Jami-Themed Sketchbook

So ~ceceme12's birthday was today and there were a few points I wanted to hit with my present for her: a) hand-made, b) functional (especially artistically) and c) personalized. So I decided to make her a Jami-themed sketchbook. The pages are 6x9" and it's about 95(?) pages. Green cover since that's Lucy and Jami's favorite color (with brown and orange since I've always associated AALC with those colors. I'll blame Renny for that lol. And the spirals made me think of Jami too, I don't know why. I thought the fabric was just perfect though XD). And then the little bottle filled with black glitter since Jami likes to keep Petunia's vial nearby lol.

On the front inside cover there's Jami talking to Leon, Henry looking a little frustrated, Becca being Becca and Jami being surprised at how quick she was to consider her a friend, then there's Owen trying to be cool with Esteban and Jami pretending not to notice him, and then Jami sitting on like a roof or something lol. If you notice, she's wearing the necklace Leon gave her in all her pictures ;D And that dress from like her first ref. It's a classic! X'D The inside back cover was a little chat RP me and ~ceceme12 had with Leon and Jami where they flew to England to meet Jami's mom lol.

Anywho! I made this back in July, and my markers dried up while I was coloring it; I finally buckled down today and finished coloring the rest digitally! Some of the art's pretty wonky, but I really love the results!

Oh my Glob! This is a fan art of one of the series that I have found more enjoyable those last years.
The amout of originality on everything that Ooo have to share is beyond words. Every character, no matter how little it is, is loveable.

Wanted to add the logo, but it is a copyrighted stuff, so I just did the drawing.

First time using the vector tools for a whole piece! (=
Loving the results, but if you are not carefull enough, you will loose track of your layers.

Try to name all the characters on the Katamari! (and tell me what figure is the Katamari. It's easy!)

Last weekend, my friend and I put together her first diary. We picked everything out and I let her customize everything, including the inside pages. We then put it all together ourselves following the wonderful tutorial by =JamesDarrow, which is linked below. It was a lot of work (this was my second one) but it turned out pretty good. I'm still getting the hang of doing everything, and sadly it was my first time using adhesive spray glue, so I got covered with the stuff. But we weren't that stupid and did it outside.

Here is my entry for Summer-themed contest!

Summary of long description: This is the food I like to eat in the summertime.

Long description:
Up front is a plate of seared ahi tuna on a bed of quinoa salad with a side of avocado. This was actually a real dish my mother prepared for us a few weeks ago. The real quinoa salad ~~I inhaled~~ had quinoa, cucumber, celery, goji berries, and a special sauce, so I tried to include all of those goodies in the miniature version. It was a healthy yet appropriately substantial meal, which I thought was perfect for a summer dish

In the heart-shaped vessel lies a strawberry pie. Since strawberries thrive in the summertime, we visited the local farm and bought a buttload of fresh strawberries and made some in to a pie. It came out pulchritudinous (thank you thesaurus.com!). And so I did what I always do when I see pretty food, make it in clay. That's the first thought I have when I see attractive grub now

There's a cup of passion fruit bubble tea too... I find them very refreshing on an eyeball-scorching day.

A book I made for a friend so she can keep all her memories of Edinburgh in it. It took me quite a while, because she wasn't too keen on my initial ideas + I wanted it to be special.

Lamb leather, artist paper (I think it has a bit more than 90 pages), waxed cotton string, cotton fabric, leather string, one stone with the Scotland flag on it, flour paste.

A couple of months ago, Kinoshita-sensei gave me these old notebooks that are used for writing Japanese. However, I've been afraid to use them because the binding was falling apart. I finally took the time to re-bind them and make nice protective covers for them. I'm really happy with how the turned out, and hopefully they won't be falling apart on me anytime soon. I'm very excited to show Sensei what I did with his gift ^^}
