Hey!

It's been quite a while since I submitted anything and it's about time to change this...

It's kind of a Diablo fan-piece of a demonhuntress.
Diablo is also a reason I haven't been uploading anything recently

As ever I was very impressed by Blizzard's Art on the show and got inspired by it instantly.
But I wanted to go a bit further with the realism,
compared to most artworks which are kept quite loosely,
while still maintaining a stylized look.

As always, I used various refrences - especially for the face.
Original is about 10k x 20k although I didn't really use all that res...

Well that's about it, hope you like it!

My own take on the best Villain IMO: Regina. Can't wait for the second season! To those who are not familiar, Regina is the evil counterpart of Snow White in the TV Series: Once Upon a Time. It's amazing how they shed a different light on her character, and I just love the idea she's not "pure evil".

Also, this by far is the most detailed piece I've ever painted (whew!) at the moment. Felt like for the first time in two years I've painted digitally, that I finally, finally "get it". I love painting details but I get easily bored with my process. So I figured, other than practicing painting, I should also practice patience. Learned A LOT from this and (I cannot believe) I had so much fun doing this.

I just absolutely love how it turned out. Vest did an outstanding job on this one to really bring her to life. (Her lips, eyelids, and the apple turned out Crazy-Cool!)

We did up 2 different version of her corset; one with the red transparent fabric, and one without(Version B). Really like that he was able to incorporate a fabric design/pattern for the corset. It gives it just little something extra.
(Aaaaaaand the fact that her boobs are ridiculously big and shiny doesn't hurt either.)

I hope you all enjoy this and probably not safe for work version of Snow White as well.

Kampilan ni Makabo

At last! I've finally made my first fantasy painting for this year! This is my own interpretation of Makabo, that badass tikbalang warrior who happens to be my favorite character from the graphic novel Skyworld, created by and Mervin Ignacio.

Right now they have this Pin up shout out thing going on ([link]). This is the colored version of my entry.

Tikbalang - a supernatural creature from Philippine folklore commonly depicted as having the head of a horse and the body of a man.

Kampilan - a popular single-edged sword widely-used in the precolonial Philippine Archipelago.

If you look closely at the kampilan Makabo wields in this image, you'd notice that it's decorated with okir-based patterns and three alibata characters namely, "ma", "ka", and "bo".

edit:

After a few days, I found out that Makabo was holding his Kampilan the wrong way so I edited this painting by reversing the blade and the pommel of the sword. Many thanks to ~kalis6295 [link] for informing me about this.

Yeah, this one took a while. The background alone about 2 days because I couldn't get it right, and then the rest another day and half, and that's not counting the 2 nights I spent flatting the dang thing...

And after all that it's not a patch on the original coloured versions. I found one version by Sonja Oback, and another portion of a different version which is by who knows!...

But anyway, here's my shot at it!

The image was inspired by three years old photograph of me and my dog when he was a puppy. I've decided to catch that idea, add a little twist and transform it into fantasy realms. My main goal was not to create aggressive and dynamic scene, but to depict serenity, dignity and wisdom of characters. Simply speaking I wanted to create a painting with mood of posed family portait.

Created entirely in Photoshop, using a Wacom Intuos 4 large tablet. Mostly painted (default photoshop round brush) with a few building textures thrown in (my own photographs, taken in Bristol, UK and then shrunk down and twisted this way and that) plus a sky from one of my own photographs, which has been manipulated loads. Took about 1 month to do, mainly weekday evenings here and there.
Siberia is the name of the organization that controls the city. This was done for a short film. Animation would be added later i.e. vehicles, lights etc.

To create a similar image (including revisions) would take between 1 and 2 full weeks work. The cost would be £500 to £1000 ($800 to $1600).

The Egyptian city of Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great, in the 3rd century BC and built by its ancient imperial guard.
This city was built on a magnificent scale with monumental architecture and a huge lighthouse, "The Pharos", considered one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world.
The inhabitants of this great city were mostly Greeks from all sources.
But the greatest marvel of Alexandria was his library and museum associated with it. (literally, an institution dedicated to the 9 Muses) Goddesses of the arts and sciences.
The Muses were nymphs sired by Zeus and Mnemosyne. These muses were heavenly singers, with its choruses and hymns that delight Zeus and the Olympus gods.
Sometimes they descend to earth, acting as mediators between the divine and human condition with its inspiring all kinds of art.
This is a portrait of one of the beautiful photographs of this amazing artist.
She is like a muse for us who came down from heaven to delight us and inspire us with her great beauty and talent , and which I thank for allowing me to draw it.

I sincerely hope she likes this little offering.

Long since I updated with something really new...
Not too sure about this one, but Loh was fun to paint, at least. She's my OC, a fairy-sort-off that guards the spirits in graveyards, and also the entrance to the spirit world, that I'll paint someday.

Some parts still bug me, but that's not new either

Ehm, just to give heads up, the firefly thingies are souls, and the feathers are actually her outfit, a top of sorts, not her wings.^^'
