Original name of this piece was Huayra (Goddess of wind or something like that). Inspired by Pagani Huayra commercial. But later I figured out that Huayra Tata was man ))) so now she is Wind Queen. Tried to create something dynamic, dark and with lot of particles.

here's a work I've submitted to the gnomon workshop contest, I imagine it's one of Lara Croft adventures - it would be nice to play this kind of a bit twisted game

EDIT - a lot of texture work and defining details, colour corrections etc. I think it improved. I still want to work a bit on character, though.

Personal art of Mass Effect.
The tenth picture featuring Legion

The piece is set in an outside planet location where Legion is covered with falling ashes/cinders and some dirt. Part of his head and armor is smashed and holds scratches
I let myself introducing some changes of my own in Legion's apperance: Generally I tried to give him a bit more haunting and hostile look. A little reminder that he is not a lamp but one deadly and useful ally.

No photo tracing or 3D models were used here. Some elements of the background were overpainted. I also used couple of screenshots as references and bunch of photo textures. The armor lighting was inspired by the Iron Man render I once saw. The original size is A4 with 300dpi. This is just a .... well you guys know what this is

As someone here in DA recently said, I feel a bit like a coward when uploading something that doesn't fit my usual style and what my watchers are used to see. I sometimes feel Fantasy art is a bit kitsch, especially fairies :/ But they seem to love fantasy art and fairies in Ed.Babylon.. So I tried to mix their likes and mines to some extend. That's why I tried to avoid the typical cliche of a colorful fairy with butterfly wings and tried to portray a cold and evil fairy, yet innocent and attractive, instead.

Everything painted from scratch in Photoshop CS4 with my beloved wacom Graphire 4 Lots of self-portraits as reference. Butterflies reference is from sxc.hu.. Background is a blurry matte painting.

About 50 hours including the time to think about what to do, taking the pics with my cam for the references and looking up for some more on the net!

As someone who's lived in Florida all their life, the seasonal change consists of summer.. and winter. There's hardly any 'fall' and barely any 'spring' here. xD So it took quite a bit of effort to come up with such a red and orange leafy palette, as I'm used to blues, purples, and greens in terms of foliage. c:
I'm also very new to drawing felines, so I hope Switchy here in the speed paint looks alright! xD

Had a lot of fun working on this, and I hope it shows. :>

So, here it is my first realistic painting! Digital impressionism is really my style but well, it was a commission and they preferred realistic style. I enjoyed this challenge. Image belongs to Ediciones Babylon

I tried to show the embodiment of this well known myth when the bird starts igniting into flames and how she resigns herself to her fate.

Everything painted in Photoshop CS4 with my beloved wacom Graphire 4 . I just used a really blurred pic to add some kind of background.

About 40 hours including looking for references, taking lots of pics to myself for the pose and hand. References for the feathers were from sxc.hu and cgtextures. Reference for the face: [link]

This is the product of an ImagineFX monthly challenge. I have grown quite a bit by doing this piece. Honestly, I have no idea how long this took me. I spent a couple of hours just researching things like guns and spent a while mocking up thinks like the ship in the background in separate files. It took me back to my college art 110 class which taught construction/perspective drawing. It really came in handy!

Drawing ships and mech armor is not my forte, so I focused on what I could do first- portraits. I added a human element to an otherwise very cold theme. Overall I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Expect more of this style of art in the future.

I had fun with this one! It took two full days (only stopping to eat, sleep and go to the bathroom) and now i'm seeing stars.

I worked with this model a year ago and got a good image from the set (AmalgaMATE 3) but it was a shame that I hadn't done any close ups of this beautiful face.

The phoenix is a sacred firebird that originated in the ancient Phoenician, Egyptian and Greek Mythologies. It symbolises life, death and resurrection as well as fire, light and the sun. Upon reaching old age a Phoenix was said to build a nest of myrrh twigs before igniting itself. A baby Phoenix would then rise from the ashes, born anew.

I wanted to illustrate the seamless connection between bird and fire that is so iconic and important to the Phoenix fable. To do this I decided to transform the plumage into flames. The challenge was to capture an expression of power and intensity, but not create an aggressive or horrific atmosphere as a result. It is important to note that the Phoenix is in no way hurt by the flames, it is one with the fire that engulfs it.

Small songbirds such as Robins, Larks, Thrushes and Cardinals inspired my design of Phoenix. This is somewhat unusual, because many times artists have depicted a Phoenix as some kind of large Eagle or Peacock. But I wanted mine to appear small and precious, yet dramatic and feisty. I wonder what kind of song a Phoenix would have?

Whoah it's finally done. Feels like it took me ages since it's been lying around for months without me working on it.

As you can see this one's very John Baurer inspired again, am I a fan or what?
One of the useful things I learned from this one is the construction of a pair of moose antlers, those were hard at first!

I really hope you guys like it, and one last thing: never trust a moose.
