long time no updating again...well I guess I just have to face how lazy I am....

This is a illustration for a film I wanna to be work on. Though I have done those designs, I need to discuss with the teacher to solve some technical issues before putting it to production....and once I start the production of it, I might disappear again from my blog or whatever XD

anyway, I don't wanna spoil the story, so I will write nothing here about the picture...and I guess the story is already shown in the picture?

Stitch from Lilo+Stitch Disney movie

he is the most adorable creature EVER!!! I got this idea from a pic I saw near the movie's ending, where you see Stitch showing a book to the little ducklings, and I based it off of that. I kept the head relatively the same cuz it's such a cute position!! I made the background black because it makes the duckies stand out more. anyways, It took me 4-5 hours. I found it much easier to draw+colour because of its simplicity.
*I got rid of the fog, it looked stupid
I was inspired to do the dark water effect by this one artist on DA, but I can't seem to find them right now X_X...
and... I saved the smaller photoshop file over my larger one... again. oh cruel world..

City of Colours

Conceptual illustration, the original base painting by my classmate Yu Xuan: [link] .

First time painting so much glass, nearly died. orz
I focused more on getting the colours right. Also tried painting with a default hard brush and gradient tool only. Halfway I switched from Photoshop CS3 to Painter in order to prevent a broken neck. =____=;;;;

This was quite enjoyable to paint despite having a bad flu and pressing project deadlines. This painting was also featured as Image of the Day by ImagineFX on 8th February 2011.

Fan art of the beautiful as Genkuro (a nine-tailed fox/kitsune) from Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura [link] . This painting was really challenging but fun to do.

Some notes:
- If you've read the synopsis for this Japanese play, you'll know that the little drum Genkuro has on his lap is made of his parents' skins.
- The bridge is called a taiko-bashi (Japanese drum bridge). It's usually built over still waters, but I just wanted a waterfall, so there. XD
- The little red lantern Genkuro is carrying is representative of his kitsune-bi (fox-fire).

Hope you don't mind the colours, I wanted it a bit more fantasy-like, dunno if I over-did it.... @___@

Starry witch's hut

Her hut is made of stardust. She sleeps during the day and works at night. She produces stars. Sometimes exactly at midnight you can see her working in the hut's tower. I was lucky enough to see the Starry Witch. The smoke that comes out of the chimney is white and a bit shiny. It somehow sets the stars on the sky. I don't know how she does that and I don't think anybody knows. She is the only witch that knows the recipe for stars. Maybe you will also see her at work one day...

Nay, they chose to ignore the arcane warnings and cross the bridge in search of glittering substance to add to their swords. Substance, that was not for ease of use, but for the joy of the mind. It was the same joy and simple human nature, which led to my birth and the downfall of their ancestors.
The bravest of and strongest of men were selected for this mission.
They went across the bridge… knights in shiny, but utterly useless amour.
Some decided not to use their feet, but to make slaves of lower class, 4-legged beasts.
Their motion, sound and heat did trigger a reaction that could not be stopped, once it had begun.
They had no idea that, after all these years, I would come alive once again...

The sun rose above the city, and glittered through a gap in the thick acidic clouds, basking the world in its usual greenish glow. A jet trail had already pierced its path.
Once, I saw a photograph in a library of the yellow sun and blue sky. How odd.
Something about too much ash and micro filaments in the air, had shifted the colors of the heavens, over the centuries of persistent air pollution.
Plumes of overheated air rose from the Nuclear stations, on the sides of the city's central core, vibrating and shimmering in sunlight.
An ever-present, mushroom cloud of thick, juicy smog reminiscent of the nuclear wars, overshadowed the Core and engulfed it in constant darkness. Workers of the Core had often complained that they never see sunlight, but who really cares about sunlight these days anyway, when we got the brilliant, undying glow of electricity to chase away the nights.
Roads flashed with constant fuzz of green and red lights, always moving, always going. On every road trip I always wonder why there's constantly so much traffic, looking out at passing cars and think about where each person is going and why.

This painting is inspired by the city I was born in- Novokuznetsk, Siberia.

This is how I often saw it as a child- engulfed in smog and dust from the coal mining and aluminum/steel production factories, the air so thick with metal that hail turned brown, and in cold winter smog covering the city in a gray veil from which you could only see 2 meters ahead.

Creating the sunset/sunrise was a (super) hard job but i'm quite proud of the result, hope you'll like it too...

Falling dreams is quite common in the world of
dreams. Contrary to a popular myth, you will not
actually die if you do not wake up before your hit
the ground during a fall.

Falling dreams typically occur during the first stage of
sleep. Dreams in this stage are often accompanied by
muscle spasms of the arms, legs, and the whole body.
These sudden contractions, also known as myclonic jerks.
Sometimes when we have these falling dreams, we feel
our whole body jerk or twitch and we awaken from this
jerk. It is thought that this jerking action is part of
an arousal mechanism that allows the sleeper to awaken
and become quickly alert and responsive to possible
threats in the environment.

According to biblical interpretations, dreams about
falling have a negative overtone and suggest that man
is acting and walking according to his own way of
