I've been wanting to work on another Samus fanart piece for a while, and finally found the time to whip something up!

When I played Metroid and Super Metroid, I always viewed Samus as a hardass. Someone with a no-BS, somewhat military-esque attitude. After the more recent titles in the series, I'm not sure Nintendo had that in mind for the character, but that's how I always viewed her growing up, and how I kinda wanted to portray her in this image.

Now I need to run through Super Metroid again.

Just a poster made from all my previous sketches. I was originally going to fully shade it but I decided to go for a simple flat-colors look to match the layout better. I might do a fully shaded version in due time, however. But yes, this is my ''actual'' tribute to BioShock Infinite. Hope you like.

Note: (Elizabeth's hair is light to contrast with Songbird's colors behind her. It simply looked loads better than giving her darker hair)

Yet another Bioshock Infinite Poster! Let me know in the comments if you'd be interested in prints. Again, I unfortunately cannot distribute these without permission from Irrational Games, but it'd still be good to know if anyone would actually be willing to buy one as a framed poster since I contacted them about posters before.

This time around with the heavy hitters and what not. This mainly happened due to so many people upset that Daisy Fitzroy was not in the first poster, so here goes.

A bit about the piece:

THIS TOOK SO LONG HOLY FFFFFFFFFFF. My right hand hates me. Worked on it for a week a few hours a day. Usually I give up on such challenging projects like this one but I'm glad I didn't. THANK THE LAWD FOR HAND REFERENCES. Hopefully you guys will like it and it will all pay off haha.

I had barely any reference for a lot of these characters so I went ahead and did my own thing, hence why some things are probably extremely inaccurate! Sorry about that. :c

Now to finally work on commissions!

I'll be posting this on tumblr and maybe tweet it to Irrational Games, if you guys dig it feel free to share it around as well, as long as I'm credited with a link to my page it's all good.

Harley Quinn and Killer Croc-
This was the last one I did because I was still unsure what I wanted to do with Harley Quinn's outfit. Sure I could have made it easier on myself just to put her in her standard costume, but I'd miss the opportunity to put her in a dress. I'm not that great at fashion, but this was one of the ideas I had for her outfit that I finally settled on. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I thought about giving her the umbrella for a split second, but then it's Harley! So I gave her a croquet mallet.
Croc was the obvious choice to replace the crocodile.

Joker and Scarface-
The original portrait had his pants down, so who better to pull that off than the Joker! He's doing the drinking water while still having the puppet talk trick, just fyi. I didn't intend to have at least two Batman characters in each portrait, but it kind of happened that way. I've always liked the Scarface character so I jumped at the chance to draw him in this piece.

Poison Ivy and Ra's Al Ghul-
For a while now, I've been trying to make my own design for Poison Ivy. Finally was able to draw it in this piece. Wasn't sure if I wanted to give her a normal human skin tone or go with a green one so I just made it really pale. Much like in the rebooted Batman animated series version of Poison Ivy. The weeping willow skirt I gave her would be pretty long and drag on the floor a bit like a peacock tail.
For the tombstone, I originally was going to make it be Two Face just because they have a history of quarreling with each other. Then I didn't like the idea of killing Mr. Dent so I decided to just have fun with it and make it Ra's Al Ghul. He's always dying and coming back so no big deal there

Batman family and Clayface-
I definitely wanted to have Batman in one of the portraits, but wasn't sure until I started sketching ideas with this one. Ended up drawing most of the bat family I wanted to have a Robin in the middle just so the colors could stand out more, but decided to keep it to the original trio.
Clayface in place of the quick sand. Very appropriate I thought.

My pride and joy, the Lutece twins! After finishing up my work for Elizabeth, Irrational hit me up to take a pass at these lovable rapscallions, the scientific minds behind the technology of Columbia. They play a surprisingly huge role in the game, so I've been really flattered to see how many fans they've accumulated over the past couple of months. Granted, let's be honest, most of that is probably because of the amazing writing in the game, but I'LL TAKE WHAT I CAN GET.

I hope everyone realizes that these two are meant to look like they just walked straight out of Leyendecker illustrations,

Disney Girls Pinup

Finally! After a brief hiatus without posting anything new, here I am with another finished artwork. A commissioned Disney Girls Pinup painting!

Simple idea really, a classic portrait painting but very colorful and stylish reminiscence from Disney's movies with a pinup appeal where all the girls are in lingerie or something similar but within a classical portrait depiction.

I've been developing it for months, from each individual girl to the layout sketches and painting. A few hours per week and here is the result. It was quite laborious to paint, I tried to go deep into the details as well as work well volumes to give it a realistic but charming render in the best way possible. I tried to keep the style of each of the girls designs but adding an extra personal touch.

The composition proved to be a challenge as all of the girls are important figures. Anyway, I decided to arrange them in a pyramid where Tinkerbell is at the top although technically she's not a princess but she's the symbol of Disney itself. She's followed by the two classical princesses. Undoubtedly Cinderella and Snow White proved to be quite difficult as both have an older design, so I had to work quite a while to give them a more updated sex appeal. Ariel looked like it would be complicated to set a nice pose, but in the end she was easiest of them all.

