Hydra I

The hydra are a reptile like, biologically immortal species. Every one to two years a hydra goes through a regeneration process called the Cycle where every single cell in their body dies and then immediately after regenerates. It’s a very painful and slow process since all the cells need to be regenerated in certain order and speed so that the individual will survive the Cycle. The older a hydra is, the longer and thus more painful the process will be. During the Cycle hydra are in a very vulnerable state and thus they usually travel back to their homeworld or a well-fortified starship built for the individuals to go through their Cycle’s in peace.

During the Cycle hydra can regenerate lost limbs, heal scars and cure diseases, but this greatly increases the pain level and the Cycle’s length. Hydra have only a handful of life-threatening diseases, and most of them affect the regeneration process, making it too strong or weak for the hydra to survive. Outwards the Cycle looks similar to amphibian skin shedding; as the skin tissue renegerates it leaves a slimy substance behind, which sheds off after a while. The new skin behind is a dramatically lighter than the old one, but the skin will fully get back it’s shiny black gloss in one or two months.

Hydra are one of the oldest known species and they see themselves as the highest form of all living things. While they might be somewhat arrogant, they’re not opposed to helping other species to evolve with their technology and knowledge. Hydra are territorial but overall not very aggressive so they tend to end up as scholars or diplomats rather than soldiers.

They’re born genderless but with a genetic code for either gender which activates around maturity. While hydra don’t have much sexual dimorphism based on body type, their marking colors are an easy way to tell the males and females apart. Male colors range from violet to light blue, while female’s from red to yellow. Young hydra don’t have markings at all and sometime before maturity the markings appear but are grey.

Both genders have a sexy walk.

EXPLANATION

This picture is directly related to ASH, showing a human-Hybrid Vulture, born a century after the Phenomenon Called Emergence.

Before humans were ever brought to Madrona as slaves, Cybernetic lifeforms were present and hiding in the Underground. It was after the first Dark era, where humans were released from slavery and some of them made contact with the ones they later named Scaves.

In their Original form, these robotic creatures evolved in Giant Cybernetic Nests, defending them from any threat. They attacked humans that were exploring their territory. Of course this lead to a situation that was very simple with more humans sent by the Dominion. This time they were helped by ascendants to give the same fate to the Scaves as they did with the darkness. Unlike their look, those creatures were the result of thousands of years evolution, capable to assimilate other life forms. They let humans and ascendants get far into their nest. Weeks later, strange Cybernetic hybrids emerged, with human features, even in their expressions...

Eeeeeh! I am so excited about the sharing the images from the photoshoot I recently did with Bryan Humphrey! More coming soon!

How I made this:
This costume was made in 50 hours, but only takes 5 minutes to put on lol. To match the hexagon fabric in the video game, I had the pattern designed by my friend Jinyo and printed up at Fabric On Demand. The secondary fabric is a rubber coated spandex.
Cathy of saved me hours of work by graciously letting me base my bodysuit off of the pattern she had made already for this same costume for a customer. I had to redesign most pieces of the pattern to fit my bodyshape and height, but it was nice to not have to make a full mock-up from scratch, and with my tight work schedule, I appreciated every second of time saved.
I sewed the costume entirely myself, as usual, making sure to triple-stitch the seams (100+ of them) and also top stitch all of them. I also made the matching accessories such as gloves/hood/ears/sculpted metal bits/altered boots etc.
I re-used the goggles from my other Catwoman costume because I kind of hate the design of the Arkham City goggles, and I already made perfectly usable Catwoman goggles before.

This is the first test of a full procedural generated city in 3DS MAX that I then painted over in SAI to take away the 3D look.

For more information on how I did this and other examples, please visit my tumblr post at [link]

This 3D plus hand paint over process reduces the time of drawing detailed city backgrounds by many folds I am still new at learning 3D city generation so this whole process took me about 6 hours from start to end, which is still a lot faster than hand painting from scratch.

I will post tutorials on how to do this once I get back from Anime Expo and San Diego Comic Con. Speaking of AX, I will be in the artist alley for all 4 days at tables A-16 to A18 I hope to see you there!!! More info plus map of table location at [link]

I've been wanting to do my classic GTA legends for a while, I can't believe it's been 3 and a half years since my last one. SO here we go, I've got 10 protagonists here including Albert De Silva from the upcoming GTA V, they're all just having a good time in (the new) San Andreas at Albert's mansion on the hills of Vinewood... looks like Niko can't handle how good GTA V looks compared to IV

I love cupcakes and thought that the Avengers would make the perfect decorations x) It's chocolate muffins with chocolate chips, chocolate frosting and then sugarpaste on top. I'm very happy with how they turned out. As usual, I couldnt be serious with the hulk. I really wanted to make a Bruce Banner cupcake but I didnt know how so it ended up as a hulk.

