This investigation took nearly a month to do. It is basically around a dozen screenshots of deviantART's home page and a description of how it has changed.

This took a lot of work, so I would be grateful for any feedback (good or bad). I encourage you all to take a look at it, I think you will all find it interesting to see how this community has evolved.

One last thing: it is quite a large image, I apologize for that. Any smaller would make some of the things in the screenshots hard to see.

But that's it folks; in all it's glory. HQ is a converted garage/guest house in the back of my home; dA HQ began in my bedroom believe it or not. It was quite a luxury to be able to eventually move it outside of my sleeping quarters.

Initially it was all plain 2x4 colored wood. After many long nights of staining and painting (with $spot sometimes) we made it look pretty decent. The desk I bought for $150 at an Indian furniture shop on La Brea that had a blowout sale.

And the space is really fun.. lots of space for art work. (Shelves and what not.) It used to be a library of the old doctor that used to live in this house. He had thousands of books, and lined the walls with them. The books were all taken out before we moved in; but the shelves remain.

I got an awesome deal on that plasma about a year ago; ever since we've been working on and testing such things as deviantART TV. Part of our vision in the future is to be on every type of screen; $chris got one around the same time, it was a total splurge but has been really useful.

Behind me you'll see two `jasinski prints. Disco Blues from right around the time the print program launched has been the best selling print. And he's also one of my favorite artists on the site; I recently purchased an original from him that I'm really proud of. ]]>
