12 hrs total

minimal postwork:
2 layers - pink and blue skin + green and blue skin.
there was a rendered background, but it just felt wrong, so i got rid of it.

first use of my new eye network. for some reason the right eye keeps rescaling on opening the file the first time. then i reload the file and it's ok. strange. ]]> merfolk.

Finally I got some time to draw something, after having a whole month of break away from it ^^ And this drawing is the result of it

I wanted to take my previous eye-drawing, "Every Rose Has Its Thorns", to a more challenging level when it comes to the amount of details. It was a very hard job (especially when I think of that I haven't even hold a pencil in my hand for a whole month ^^), but now that it's finished, I'm so filled with joy because of the result and how fun in general it was to draw

In fact, this is one of my drawings which I'm the most satisfied with ^^

A. No; i covered it with an adhesive laminate which'll prevent it from deteriorating.

Q. What did you draw it on?
A. I drew on a regular ol' pickguard, albeit one covered with a large permanent Avery label. I used Sakura Microns for the actual inking. I drew it in pencil first, then erased.

Q. Do you sell this kind of work? Will you make me one?
A. Heck yes! Whether you want to send in your pickguard or you want me to buy a new one for me to work with, it's fine with me. You can even tell me the subject matter you want me to base my drawing off of. I won't do it for free--it takes a ridiculously long time--but i'll do it for cheap. For this project I replicated a job my work did for Sony. In the real job they had to manipulate real photos and work them into one. This 3D replication was done to see if I could achieve an equal looking result in 3D and also to add to company’s portfolio.
Some of use might have seen the original of this in a magazine.

Original render was 2000x2500 pixels and took 3 days to render. ]]>
