Early release of one of the portraits that will be on display at my upcoming cinema-inspired solo show! I've been working extremely hard on this project for the past several months, and it's great to be able to finally show some pieces.

Léon is one of my absolute favorite movies and it is Natalie Portman's breakout role (and most interesting performance, IMO), so if you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it! Digital painting [link] from references [link], Adobe Photoshop + Cintiq 21UX tablet, approx 16-18 hours. Please note the actual title of the piece is the movie quote up there, sadly dA titles don't have enough characters (nor do they allow special characters like "é".... grrr!)

The opening reception for the show ("MOMENTS" by Alice X. Zhang) is on Friday, June 7th at Bottleneck Gallery. If you are anywhere in the NYC area at that time, I would be delighted to see you! Admission is completely free, more information and RSVP at the event listing.

This portrait of an actor Matt Bomer was requested by dear =pbird12 as her prize in my contest [she won it ] and a part of our art trade as well - she preferred getting one A4 drawing instead of two A5. In return I will receive a A5 portrait of Aidan Turner
Paula got this work a few days ago and when said she likes it, it made my day!

I must admit I was afraid of drawing his hair and T-shirt here I'm not good at light shading, and even tho Paula comforts me his T-shirt is well done, I disagree But I like how the hair turned out, as well as the jacket. It was a pleasure to portray Matt from this picture.

P.S. I'm sorry that I haven't replied on many comments yet In two months' time I'll be graduating from university and I must focus on writing my MA thesis... and it's not even half done! *dies from panic*}

Sometimes, inspiration just leaps out and smacks you in the chops. Whilst still reeling from Frank's 'Freckles', I saw a deviation of the photo version of this image denuded, by a process of filters, of it's lentiginous qualities. I decided to go the other way and attempt to capture the original in all her beautiful bespeckled glory.

Countless hours later and with prodigious use of Illustrator CS5's gradient mesh tool and the trusty Wacom tablet and pen, you see the finished result. Everything is built from meshes with hair and textural accents added using the brush tool.

Ułani AK - pamiętam, że prosiła mnie abym narysował jakiś ułanów jak będę trenował. Myśląc o Poruczniku Badochu ps. "Żelazny", no ogółem myśląc o V Wileńskiej Brygadzie, narysowałem dwóch Ułanów. To są akurat ułani jeszcze z pod niemieckiej okupacji.

Co do samego rysunku to konie mi trochę nie wyszli, głównie głowy, trochę za małe, ale jest spoko.

I would love to thank Tim for doing this last shoot with me before I moved to Texas <333 I miss you so much!!! T_T

This was an idea I really wanted to make happen and so I'm ecstatic that it did T_T The only sad part was that it was a 2 days before I moved so EVERYTHING was packed XD I was lucky to find the Rarity stuff I did XD hahaha. But I still loved how it turned out even with a bunch of stuff missing! So yes, a version of Rarity you might see in Spike's dream. I love Rarity to death and I love Spike as well. I'll post more pics soon, but this one was by far my favorite <33 Thanks again to for shooting with me. I miss you dearly my friend <3
