Eri (Scrapped) (2007)

She ended up giving me far too much hell, working with old pencils which I only started colouring months after. This was at a stage where I hadnt settled into my style just yet, so after having spent many weeks, over months colouring her, I realized that there was far too much wrong with the penciling (proportioning, weight balancing and pose) which ended up severely bothering me. I spent ages performing many operations to try and rescue her here, but in the end, couldnt and realized it would be better to start over...

I wanted to create a style with her that would be smooth flowing with me, and wouldnt take ages, so this wasnt it. The dude running AWX was much happier with the newer Eri I ended up finishing anyway.

Thought Id also share some of the extra accessory design work I did.

And this was my 2nd entry to Carte Blanche.

Based on the French Revolution. A Jacobin Assassin. The Jacobins were the dominant political party born during the Revolution (known members: Robespierre, Danton, Marat, Saint-Just, etc).

I had tons of fun with this one and it actually makes me laugh, not only because of the cartoony feel to it, but also because it looks NOTHING like an Assassin's Creed character. No wait, there's some white on the pants! hahaha
I don't know what I was thinking, but I don't care. I had fun with this.
It was a very quick work after the heaviness of the Egyptian Assassin, it was spontaneous and refreshing.
I should draw in this style more often.

Finally! I've always dreamed of doing a shoot expressing how much I love video games. Any fellow gamers here? My love for games started when I was in my mother's womb. Back then, she was already playing Super Mario Brothers on the Family Computer...and I could already hear it. Just kidding! But yeah, I started really early and loved it ever since!

Anyway, the game playing in the BG/TV is Final Fantasy 13. Though we already finished the game, we just loaded the last chapter and put it on pause for this shot 'coz Final Fantasy pause screens are cool. Hahaha! :3

LES AMIS DE L'ABC: THE GEEZER EDITION:
A Les Miserables Abomination!

In the beginning, there was The Picture of Les Amis de l'ABC¹. And verily, it did offend the Fans, because it portrayed a group of vivacious young men as a bunch of doddering old fools, and their chief (described many times as angelically beautiful) as a badly-aged, knuckle-walking simian lacking in the head hair department.

Thus, it came to be that ~ColonelDespard redrew the image as how it should have been, and it was good. And the Fans saw it, and lo, the image pleased their eye.

And thus, ~HistoryKnightLS was inspired to make an allegorical version of The Picture (image pending). And lo, a new meme was started to remake The Picture in the artists' own image. And then HistoryKnightLS did ask DarthFar, "Are you planning to do one also?"

And so a seed of evil was sown. For DarthFar, being of Unwholesomely Wicked Disposition, saw fit not to improve upon the original image, but to intentionally murder the picture by making it even worse than it originally was.

And somewhere in the Pantheon, the remains of Victor Hugo are spinning...

Apologies to all Les Mis fans!

Because I have quite possibly --hopefully-- mangled the picture beyond all recognition, here are some notes. In no particular order:]

Joly - has rheumatism. Real, not imagined.
Feuilly - looks more like a candidate for the Patron-Minette² than the Friends of the Abaisse. [Blame this on the original illustrator.]
Bahorel - has grown facial hair to hide some of his more obvious scars, but is never too old to play dominoes with
Jehan - an aging Bohemian with questionable fashion sense.
Enjolras - bears a striking resemblance to his distant primate ancestors, and looks as if he's only just come down from the trees. [Again, blame original illustration.]
Lesgles/Bossuet - never had hair to begin with, but now also sports many missing teeth, and quite possibly emphysema and a whole host of other things. Because he's just unlucky that way.
Combeferre - is even shorter than Desmoulins³. [Eat this, Victor Hugo.]
Courfeyrac - show the cumulative effect of overindulgence in alcohol and pastries⁴.
Grantaire - has similarly gone to seed.

My Little Guybrush

So I decided to take up customising My Little Ponies, because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Given that this is my first one, I don't think he came out too badly! I do think that I made his mane too thick though, and his tail is a bit too thin, but I'm pretty pleased with how he came out. I had a lot of fun making him, photos of the entire process can be found here.

Now he needs a My Little Elaine to go with him, and a My Little LeChuck to battle!

Base used is a G1 boy pony, details sculpted with Milliput and painted with Citadel acrylics. The hair is nylon from My Little Customs, whom I thoroughly recommend.

My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro, Guybrush Threepwood belongs to LucasArts/Telltale Games.