There are PLENTY of similar fanarts with the same exact title going around the net, but I swear I couldn't resist.

It all came from my sudden need to draw Tony after re-watching the first Iron Man (in which he was actually a well developed character, hence my favorite one). Then I thought that I loved Mark Ruffalo in The Avengers, and so I wanted to draw Hulk. So it was originally going to be just Tony and Hulk in that position.
Then I thought it would be fun to add Loki glaring at Tony. Then I discovered I probably have a crush on Thor and I wanted to draw him.
Then I wanted to draw Black Widow because I gotta practice in drawing girls, Cap hating Tony, and poor Hawkeye who is a little...excluded because *SPOILER* he was brainwashed for a way too large amount of time in the movie lol.

ANYWAY! Never thought I would say that, but I have to say I'm happy with how this turned out and I actually had fun drawing it!! Yesterday night I was still doing the sketch and then I was all tired from all the pressure I was putting into the pencil haha!! X'D
But the thing is, I think I managed to get Black Widow right, considering my usual (very low) standards of drawing girls! Yay!

About the movie...well, I wanna clear up already that I don't wanna start any fight with anyone lol. I enjoyed the movie very much, but all I can say is, there were lots of positive aspects, but there were also bad things...I speak movie-wise because I don't read the comics, but still. And I always end up comparing this kind of movies to the first Iron Man, which is my favorite and in which I believe Tony's character is perfectly written, so yeah, it could be that my personal attachment to that movie influences my opinion.

Of course this is my personal opinion, but many people seem to agree with some points...beware of little spoilerish hints

no seriously where is the character development. The way they interacted/fought with each other was awesome, but the only ones who actually showed some guts were Cap (I don't even like him that much) and Thor, in trying to get Loki back...and in the end Tony was just awesome and for a little moment I thought I was seeing the first Iron Man movie's Tony again. But then all the tension miserably crashed with the most predictable finale ever and I felt all empty even though everything was fine but that's the way I am I guess OKAY I'LL SHUT UP NOW.

OH NO ANOTHER LONG DESCRIPTION!! I was trying to lose this habit a bit, or at least confine it haha!!
Well, I just hope you enjoy the drawing as much as I did while drawing it! <3

"ALICE IN WONDERLAND: Picture Yourself in Wonderland CONTEST"

I couldnt avoid entering this contest since I simply adore Alice in Wonderland. It has always been my favourite fable since I was a child. As soon as I tried to imagine me in Wonderland, what I saw was just what I drew: in my dreams, in my imagination, everything always comes directly out of my passion.
My love for drawing, that means to tell a story through images, helps me expressing myself but, above all, conveying emotions and making them come true.
My ideal Wonderland is a place where my dreams come to life and dont simply remain written on a piece of paper.

While drawing, the beautiful movie soundtrack was a great source of inspiration for me. I hope youll enjoy my interpretation.

I've done the latest incarnation of Aya-chan, the mermaid mascot of AyaCon, a UK anime convention. I may be doing more artwork for this con over the next few months, look out for them.

Gotham City Sirens

This is a limited edition print made for this year's San Diego Comic Con. I was midway through working on this when I saw had posted his own Comic Con Sirens print. Total coincidence but I have to concede the facts: He was first and his version is terrific.

I was originally going to incorporate traditionally inked line-work into this but, due to time constraints, I was forced to fall back to my typical digital methods.

I found myself staring at a lot of 's gorgeous art while looking for costume reference because, well, he's just an incredible talent and no one else on the planet depicts these three characters better. So yes, his work influenced me a lot here. Consciously and subconsciously. Thanks for the inspiration Adam.

Hope to see you at Comic Con(Table CC-18 in Artist Alley)! Again, supplies are limited so snag one if can!

The left Pactio Card with the maid cat-outfit is the result from the Konosetsu pactio. It seems it will be Setsuna’s main battle outfit. I hope in the future she’ll have more variety its cute and all but just lack a little seriousness.

The right Pactio Card is the fanart I drawn for a wallpaper. I was pretty curious how it would fare if I put it a card. I was surprised that it looked pretty authentic don’t you think?! ^^

This is a piece of fanart I created for the upcoming 'downloadable content' for Xbox360.

Meet Luis 'Fernando' Lopez the bodyguard to the nightclub manager Tony "Gay Tony" Prince who is shitting him self in the passenger seat... This scene is actually exactly the same as in Liberty City, it's just up the road from the "Comedy Club". This nightclub caught my eye so I thought I'd use it... Haha hoping it's part of the actual game haha!

