By popular request, we've implemented the ability to change the Share status of multiple deviations at once.  To do so, simply visit Manage Deviations, select the deviations you'd like to update, and click the 'More actions...' drop-down.  You're set!

The Groups platform is currently in a closed-beta phase.  During the last couple of months, we've rolled out roughly 30 different groups to help us test features, hunt for bugs, and gain invaluable user feedback.  During this time, all deviants (Premium Members and non-Premium Members alike) have been able to join and participate in the created groups.  However, deviants were limited to joining only one group in an administrative role -- until now.

Taking into account deviant feedback, and after much deliberation, we've decided to abandon the Groupies member class and eliminate all Groupie/Watcher ambiguity.  Over the course of the last few weeks, we learned that many deviants were confused about the role and purpose of Groupies.  To make the Groups platform all the easier to understand, we've decided that simplicity is the best model.  To compensate for Groupies being merged with Watchers, we're upping the group administrative member limit to 99.

A deviant's Message Center is his or her portal into the deviantART community.  It's similar to a deviantART-specific inbox that pulls in various details and information deviants have 'subscribed' to in some manner -- through +watching other deviants, commenting on news articles or forum posts, getting alerted about special contests or events via Hot Topics, and so on.  The Message Center is a one stop shop for news and updates and is often the very first page deviants check when visiting the site.

Devious Technology has been at it again.  And this time, they've enhanced Group Notes to allow for better reading, replying, and record keeping (aka organization).

Not only has the Group Notes area been touched with a pretty stick and given a UI face-lift (including a helpful line of preview text for each note), but features like the ability to mark messages as important and archive old messages allow for easier control to what matters most -- bringing your Groups inbox a sense of peace and harmony.

A few more tweaks have made their way to a deviantART Menu near you!  The menu beside the deviantART logo is now super-wide and organized, so that hunting and pecking for your favorite page links is no longer required.

The main menu does lose its customization ability in favor of giving the same organized menu to all deviants, but the Stick Menu (now with more space for items) retains all its ability to be customized!

The good people of Devious Technology (:devdt:) are doing a behind-the-scenes upgrade of the whole site -- at least the CSS -- which will mostly only affect Internet Explorer.

"How will it affect Internet Explorer?" you ask.  Well, if you're using version 8 (and most of you are!), or even version 7, you should get a nice speed boost when browsing the site, as your browser will be using the latest version of its rendering system!

As you may have noticed, we've recently made some changes to deviantART's search -- as we've limited search to displaying the first 1,000 results.  This change was brought about because of technical limitations.  However, with the 1,000 search result limit now implemented, we're able to provide a faster and more stable search function to deviantART's community.

We just released some updates to make it easier to update your profile. When we released Groups, we added in a more streamlined approach for customizing pages. Because we received such positive feedback, we decided to apply similar functionality for userpages. With this change, you should find it much easier to update your profile because you will no longer have to scroll all over to edit your info.

With this improvement, it's time to dust off your profile and do some spring cleaning! :la: It's always important to have fresh content on your page and to keep your bio information up to date.

Still, we knew the 1,000 result limit was necessary in order for search to function properly for all deviants.  (Remember, it was implemented after many months of the search function failing to work on a regular basis.)  We made the change knowing it was a temporary fix and never stopped working towards a better overall solution.

As reported in a recent site-wide Hot Topic, our Devious Technology team has been hard at work creating a tool that better allows us to identify and block ads that auto-play audio and/or contain malicious content.  After testing internally, we're ready to release the tool to a wider deviantART audience.

We just released a new feature to Beta Testers that adds more context to the experience of viewing artwork on deviantART.  You'll now find comment counts underneath the thumbnails of deviations -- they can be seen when browsing or searching art, and also display in your Message Center.  We hope this feature will h ]]>
