I was recently informed that my dad may not have much longer to live due to heart conditions, but of all the things to do before his death, seeing me is not one of them because his wife wont allow it and he cant be bothered to care. Its weird to find out that while my dad is still alive, the last time I saw him 3 years ago is the last time I will ever see him again.

Its hard to fight back the memories of how much things have changed since my youth, so I will just embrace it instead.

Its funny how they used to say that they did everything for my sake. Im sure they actually believed it themselves back then, but time has a way of changing people. I cant help but find it ironic that the things they did to help the family ultimately torn it apart. Never coming home to make money, going abroad to study; distance makes the heart grow cold, and time weathers down all promises.

I had always been very understanding of their divorce. Hey, it happens. But as they built new lives, it became evident that I was not included. It doesnt matter now, but at the time, I was still a minor and had to depend on them. Its just like a slap in the face when your own mother tells you that you have nothing because your father didnt pay for it. Adding to the list of things I dont have is the right to see my dad before his death. The leftover child of that failed marriage is no longer a concern.

I feel so bitter right now its fucking disgusting.

My deepest apologies ms.~rainbowhighway88 for the rather lengthy delay in finishing this piece...T__T I promise to bring you an extra something to compensate. ^^ I hope I had reached your expectations

Done in pencil and ink. Added some vintage tones using Adobe Photoshop. I was really frustrated in the scanning process, since the bristol board wouldn't fit. I had to scan it in two separate parts and match the colors and tones together...which was difficult as hell.

Anywho, I'm so proud of this piece ^^ It seemed like an extremely daunting task, since I haven't drawn more than one character in a single piece. But I certainly enjoyed experimenting in creating a new style of drawing / renderning.

Oh and Blue Line Pro bristol boards are awesome. Using them makes me feel like a real comic book artist LOLZ.

Though I've only watched 3 or 5 episodes of Samurai Champloo...this commission had inspired me to go and finish the whole series

You know, I used to live in Florida for 10 years and then finally moved to Maryland. And when the news of Trayvon Martin came out, I was upset but not surprised.

Why wasnt I surprised? Because, unfortunately, thats the way in happens in Florida. Its just that finally we said enough. And I agree.

Trayvon was just a young man, junior going to his senior year in High School and lived in Miami and was visiting his dad in Sanford, Fl (North of Orlando). I bet he was exposed to different nationalities in his school in Miami (because I went to a Middle School and had my freshman year in there as well and its such a wonderful experience). I am sure that, nowhere in his head, he would have thought he was going to get killed because he looked suspicious from George Zimmerman, a man that had an opinion already of those people who always get away.

And it might be because he was black (which is likely the case) in a gated community. Or maybe Zimmerman was crazy nuts that day. Or both. What it pains me its that we have to pressure the government for a FAIR TRIAL to process this young mans murder. Why? He deserved it the moment Zimmerman made that choice to kill him. Who stripped away his right if he was born in American Ground?

What happened to you, Sanford Police? Do you still think he was a Second-Class Citizen? What does Zimmerman knows or has in order for you to protect his behind so much? Please, allow me to THINK he has something. I ask you this to not allow me to consider that he was covered because of something as shallow as Trayvon being black. Or maybe Trayvon having the wrong Arizona Iced Tea flavor or snack you happen to not like instead of a gun, since he was unarmed and thats what he had on his pockets that day.

I believe in the Police. I believe in different races getting along. I believe in the United States. But why do these rotten apples need to stink it for everybody that want to get along in peace?

And those were my thoughts when I did this piece. I might have the courage to put my face on a Youtube video and express my opinions one day but, I am who I am and this is the best way I can express my disappointment and anger to what happened to this young man that unfortunate February rainy Floridian afternoon.

It's FINALLY here, guys! BASTION!!! I am so excited to announce that Bastion, the fruit of a small group of dedicated game devs' passionate labor is finally available on XBLA at this very moment !

Thank you for all your guys' support through my silent disappearances whilst toiling away on this project. At the very least, if you have the time I'd love for you guys to give the trial a go and see if you like it! Hint-hint - the trial is free ;D!

A little background: I had the fantastic opportunity to function as the Art Director and sole 2D artist on the team ! For better or for worse, all environmental art, UI, textures, and many of the designs were created within the last year!
