This piece was created in three major sections. The base is four layers of two inch thick stock laying down laminated together. The top is made in the same way with two layers. The center is four layers laminated together but standing up instead of laying down. The center was then mortise and tenoned into the base and top. Once I had that form built up I stated the initial shaping with a mini chainsaw and then proceeded to the detail carving with die grinders. It was then sanded and finished with a clear polyurethane. ]]>

Prodigium is my first entry for Luminarium's latest exhibition named Genesis. What does Genesis mean? An origin, creation, or beginning. The act of producing or causing to exist | A genius creation.

My first thought was, to creat again a dual-screen wallpaper. I made a poll and it was very clear that you guys wanted one again. I really enjoyed working on the pic and it took me a lot of time to finish it. The concept and composition changed several times (most helpful advise came from ^gucken. Thanks again! The scene should be very clear. If not, please tell me what you see there.

There are really large sizes available this time. You only are allowed to use it as your personal desktop-background. Prints and commercial use only on request (and paid). If you run a wallpaper-page and want to include this wallpaper, ask me. You're not allowed to add it to your page without permission this time due to the file-resolution.

There'll be no excuse for theft and I'll use every help I can find (little hint: lawyer)! Thanks for your understanding!!!

I'm the Alice in this photo, and my bestest best friend Christy (the Ariel) organized her whole Sexy Disney Princess group again.

Britt set up a makeshift photo studio in our hotel room and we were able to get this amazing shot. It took a few tries but I'm so happy with how it turned out. Thank you to Britt and all these wonderful girls.

EDIT: Ok there are a lot of people commenting that we look 'fake', 'emotionless' or we didn't go 'all out' on the faces. Here's the thing - we are caked in stage makeup that we PAID a makeup artist to do. We couldn't risk ruining it at this point since this photo was taken before we went to the convention. If Aurora had covered my face with her arm, my makeup would have gotten all over her sleeve. Same goes for Belle, etc. ]]>

Birds singing, waking up the woods. Leaf falling, showing the new season approaching.
All of a sudden it's all quiet, not even the wind can be heard. A gentle breeze sweeps across my face, leaving the scent of nature at the tip of my nose for a while.
I place my gear on the floor, pouring myself a cop of coffee. It's chilly outside and I warm my hands on the cup, smoke coming up from the coffe. I look up and hear birds and animals raises the volume once again as the sun cracks through the crowns of the trees, breaking light

Searching I found that this rich visual is called commedia dell'arte, and then I started drawing sketches with the theme.

These studies led to the idea of creating a Jester using a wooden leg, based on the aesthetics of the commedia dell'arte.

The mask is a very present element in commedia dell'arte, but in the character, I decided not to put a mask, but to make his face with exaggerated proportions, similar to one.

The image was made in 3dsmax and completed in Photoshop.
