Nikon D80 + 50mm F1.8. The previous tenants of our house left an old piano. It's not tuned and some keys don't work but it looks pretty cool in my opinion The heart is a semi-transparent sticker. So I've been playing around with my NDx1000 filter again and I'm getting better results each time - After a full day searching for a decent landscape I came across this place. I had to jump over a few fences to get to this part of the reservoir and was pleased with the vantage point I found. If your interested the LatLng code is: 53.880371, -1.775120

I've been dipping my toes into the world of long exposures recently, inspired by the many great artists on DA who use this technique in their photography.

Image was captured with a circular polariser and an ND8 filter, giving me the necessary exposure length to blur the water to how I wanted it.

Final toning was applied in PS.

This turned out rather nice i think. Really happy with the result. So happy actually, i decided to enter it in =zardo's SEA contest [link] .
Typical long exposure, nothing earth shattering. About 30 secs with a B+W 110 ND filter. Levels, contrast and white balance adjusted.

At Loch Lomond, Scotland, in the sunset. I used an ND1000 filter to get the exposure time to about 30 seconds so the clouds would blur. The tree lies about five metres offshore and has a lovely background of hills.

~One of the many beaches along Hwy 1 north of San Francisco. This is at Schoolhouse Beach in one of the hidden coves accessible only during low tide. I only had about twenty minutes to try and get some shots off as the tide was rapidly coming in. I had set my tripod on some rocks so it would be stable and not sink when the waves receded. I thought it was pretty cool to be timing the surf to get around back to the main beach. Exciting for someone who doesn't get to experience this kind stuff on a daily basis. Alot of the beaches along Hwy 1 are at the bottom of sheer cliffs, some only accessible when the tides are low, but what makes them unique are the abundance of jutting rocks and stones just like the ones I've photographed. These spots may be picturesque and all, but they do not come without dangers; caution and common sense should always take heed.
