An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself.
A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find - the brush tool, the eraser tool - to get back at his tormentor. It's resourcefulness versus power. Who will win? You can find out yourself.

the time I can afford for digitalart is evenmore declining these days as I have to do my "alternative civilian service" or "community service" which every young male here in germany has to do. Well at least that's what they tell you .. in fact I think you are an unlucky fellow if they force you to do so because a lot of young adults just don't have to this "service".

my submission for the streetphotography shootout. yes, i mean it.

why? because one of the things of photography, and therefore any artistic discipline,
is to break rules. this photo breaks a lot of rules of classic or pure street photography.
and i did it on purpose. this image is part of my personal, new take on this. read the
techspecs below. but it leaves some things untouched: kickass composition, lots of details,
things to see and discover, people, life, personality. and the photographer.
be a shadow.

and it is a onetake. the frames before and after have nothing to do with this. hit it or blow it.

tech stuff:
Nikon FM2 (full manual mechanics, film, no chimping)
Nikkor AFD 20mm/f2.8 (wide. wider. the way i see the world.)
relabeled Fuji Superia 200 (the cheapest of the cheap)
f16 (my eyes and brain dont have selective focus. i see everything sharp.)
'60 (just what the sun and film allow with that f-stop)
preset focus to hyperfocal distance.
selftimer (fuck that decisive moment)
camerastrap (shoot from the hip? haha. still allows for framing.)

postproduction:
epson 4990 scanner with cutout mask to include negative border
B&W conversion with Bibble 4.9 and Andy 0.9 plugin
Andy-Settings: Fuji Neopan 400 on Fomaspeed Normal Contrast
resized for web, a little USM, copyright added (photoshop)

The Marines still have fairly plain textures, will try out some other armour colours with the next animation they are in (with lots of gun action!).

Hello friends!

The extension of the extension is done! 136 new artists joined this collage with their wonderful icons. Since we have now almost 400 artists it's quite a lot to mention them all in the description. For that reason I reassembled all used icons as links in html-format to make it easier to find their sources.

Consider the html-piece is fully animated and the links lead to all pages of the owners/creators of the avatars! This is it: Deviantart People html

Don't miss this big sister because it is an exact duplicate of the original work with all icons at their correct positions. Only they are all animated unless the originals are still pictures. I think it looks great and I am happy I could make it like this. It was my dream from the first moment the idea was born.

Full arm Extreme 101

So this is work in progress render of female robotic character I am working on. This is a full left arm with inside set up made to work in a real life. To a degree of cause. Some of your may notice that this arm is a step away from the original design. For that I thank you for your comments on the previous wip. Some said that the previous arm started to look like something from Inspector Gadget movie and thats not the look I am going for. Therefore I listen to the critiques and made the changes. So dont hesitate if you have an opinion about current design. Thanks again for your current and future input.

Edit: Thanks for the comments on the aliasing everyone, its now fixed!! Also, new border, curve adjustments, water re-meshed slightly & added noise. I had just got that numb feeling with it, you know when you spend 8 hours staring at the same picture it becomes dead to you!!

Ok well ive been working on a scene now for about the last week, i wanted to use it because the piece its intended for is taking a while so I thought i would throw in this bottle i modelled a while ago.

The Details

Program: Cinema 4D R9 + Advanced render
Models: Me - NO Resources
Textures: All painstakingly made in photoshop, the wallpaper and floorboards were heavily (very) edited stock images You'll see them better in the full piece when its finished.
Lighting: Paul Debevec's Kitchen Probe (Not Visible) at 40% luminosity for diffuse (BG is modelled) + One Parallel Volumetric spot with soft shadows, caustics.

Edit:
Re-rendered with higher settings.
Fixed moderate texture error on stripped wallpaper.
Rendered different views at lower resolutions to make more of a presentation out of this image and prove the background was not an HDRI sphere
*just realised i forgot to add noise to the renders so sorry for the double re-submission watchers

The second shot from my snail shooting..
I chased it over half an hour how it moved from one end of a leaf to another, crossing some other leaves..
From time to time it stopped to sip out some waterdrops - just like here.. it was amazing to see.

Well it was always my dream to create pictures like this one. No matter how and with what technique. I tried it with my well known terragen/photoshop technique and i created 'a new hope' [link] . Then i took a trip into digital painting. Inspired by the works of a gary tonge aka *ANTIFAN-REAL or ~dylancole it's what you see here in this artwork what i always wanted to do from the beginning of my very first looks into photoshop a few yrs ago. 'A trip to the city' [link] (a collab with =Bennybeee ) was the first try to paint some signs of a cityscape. Successful i think. Then i tried a full size painting... 5000px wide... 'dawn of hope' [link] , an homage to 'a new hope' and maybe another step into a new direction for me. Now alagaesia prime was created through painting techniques too... and the productivity was awesome. In comparison to my terragen/photoshop technique i really got some speed into my creative process. That's really what i liked the most while creating this piece... i had the chance to work fast and efficient.

Not too much to say here. Wacom Intuos 3 - 5000x4000x300dpi... - digital painting completely done in photoshop... using... brushes.

This (I'm pretty sure) is my first shot. It may not be flawless, so I would really appreciate comments!

I just walked into the washroom one day, and decided to take this. The sink was really gross and dirty, but I thought that it would be kind of cool to do a weird, dirty shot. At first I actually just wanted to take photos of drops of water hitting the sink, but then the lighting was really bad for that, and so those shots turned out to be just of the sink. I then adjusted the tap so that not too much water came out.

My seccond attempt at a terraspace piece...
I think I pulled it off, but dont judge too harshly...

Terragen took 40 mins and post processing ins PS took a single 15 hour session (with one hour sleep)...

Please comment & fav if you think its deserving...

---UPDATE---

Seeing a few people have asked I tought id run through how I made it.. I dont know how helpul it will be, just an account of the steps involved. *sorry is I miss anything*
(1) Played around in terragen for a few hours, using some DEM data of some canyon.
(2) Made the planet, which is a spherized rock texture with heavily modified difference clouds from PS above it... + some water..
(3) Went into Bryce and rendered a rock (the asteroid) & a fusion fire textured sphere (for the flames on the asteroid) ...
(4) With some cloudy brushes I made, painted the nebula and clouds above the terrain...
(5) Whacked it all together, adding stars (just high contrast PS noise) & lens flares, small gas clouds etc
(6) Added special effects, like the shock wave etc. (Shock wave is a sphere from bryce, volumetric texture, with changed perspective).

Hope that gives a rough idea.