This would definitely be one of my favorite and most enjoyable pieces I've done yet, I've really learnt alot of new tricks from making this

I hope you enjoy this, the game is GONNA ROCK... HARD!!! I think it's released on October 28th.. A few days after by B-day YEEEAH!!!

Yeah I know, I just could help myself to create yet another GTA pic...

It’s kinda strange, I was sitting there thinking of what to do for a new pic.. I just started sketching and it hit me like a massive bit of masonry falling from a high building, or a truck driving over you’re foot..

Tommy Vercetti... I’ve been wanting to create a real Vice City picture for a long time! I can’t believe I didn’t do one sooner, this was too much fun to make and I’ve learnt alot of things.

Look closely and you can see Lance Vance (the backstabbing prick) giving Tommy the sly-eye, as if to say “I’m in it for the money brother”...

This picture was all created in Photoshop CS and took around 9-10hrs... Lets just say I wasn’t in a hurry, haha too busy soaking up the vibes

GTA: LEGENDS III

FEEEWWW! That was an effort
I must say this is definitely the BIGGEST piece of artwork I've ever done..

I'm afraid to say this took me over 25hours.. But I loved making every part, It was so enjoyable making this, especially the background..

I'm glad I decided to make the scene in The Malibu from Vice City, I was so close to having a "gaming scene" but this is more related to the characters..

Now, if your interested in how the story works in this, read ahead.. Otherwise just scroll to my last words

- I really wanted to link all the characters in some way based on what has happened in the previous GTA games..

- So as you can see Tommy Vercetti (Close left) is acting like he is THE BOSS! Haha that's because he is, he owns The Malibu, remember back when playing Vice City?

- As for Niko (behind Tommy) he's working for Tommy and is asking him if he wants Vic dead for a price (remember, if it pays, Niko does it..) No one should fool around with Tommy's girls

- CJ (third) is fighting with Claud Speed from GTA III, if you remember back in San Andreas at the end, CJ gets a call from Catalina who had a little thing for CJ. She dumps him over the phone and says she with Claud now..

- BUT Claud trying to tell him how she's a back-stabbing bitch for blasting the crap out of him with a shotgun in GTA III

- Now Toni (back) is about to beat the crap out of Claud for killing Salvatore Leon back in GTA III..

- Vic is basically just trying to have a good time and stay out of trouble (just like in Vice City Stories) but trouble always finds him

- Now the two new guys Huang Lee and Johnny Klebitz, I couldn't actually have them doing much because I don't know anything about the games yet.. But basically they are trying to get pissed

Anyways I hope you all enjoy it..

This would have to be one of my favorites, this really shows my true style of art.

This is true inspiration from the Grand Theft Auto series, and it shows off GTA IV.

This took an incredible amount of time to create the background, and every bit of the alleyway was created from scratch... by using a lot of layers in Photoshop... and i mean alot.

It took about two or more weeks.

I believe there may be a slight modification to the logos on her jersey for the published version, but I can't be sure. Me, the colorist and our editor spend a couple days throwing around and changing things on this cover so there's a LOT of e-mails to pick through to find the final version. haha

New Character: Kyou

Kyou is a wolf who is kinda laid-back and doesn't like to be told what to do. She likes to listen to music, and likes to be helped by others when she works.

She doesn't know Tukari much at all, So she has her own story. (For now)

though She still lives in Kiatsu, The City of where Tukari lives in.

22 May 2009 uploaded version 2

In version two I wanted to go for a much cleaner look. The old version was too messy and dark, so I wanted something simple and stylish in version two. I hope I achieved that.
Here's the a bigger version of the pen I drew: [link] It's a little too fat but if it was thinner it would be too small on the stamp.

I hope that you all find version 2 much more pleasing to the eye than the original!

Look in the mirror...

...and you will see your other self. Evil lies naked within all of us, we just have to pay attention to it. Many a times we are quick to point out the flaws of others, but remain ignorant of our own actions. More often than not we choose to neglect reflecting upon ourselves.

So is evil really that far off?

If we do not keep it in check it will eventually taint and consume us whole. Thus it is a constant battle of good vs evil.

I'm bad at expressing things figuratively, so i went for the straight ball.

- Angelic and demonic side, well you get the drift. Straight forward enough.
- Almost naked demonic side, represents that evil lies naked within ourselves.
- Closed eyes for the angel side to represent ignorance.
- Tendril like things swirling around the connected palms represents the taint creeping in.

cliche....but i hope i get my message across clear enough ^^ ;;
