I could have tried working a bit more into the background but that will be next time. There might be some anatomy/perspective errors out there, I won't be surprised xD

Anyways, it looks like Samus is in a jam. There's a sentry turret right at the end of the hall and the last thing she wants is being fired upon, especially in her Zero-suit. I wonder how she will escape??

Oh, I do plan to do a fanart involving Samus in her Power Suit. When? Not sure. Depends how much I laze around

Go-Buster's Pink Buster

The final homemade type 'ranger' character for me to make throughout Super Sentai. I'll admit, this suit has a lot more to it than Abare Pink or White Racer, but I'm still not fond of it...or the character. Maybe if the character had appeared early on and made a couple other appearances throughout the series, I might've liked it more. But for a single episode, it just seemed like a gigantic waste of time. She wasn't all to interesting to me, though frankly, not much of Go-Busters was.

Anyway, Pink Buster is a thief or something that eventually fights along Red Buster. Not the whole team, just him. In one battle. Like I said, waste of time. Although she seems based on some kind of cat or cutesy type of cub mammal, we never got an idea as to what. So as far as I'm concerned, there's no potential more legit 'ranger suit' for Pink Buster. This is it.

Info:
One of the arms monster forms Kivala can assumes by the power of Syren Rifle.

In this form, Kivala had higher hearing sense and sight angle and range. Other stats are the same as Kivala Form.

She is armed with Syren Rifle, which can be use in Barrage Mode (higher rate of fire, less shooting power and shorter distance) and Length Mode (Low rate of fire, higher shooting power and further distance); like other weapons of arms monster forms, Syren Rifle was actually the arms monster in weapon form: a mermaid named Syren. The fins on Syren Rifle are actually the counter-measurement to recoils, as they spins when shooting.

Finisher:
-Aquatic Blast (アクアティックブラスト) - The Finisher of this form, in which Kivala shooting a powerful blast. It only worked on Length Mode.

Story:
When they arrived in a world which is populated by Mermaids and Mermans, Natsumi and friends was meet by a mysterious mermaid Syren; she warn them to not going closer to Hell Sea Forest, because people in villages believe there are a monster in there which eating people alive. No one was able to get out of that forest.

However, one of the enemy group’s leaders was able to capture the monster and then remodel and brainwash it. He orders it to cause the rampages on several villages.

Natsumi arrived to the scene and transform into Kamen Rider Kivala, fight against the remodeled monster, but its body armor is too tough, even the Kivala Saber and Ghost Daggers are not working against it.

As Kivala having a tough fight against the monster, Syren arrived on the scene, she then transform into the Syren Rifle to let Kivala gaining the Syren Form. Kivala was then found the monster’s weakness; its body armor’s seams are the opening. She continues to attacks its weak point to the point where the monster’s armor was heavy damage. She then finished off the monster by shooting the Aquatic Blast.

Shortly after the fight, Natsumi asked Syren why she is able to transform into weapons. Syren told her the reason she is able to do that is because she accidentally touched and absorbed the mysterious thing (the Seal Rifle) 2 years ago.

When Natsumi and friends are prepared to leave this world, they find out that Syren was following them. Syren asked Natsumi to let her join them, in which she accepted.

Another non-ranger character from Super Sentai. This here is Smoky from Mahou Sentai Magiranger. He's pretty much the genie cat that resides in Magi Shine's lamp gun thing. He can become human sized, and if I remember, giant sized. So by all accounts, like Zuban from GoGo Sentai Boukenger. Weapon, check; human-sized, check; giant-sized, check. Zuban gets labelled as an Extra Hero type, Smoky doesn't. But whatever, it's fine.

Pretty fun design. This is actually my second time around making Smoky. I've long since deleted the old version, but I think this is a much better depiction of Smoky. Especially in the face. The entire Ozu family/actual Magirangers can be found here: [link]

I'm pretty sure I gave up halfway through making this sprite.

I like Yasyamon. I'm not really a fan of Puppet Digimon but Yasyamon looks more like a warrior than anything. Not quite sure why it has a teddy bear strapped to its back. I didn't want to do anything to change it for the 'Digiegg-loyal' version. I recoloured the mask to green but other than that, I didn't want to do anything to its armour. I may do another version at some point.

Sepikmon's one of the cooler designs for Armor Digimon. After watching Digimon Frontier, I was a bit creeped out by the fact the mask's mouth moves. I always imagined there was a monkey face behind that thing
Considering Patamon becomes Stegomon (a dinosaur Digimon like Ankylomon), I feel like this is another case where he and Armadillomon should switch evos. Still cool though

Some Digimon designs aren't Spriter-friendly. I don't really like Baromon as Patamon's Courage evo - I think it would make far more sense as a regular Digimon. Considering TK thought Patamon was a pig, it would have made more sense if Boarmon was Patamon's instead of Armadillomon's. I've also just realised that Boarmon and Baromon are anagrams of each other...

I looked up the origin of Baromon's design (Barong) and decided to just do a recolour like the others I've done so far. I probably could have fitted in Patamon ears or a Digiegg of Courage horn somewhere but it would have looked more cluttered than it already is (and wouldn't be faithful to the Barong design)

Bioman's Magne Warrior

So I guess I'm still on a bit of a Sentai kick here. This is something that was kinda challenging, due to the grand total of around four pictures of this character. This is Magne Warrior fromthe Super Sentai series Choudenshi Bioman. He's apparently a prototype sixth ranger character. Though to me, it's just a guy in a suit. I've never watched Bioman so I don't know the context of the story beyond what I've read here and there, but his suit's design shares nothing with the Bioman suits. Nothing. So I don't really get the whole 'prototype' argument if he looks nothing like them. Heck, the other 'prototype', X1 Mask from Maskman at least shares a similar suit design to his team. Just another thing I don't really get with Bioman, but it's whatever.