A very nice painting, quite possibly the most complex personal artwork I've ever worked on, but I'm quite pleased with the result!

Drawing unintentional inspiration from a bit of Eastern philosophy here (was reading up on some of my old architectural theory notes... yeah go figure XD ) The Yin Yang struck me as really appropriate for these two with its symbolism of interconnection and interdependence of opposing forces - Kind of like Vega and Chun's mutual attraction and repulsion towards each other.
Note: I loosely applied this symbol more for graphic purposes, rather than going too deep into it because it is more profound than what I have actually implied here.

I used the "calligraphy brush" again considering the context, but the hardest part was somehow coming up with mid fight poses for them that would suit a Yin Yang design, and at the same time try to show them to be both beautiful and deadly as they are reputed to be.

Disclaimer: I am not suggesting any pairing possibilities with this pic. Merely just Vega vs Chun. You are welcome to interpret it otherwise, but please don't bite my head off for it (seeing as some people can get very passionate bout pairings...)

Minor changes made - taking some good advice from my buddy Namely, adding some ink splotches to give it more movement and depth, and I changed the angle of Chun's foot because it wasn't looking right with the flow before. Thanks, dude!

It was pretty fun drawing the Gotham Sirens. It actually was just supposed to be Harley Quinn just by herself making this pose, but I thought it looked a bit too empty. So I added Poison Ivy giving Harley some bunny ears. I've always held back from drawing Ivy because I'm still trying to find my own unique design for her. Still working on it, so this will do for now
After drawing Ivy, there was just an empty space to the right of of the drawing and it just made sense just to put Catwoman in there to complete the group.

]Okay, so let me preface this by saying im not a TMNT fan. Well I guess I mean im not a fanboy. I never grew up on this property as a child, so I have no particular love for it.

Honestly, I find the premise a little over the top; teenage mutants I can do (clearly), but the turtle aspect is just completely odd to me.

Anyway, because Im currently working on the new animated tv show on nickelodeon, ive grown to have a very particular view of these characters. How id like to treat them. Clearly something like this nickelodeon would never go for, so I would never have a venue to realize my rendition with my work on the show, but I decided to just figure them out on my own and draw them anway.
I guess the first thing I wanted to accomplish, is because I find the turtles being ninja aspect so over the top I wanted to make my versions super serious to help counteract it. My version would have little to none of the staples that most fans love about the property. Again, I really dont see the appeal all the other turtles fans do, so im just going completely left field on this.

I also wanted to make them more of a cross section look at Asian fighting in general, rather than just ninjas. Clearly I tried to get Leo to be more of a Samurai character; very serious, very methodical, not very fast, but incredibly precise. I also toyed with the idea that he only speaks in japanese, which I might stick with.

DONNIE

Probably the largest jump I make from the original design of the character.
My train of thought on this design sort of went all over the place. My original idea was to go a more sumo route. To showcase another form of asian fighting. I thought the idea of a large sumo wrestler type fighter who has to use a bow staff to extend his reach would be kinda cool. From there I added a bit more of the techy aspect of the character that is currently being used in the new TMNT show. I took it to the point where he is a walking workstation. I really wanted to make the character to seem like a guy who really spends almost all of his time tinkering and creating new tech. This brought me to giving him sort of a heavy leather work outfit. The kind people use at metal workshops and places involving a lot of sparks. Another idea I thought to add in there was the bomb aspect of ninjas. Dropping smoke bombs and the like. I just took Donnie to the extreme where he is strapped with a multitude of bombs. For any occassion.
By the end he became of a tank character. I think the sumo type fighting would be cool to keep, if he ever needed to get up close, but mainly he is a character that because he cant move that fast, uses his tech and bombs to the fullest extent.

MIKEY

From the get-go, I wanted him to be the legit ninja of the group. He is the stealth, he is the shadows, he is the quiet. He is easily the smallest of the group. Everything about him is built to me nimble. Dark colours were an obvious choice for him.
Because with this line of designs I was attempting to make the characters serious, I didnt feel a wise cracking, joking goofball would fit with the rest of the group. It was with a stroke of inspiration that I came up with the mask. I didnt want to just go with a standard ninja face wrap (which felt a little boring to me) and it wasnt until i thought of using a mask that he really clicked for me. It would allow him to look super intense and maybe something along the lines where the mask helped create a sort of myth about him amongst criminals. But the thing I really liked that I came up with was putting a smile on the mask. It really hit home as an homage to the fun loving mikey and immediately giving him a defining feature that the others wouldnt have.

RAPH

Ive had this one locked for a while. Idea-wise. He pretty much is the exact opposite of mikey. Raph is pure blunt force. He isnt fast, he isnt smart, no finesse. Instead, he just walks up to something and hits it until it drops. He doesnt get out of the way either. He takes the hits. and hits them back. I also wanted him to barely use any weapons. its all his fists
