w/ a few hours to go till day 08 is done, I might do another after dinner.

but anyway, now to the animated feature that soon came after an American Tail that seriously did it for me.
During the time of my huge fascination of Dinosaurs, this only piqued my interest even more. Not only was this film beautifully animated, but it's one that had me tearing up every time I'd watch it.
so much emotion in this film.
I love it.

Don Bluth's 1988 Masterpiece 'the Land Before Time'

This shall always remain as one of my all time favorite animated features to date.

The custom is, of course, my favorite. Again, thanks to Anthony's Customs [link] for it. I also really like the large Applause Demona, such a shame it was mass released with black hair. The small one has a charm to it, I enjoy.

The Kenner Demona, well, I always thought it was a crummy figure. Especially standing next to the rest of these.

The outside of her wings should be a darker color, though...

Original custom pony, "Demona", based on Disney's gargoyles. This piece was done on a whim when I realized the voice actress who played Demona, Marina Sirtis, was going to be at a convention I plan on attending this weekend. I'm hoping to get her autograph on the pony, if possible.

Demona's cutie mark is the show's classic "Gargoyles" banner logo, except that instead of the standard Goliath silhouette I free-styled a silhouette of Demona. This image helped me put together the basic crouching posture: [link]

Further along now. There's still plenty of work on the wings and hair to be done especially, but other missing details at this stage are easy enough to see. This is her without her removable crown, which will be added later via a white metal casting.

Demona from Gargoyles
Disney released their set of official Gargoyles, I didn't like the sculpt they used for Demona. (Didn't stop me from getting one signed by Marina Sirtis though). Anyways I customized this version from a WildC.A.T.S. Zealot basically keeping the face, body structure and gun. The hair, claws, wings, tail, clothes and other pointy things were all sculpted by me.
Demona has her requisite blaster, the Eye of Odin (tucked in on her belt) and the spellbook, the Grimorum Arcanorum.

I was in the VA hospital waiting room yesterday practically all day waiting on a surgical consult. While waiting I spent entirely too much time doodling gargoyles... and realized it'd been years since I tried my hand at Demona (for such a straightforward character design, she's harder to capture than you'd realize)... it seems I've gotten a bit better at getting her down on paper. Still not perfect, she doesn't have the exact right "feel" but it's closer than ever. Yay for Demona!

I ended up mostly using pieces of pictures and making my own brushes, but I did use brushes by:

- Wing pieces, sparkles, hair, lips, eyelashes, grass, foliage, and light beams.

and Hair.

For additional sparkles.

I put a mature content warning on it JUST IN CASE, because there is quite a bit of cleavage showing, plus she's smuggling peanuts. Hey, that's how Bakshi designed her, that's how she is in the movie.

Oh yeah - I don't own Elinore. "Wizards" and all related characters are property of Ralph Bakshi.

Nausicaa Bird Costume

This a old Horseclaw costume I built, it's a bird creature from Studio Ghilbi's movie "Nausicaa Valley of the Wind" (though many think it's a dark Chocobo) I built this mostly with sculpted foam and fabric & fur. You see through the saddle, and then the front of the bird is all puppetry and stands at about 10 ft tall. The eyes are a blue LED..

Kamina from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - in muffin form.

The muffin is blueberry, picked to match his tattoos. Blue icing for hair. Sunglasses are foam - shine added with pen. Cape is felt with a painted emblem, and yellow-gold embroidery thread.

i drew this during otakon 2010. my boy dom wanted a picture of morrigan for his girlfriend, and i wanted it to be special. so i wanted to take morrigan in a different level away from her typical sexy self. so i wanted morrigan depicted in the most unflattering, unsexy way. not surprisingly, there are several folks out there that will believe this is still hot.

SPOILERS! For the Gargoyles continuation comic. This was a monstrous piece. I drew them in pairs according to their ethnicity. Some you may recognize from the show, and others are new characters introduced in the official continuation comic (Volume 2 NOW AVAILABLE ON SALE HERE SO BUY IT NOOOOWWW!!!: [link]):

So yeah, I did not make any of them up.

From left to right:

1) Ophelia - Avalon Clan. Scottish descent. She's Gabriel's mate. For heaven's sake their kids would have over 9000 horns D8
2) Sacrifice - Wyvern Clan. Also Scottish. Showed up briefly in the comic and didn't really have an official name. But she died saving her mate so she deserves a spot. Webbed wings! Like Lexington XD
3) Constance A.K.A. "Coco" - London Clan. Shows up in the comic. She was awesome fun.
4) Una - London Clan. Arguably the most hardass of the group here despite the sparkly pink and feathers.
5) Turquesa - Mayan Clan. She reminds me of Pocahontas 8D
6) Obsidiana - Mayan Clan. She gave me so much trouble.
7) Katana - Ishimura Clan (Feudal Era). Brooklyn's Mate. And this is also her OFFICIAL design. That's right. CANON: [link] I simplified her outfit however, which, to be honest, I hated when I first saw. It doesn't even look practical or WEARABLE. I couldn't figure how it worked or wrapped around her. So I changed it
8) Sora - Ishimura Clan. Also Yama's mate. She needs more love too.

F*ck this was a monster. Nearly killed my eyes AND my hand.

Okay, so I promised updates on the condition that I would do well on Midterms (which I didn't)... so much time devoted to trying to fix that instead of posting art (sorry!)
