My entry for this weeks Trinquette Challenge, organised by the great Alberto Ruiz.
Missed the deadline, but thought I'd better post it here as a reminder that space can be a lot more dangerous than you realise.
And requires a far less bulky dress code than previously thought.

No astronauts were harmed during the making of this picture.

My most recent assignment for my Schoolism course with the lovely and inimitably talented Sam Nielson (). I'm actually happy enough with this to post it, so that's something! God I love painting clouds.

Sam does the initial loose linework for each assignment, so credit where credit is due for general mountain/cloud placement.

In Tokyo near the futuristic skyscrapers, there is a labyrinth of old-fashioned back alleys. You can have a short break, in a timeless atmosphere, eating noodles or a yakitori set.
Before going back to the tumult of modern life.

This print was made using a baren – a traditional Japanese tool – and 7 hand-carved linoleum plates. It was a long and exhausting work.

Post-Moscow Blues

Moscow was...Beyond words amazing. So in my post-moscow excistence I feel a bit gloomy and doomy. However, I am very happy and extremely grateful for having experienced something like this. I met a lot of epic people, and had many exciting moscow-adventuresz. I got to attend the 1.may demonstrations, and saw fascists and old-communists and anarchists and national bolsjevists and much more. Getting to speak about myself and my art to a room full of russian comic enthusiasts was also much fun, although a bit scary @-@ I was also very impressed by all the artwork I saw. Not only the official artwork featured at the festival, but stuff I saw while peeking into peoples sketchbooks as well. I felt like these anonymous creatures should've been the ones being official guests at the festival, and not me x u x Anyways, lotsa good memories I have, and I want to say thank you to all the peeps who made my trip into the awesome trippy trip is was! <3 <3

Lagoon Boy! Puffer mode! Definitely my favorite aspect of this guy (besides his proclivity for swooping in on vulnerable Martian Girls after a messy break up) is his ability to go into puffer mode. In a rare instance where design alters the approach to the way a character is written, it was decided that since I drew him with his lips pulled so far back from his teeth in this mode, he wouldn't be able to actually talk when he puffs up and would be reduced to grunts and roars. It's kinda fun because it turns him into this under water Hulk type of dude.
My biggest visual inspiration for this design was, believe it or not, the Kool-Aid Guy. Yeah, the red pitcher of Kool-Aid with arms, legs and a face who breaks through walls and says, "OH, YEAH!", haha.

Also, and I probably shouldn't say this but whatever, I saw early digital sculpts of a Lagoon Boy Puffer Mode toy that Mattel was working on before the line was cancelled. How dope would that have been?!

Star Wars - Action Figure Compendium Poster

This poster pays tribute to Star Wars and the iconic Kenner card back from the 80's. This one in particular is the "92 card back" which covered the entire basic figure assortment. While Yak Face was never included in the lineup, I threw him in there for good measure.

Bioshock Infinite

What an amazing game, I really had fun with it and was excited to do some fan art on the game. One of my favorite features with Infinite is how you can use the Sky-hook to ride these rails through the skylines, it's very addictive, especially in battle. So I wanted to make it a prominent part of this picture, also with his Devils Kiss power in one hand, in my opinion it's the best and most effective power to use

I wanted to try and achieve the vibrant color scheme Bioshock Infinite is known for, it was good to play around with so many colors for a change, and I had to get used to playing around with distance for once too, haven't done that in a while. I hope you all enjoy this piece, and if you haven't yet, go out and give Bioshock a go, it's a bit of a twisted story and makes you wonder a lot but has a good pay off by the end

So, I will start by introduce the other character and not the mysterious skull-hat girl c:,( I save the best for the next time)

So this is Emelisse, owner of a tiny pub on the edge of a forest. Some walkers knows the location well and appreciate a lot the presence of the smiling young woman.
Some rumors even say stopping by the hidden place and take some stein could cure your troubles.

This is a warm and welcoming place which is never closed. The bartender girl loves to speak with her clients at every hour of the night and exchange some stories, accompanied with some smoking candles.
But, well, nobody know that Emelisse was a very brillant and talented herbalist before a being the owner of the tavern. She was in fact, less extravagant, less friendly than you have to if you want to success in society and because of her withdrawn nature didn't get the chance to find a job or was too afraid to continue after some defeats and deceptions. So she abandon her dream and went to an isolated place, did up and old and abandonned house and make it a warm place.

Apparently she owns a home, somewhere in the forest, but nobody knows where, and she mostly sleep at the pub, on the second floor. Oh well, if she decided to sleep in fact...

She doesn't smoke, like the picture could say, but love to chew things around, like toothpicks or straws. She blow some air in it, and as the weather is kinda cold, it makes some steam, that amuses her a lot.

I drew this poster in 2011 and we used it as a free giveaway to the fans that came to see us at the WB booth at SDCC that year. It was also made into a huge banner that hung over the booth, it looked really cool that size! Today it hangs in the lobby at WB animation.
Once again I was fortunate to get my pals Dusty Abell and Josh Middleton to help me finish this piece in time for print.

I'm not 100% happy with this page. I think this scene just gave me some trouble in general. I like the acting, but the colors and some of the paneling makes me frown. It tells the story though .
