Lost Vikings
Erik Snabb did his time in the corps, but he got smart and traded in his wings while he still could. Going from being a fighter ace to being a loving husband and father took some getting used to, but Erik is handling it well… until the zerg threaten his home and his family once again.

Really enjoyed this one; it's a shame it always seems like such a bad idea to land Vikings on the ground! Hehe.

Here's a new piece from the Popped Culture series: Buzz Lightyear. Enjoy it and his sad story...

As Buzz's final moment came before him, he glared into the black abyss, only capturing one last one thing: a promise he made his son:

"I will always protect and watch over you. To infinity and beyond."

Buzz was an all American hero. He worked for the Star Command Army and had been recently promoted to Staff Sgt, leading the young and brave through interstellar wars against the evil alien terrorist, Zurg.

While deep in space, Buzz's ship was pulled into a worm-hole caused by his arch-nemesis Commander Zurg. Buzz tried everything in his power to turn his ship around, but to no avail. At this point, Buzz and his crew only had one option: abandon ship.

As the ship took more damage, the rescue pods began to deplete. Buzz allowed each member to escape as he tried to give them every last minute--until finally, it was too late.

Buzz, and his cruiser, were pulled into the worm-hole, and was never seen or heard from again. Buzz was announced dead by Star Command and the world mourned for the hero that saved over two hundred lives that day. He would leave behind his beloved wife, daughter and son.

However, Buzz did not die that day. He awoke to find himself still trapped into his own ship. All in tact, and still in his suit, he tried to escape but realized he was imprisoned, bound by wires.

This would be the first day of Buzz's new life, cast away into another dimension from Zurg's worm-hole, Buzz was no longer the human he once thought he was.

For now Buzz was wrapped away as an action figure, and on his way to a birthday party for a young boy named Andy.

Buzz's very own son.

Voici la version remaniée de "Alone on the Road". J'ai d'ailleurs commencé par ce plan pour ensuite en faire le plan plus large... Je m'en voulais un peu d'ailleurs, c'est pour cela que j'ai décidé de reprendre le plan sous ce point de vue en espérant que celui-ci soit mieux mis en valeur!

Tried some new techniques and things with this, but jeez there was a lot to do! Finally got it done.

When I was a kid I used to watch quite much wrestling, because we had a satellitedish in the building I lived in and those days it was a rare treat to see any other channels than just the Finnish ones. A little tribute to that I guess, all those great plots, events, characters and entertainment.

Commissioned by ~b8factor. I was excited to work on a painting of one of my favorite games back when Homeworld2 released. While I haven't played it in years, the game has a huge impact on how I paint space scenes, and influences how I design ships. Few space or RTS games to date have left such a mark on me.

Under the shadow of colossal Progenitor derelicts, a Captain watches as special cargo is transported by frigate to another battlecruiser. Escort frigates and fighters screen the area. For anyone with the privilege of looking out a window the remnants of the galaxies past on a nebulan horizon would be quite the view.

It's been a while since I did a personal piece, and I decided to join this weekly's creature concept challenge over at conceptart.org. It's a bit more detail then I usually put for my piece, but I like how it turned out.

Haven't thought of a detail description for the beast yet. The idea is that million of years ago when the world was near extinction, insect parasite attached to living animals for survival and as the day passes, both the insect and the creature needed each other for survival and the magic of evolution has fused the two together into one and caused the giant mutation of the creature resulting in the current form.

Sometimes certain images or ideas can stay for years in your mind until you 'release' them into some physical form.

For this one I wanted a vast mongolian type landscape with a warrior coming back home after long journey. You know some cultures have a tradition of greeting their land or saying goodbye.

This one was extremely tough to pull off. They wanted to show the splicer doing his work, his victim, and what the end result would be. I don't think it worked out, but the final image is pretty creepy and unsettling, and I'm happy with those outcomes any time! <3

A blast from the ancient past... In looking through my archive, I came across this and decided to post it.

This is the key concept for the main ships of the bad guys, the Drej...

This was an acrylic painting, about 12" x 18" on Strathmore cold-press illustration board. "Titan AE" was a fun project - and working in animation was a nice change of pace from the live action film work...

This is also one of the few traditional art pieces I have in digital format
