Frost Dragon - Viinturuth (Skyrim) Papercraft

I've finally finished with my 2nd build of my Skyrim - Frost dragon paper model.

(Yes technically its a wyvern ... take it up with Bethesda )

This one sports new textures and a new more stable base, a ruined Word Wall. Height is about 45 cm with the new base.
It is also filled with expanding foam to keep it more sturdy since, as it turned out, the last one couldn't support its own weight.

Level 10 was not easy to reach on Steamtris. It was so hard even for people that played the game for years. Legends were made about some players going that far, there was even a story about a kid that reached Level 10 after playing the game for only few months. Nobody believed in those myths for long time until one day there was a big announcement in local newspapers that rumors were actually true and that the little boy will actually demonstrate his skills on the square in our town. I still remember that moment, that Saturday, hundreds of people at our local square and him playing that game like nobody before. It was so magical, untrue, it was the moment when I started believing that in order to do big things in life you just need one substance, love for what you do.

This is the first drawing that I would never do without DA. The above three, Monnalisa, Gregory House and homeless warrior, are all children of DA and somehow they owe to DA their existence, but this one in particular is all branded DA.

Secondly, it is a drawing that took me a lot of commitment. I would not have thought of doing, for the amount of time, before seeing many artists struggling with the same time’s problems.
It 's the fourth of the 'new series' and is a portrait. I really liked the look of the original photograph and the way the light play on the beautiful face full of freckles.
I did my best and I tried to capture her original beauty, I hope I have done a enjoyable job.

Here is my new work, the second after I started my adventure on DA.
Up to now, this is the drawing that took me more effort. It is not the most difficult or the most intense, but perhaps that's what I feel more complete. It 'a drawing that I needed to do to give something to the television's star that gave me so much in recent years, House is a character 'credible', although uncommon and the series, from my point of view, has the best television scripts.

Since these spider Lilies usually bloom near cemeteries around the autumnal equinox, they are described in Chinese and Japanese translations of the Lotus Sutra as ominous flowers that grow in 地獄(also known as Hell), and guide the dead into the next reincarnation.
A famous legend is of two elves: 曼珠, who guarded the flower, and 沙華 who guarded the leaves. Out of curiosity, they defied their fate of guarding the herb alone, and managed to meet each other. At first sight, they fell in love ♥ with each other. G.O.D, exasperated by their waywardness, separated the miserable couple, and laid a curse on them as a punishment: the flowers of 曼珠 shall never meet the leaves of 沙華 again.
It was said that when the couple met after death in hell , they vowed to meet each other after reincarnation. However, neither of them could keep their words. ♥

Some other legends have it that when a person sees someone that they may never meet again, these flowers, also called red spider lilies, would bloom along the path. Perhaps because of these sorrowful legends .

I am often asked about how I have gotten so close to shoot at just XXmm.

Truth is, its about knowing your subject. You can't just ram a camera up random peoples faces and expect great results. You have to coax them, talk to them work with them, and then BAM great shot.

It's no different in the wild. You talk to the animal, maybe not verbally (sometimes though yes even verbally) let them know your there to capture their innate beauty not to disturb or steal from them. So you move easy let them know they are boss and you can do amazing things. Patience is key. And honestly it helps to shoot eagles in Homer Alaska, they have been around people more than most and are somewhat desensitized to us. That being said, I doubt there were many people nearby that could have approached the eagle as I did without it simply flying off. Walking forcefully up with a camera jambed to your nose, just isn't going to do it.

Haldir, white African lion (Panthera leo krugeri, lev africky - bila forma) from ZOO Bratislava, Slovakia there are only few white lions, so this one is real rarity! They are not albinos, only freaks of nature, as white tigers. White color is caused by a recessive gene known as chinchilla or color inhibitor...

So it's Jessica Alba... I've had the reference picture since forever and I finally decided to draw it on my new paper^^

Drawn on Canson Bristol paper (250g/m² / 110 Ibs), A3 (11 3/4" x 16 1/2")

It's the first time I've used that paper since I've just ordered it from the UK (A3 bristol is not available in stupid switzerland. seriousely, what's up with that?)

I didn't really count but I'm estimating that this drawing took about 30 hours to draw.
The hardest part was the hair and it also took the longest to finish.
Most annoying about this drawing was certainly digitalizing it. I will need an A3 scanner sooner or later...^^

This is the Second element in this drawing, the sky and bulb being the first.

This is a drawing of my step-fathers eye. An eye that’s seventy-eight years old, an eye akin to hammered gold. An eye that’s experienced prisoner of war camps and the death of many comrades. It’s been witness to beating cancer once and now in the dusk of his years to lung cancer. This symbol speaks of strength and vulnerability; it alludes to the end of one journey and the beginning of another.

(On December 5, 2005 my dear step-dad died in my arms, I will miss him so very much, Gods Speed to you Dad, and all my love always). Armin Mersmann

I tried to do it realistic,, I have not drawn many guys before, so it was hard in some ways.

Oh and I should have said this is Norma Jean moments before becoming Marilyn.

Edit: I found out the reference photo was by Laszlo Willinger and since then I contacted the copyright owner Edward Weston and I now have full rights....If anyone is interested this Marilyn portrait is for sale, email me: 1995imaginee@midtel.net

Her hair does look goood, but I didn't get to detail with it, my main focus was the expression on her face and those bright young eyes of hers...I do plan to draw another of Marilyn, just not to sure which photo to render.

To all of you that feel you will never be able to draw like this, well think again my friends, 6 years ago I drew a few Marilyn Monroes and they look nothing like this, I mean nothing. I will post one of them in scraps for you to see what practice, patience, the right tools (paper, pencils, etc), learning from other artists and last but not least believing in yourself can do. Hey if I can do it you can too...
