I changed the ropes color a little and added some blue to it so it wouldn't look so odd. I got rid of some bubbles - moved some bubbles around (very subtle ones) and fixed the title.

I am ridiculously proud of this.

A gift for , because I have been a longtime nerd-fan of hers since before I joined deviantART. This is her character, Shinn, about to throw down with my unnamed death's head horsie. I love my creepy horse, but my money's on Shinn.

I've always loved the pictures that look like cels from animated movies, and I really wanted to try one for myself. I am SO HAPPY with the way this came out!! It took a helluva lot of work (last time I do digital inking!!), but it was absolutely worth it.

A really great celebration to changes and letting go and moving forward Throwing off the sandbag with perspective for dramatic effect. No brushes or textures were used, I got so good!!

I love hot air balloons, although I've never been in one. And clouds, as is apparent through any one of my other pictures. I decided to go all out this time with the cloud scape and create something really dynamic and full of detail.
This piece started out because I said to myself "I have no yellow or purple in my gallery" and then bam!

How's life? ]]> Again I don't know how much time I spent on this... just more practice with my vector skills. I have learned many new things about Adobe Illustrator while working on it - it was so fun. Though some people want to see me draw anime... I still want to finish few more vectors before I begin >< sorry.

This is a digital illustration, made for a magazine called 'Knuffel' (wich means huggle in english) wich is sold in many schools throughout Belgium. I scanned it directly from the magazine, so the colors tend to look darker and desaturated in some parts, and the blues were brighter too. But it looks so cool! When I saw the source photo, I knew it had tremendous potential. However, the source photo was taken about 25-30 years ago, and the Rowing Club today is not a reddish brown anymore. Today, the building is very dark brown with white trim. I thought about being anachronistic but then figured it's just too recognizable a building so I better update it. Thing is, the reddish brown makes for a better, more colorful composition. So I guess I kind of kept it, though I did update the railings.

Landscape error that is going to drive me crazy is the red and white boat on the LH side: it is pointing the wrong way, out of the painting, though it is like that in the photo. I'll fix that later (Update: fixed, somewhat)

The only message about this painting, if there is one, is this is a place where people have celebrations: they get married, they have anniversary parties, they celebrate life. The clouds look like balloons, the trees look like birthday candles, and the boats and water have all sorts of confetti color in them. It's just happy, that's all. ]]> Status: Sold

I spent 142 hours on it, I lost the file 3 times and I have finally found the motivation to finish it today because it was just making me nervous and feeling guilty because I had planned to finish it ages ago. Now it's done!!! Wheee!! (I'm very very sorry for the delay Aaron )

I hope you'll like it (and I know it's not realistic, the anatomy, lighting, water, skin, plants, etc... are full of "artistic freedom")