Some of the suit is kinda guess work based on a few shots of different parts of the suit. And I'm not even sure if this is 100% accurate. It's the closest I think I can get from the few "decent" old low-quality pictures I could find of the suit.

I always thought this was a bit of a bizarre design but it actually looks like a 'real' Armor Digivolution compared to a lot of the others. I also did a recolour of him to show what it would look like if it were more faithful to Wormmon and the Digiegg of Searchmon.

wirklich zufrieden bin ich mit dem ganzen hier jetzt nich aber besser krieg ichs atm net hin.
da ich grad bissl auf stilsuche bin wollt ich mal was realistischeres probiern aber es liegt mir net und is so anstrengend. fehler verbessern is so sehr aufwändig. außerdem hab ich die dumme angewohnheit alles auf den ebenen zu verteilen so dass es nich leichter wird zu korrigieren^^' deswegen verbesser ich auch ihr linkes auge nich das is irgendwie auch zu weit außen^^'
also werd ich mich wohl wieder auf bilder mit outlines konzentrieren die machen mir irgendwie mehr spaß und gehen leichter von der hand *da auch rumpanschen kann*

eigentlich mag ich hagoromo-gitsune gar nich aber ihr design hat mir doch sehr gefallen. vor allem die augen*__* darum hab ich sie doch gemalt XD
ach ja und ihre hautfarbe passt schon in etwa so sie hat weiße haut eigentlich. das muster auf der grünen jacke hab ich aus faulheit weggelassen
nu will ich mezumaru malen *__* aber mit outlines XD

One of the arms monster forms Kivala can assumes by the power of Trytera Dagger and Raptelia Dagger.

In this form, Kivala had higher moving speed than the others to the point where she can disappear at one place and appear at the other place. She also had the ability to make herself invisible while in this form.

She is armed with two daggers: the Trytera Dagger and Raptelia Dagger, holding on the right hand and left hand respectively. These are actually the arms monsters in weapon form: the ghost sisters Trytera and Raptelia, who are originally the villagers on the ghost world.

During Kivala (Natsumi) having trouble while fighting against the Taboo Dopant replicas, the ghost sisters borrows the legendary Seal Daggers from the village in order to help Natsumi. The Seal Daggers, however, absorbs into the ghost sisters and they gain the ability to transforms into the daggers as a result.

This lead to the event where Kivala gaining the Trytelia Form and destroys all of the Taboo Dopant replicas. After they heard from Natsumi about the new evils, the ghost sisters are decided to go with her, become the new allies to Natsumi.

Unusual for an arms monster form, this form requires two arms monsters. It is unknown if it will take toll on Natsumi or not.

The form’s motif is ghost and reptile. These reflected to what species Trytera and Raptelia are before they become the ghosts.

Finisher:
-Trytelia Rush (トライテリアラッシュ) – The finisher of this form. It’s a series of high-speed multiple attacks. First, Kivala will attacks the enemy with high-speed slashes, and then finish it off with a powerful cross slash. It can be use on multiple enermies.

Well, here we go! Most likely my last upload of the year, so I might as well go out with something cool.

These are the heroes of the upcoming Super Sentai series for 2013, Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (獣電戦隊キョウリュウジャー). The theme is dinosaurs and electricity, with the dinosaur mechas' powers and/or abilities are contained within electric batteries.

I've decided to update and change their roll calls slightly. Though I'm not exactly a fan of "brave" being used in place of "hero", I'll use it.

As I'm sure everyone knows by now, and likely found out weeks ago, there is no yellow this year. There hasn't been a yellow senshi since Changeman. And yes, if Saban adapted this series, it would be the first Power Rangers without a yellow ranger. It's a change. I'm not the biggest fan of the change, but I'll get used to it.
As for the rest of the designs. The helmets were a pain to pixel on this scale. Each helmet has a white outline and then some yellow accent for the rest of the mouth or teeth. That was very problematic, but I'm happy enough with how they came out. I do think the negative space with the visor surrounding the faceplate is very weird though. The teeth on red and green were difficult to get to look decent.
The scales on the arms are interesting. I think it's funny that we get pants for the last four years in the design, now we have sleeves. The sash going across the chests is kinda cool. I didn't like it at first, but I like the cleverness of it now. The sash is actually the team's symbol, being a dinosaur's head with teeth. Also, ever notice how asymmetrical sashes in Sentai designs always go from the left shoulder to the right waist? Odd. The symbols in the first 'tooth' are representative of each rangers' dinosaur.
What would be the yellowish amber color on Kyoryu Cyan becomes a faded gold. Cyan is also a heavier fella, so his body is the same base I used for other larger Sentai members like Yellow Owl from Jetman and Kiranger from Goranger. Kinda funny that both the other heavier members are the yellows of their teams, and Kyoryuger has no yellow. I am excited to see future additional Kyoryugers though, that's awesome.
Kyoryu Gold has yet to be revealed in-series. He's apparently a samurai that's been sealed away in Dogold's armor for a few centuries. I like the slight changes to his suit, and love his helmet. And I like that the indigo color isn't over used like with other Sentai golds.

That's pretty much all I've got about these designs. I'm excited to get something new with the tragic awfulness that is Go-Busters. I can't wait for that series to end.

**Updated 4/3/13 with the core five's "Armed On" right arm armor, Kyoryu Cyan, and Kyoryu Gold. Also changed up their belts (slightly) and a few helmet lines.**
