My partner has been asking me ever since we met to make him panna cotta. I always put it off because I'd rather try something daring. I finally gave in, much to his pleasure. He reports that my panna cotta is the best he's ever tasted. Thoguh I get the impression sometimes that whatever food is in front of him is currently the 'best ever'.

Regardless, it was a delicious dessert that I can now tick off of my Accomplished list. I served this one with a diagonally layered raspberry jelly and topped off with some raspberries.

A portrait on display at my cinema-inspired solo show MOMENTS, which opened June 7th at NYC's Bottleneck Gallery. (It was last Friday! The rain was TORRENTIAL, but thank you to everyone who braved the tropical storm and showed up anyway!)

This was inspired by Tesla's lightbulbs in Nolan's The Prestige. Not a big or important scene but somehow I remembered it the most - it was just an ethereal moment. Painted with a Cintiq 21UX tablet in Adobe Photoshop. Reference: [link] Used a texture from *Sirius-sdz

Almost a year ago I was inspired to create these and only this month did I finally have the opportunity to finally make them! During my travels I had come across paper craft figures that were double sided. I had always been intrigued with papercraft and finally had the inspiration I needed so I drafted a pattern and forgot about the project because it wasn't working as I wanted it to and I was battling with deadlines and schoolwork. Only recently did I find my old pattern among some scattered papers sitting on my desk got the courage to try it again. Unfortunately I can't find the papercraft pieces that inspired me, if you know of the artist I'll be glad to credit them

I told you to expect some more Being Human none sense I felt the double sided figure idea was perfect for the protagonists of the show, George, Mitchell, and Annie as they each have two very distinct sides to themselves as characters. For the papercraft they're happily sipping tea and coffee on the front and on the back their true supernatural form is revealed.

The trio currently sits on my desk, continuing to enjoy their tea and viciously guarding my pens and quills. I plan to release the pattern if you fellow BH fans are interested and would like a copy of the trinity to enjoy. I have some things I wish to correct with the patterns, if there is anything you think should be changed feel free to give me your ideas. So far I need to fix George's head (though my intention was to give him a big head, I really didn't intend to make his head so large). Make Mitchell's 5 o'clock shadow more apparent (he looked so stubbly on the computer...), make Mitchell's evil side leather jacket easier to see, and give Annie's evil side arms.

Totally random piece I did yesterday. Been meaning to do one at some point in time just...wasn't expecting it to be now.
I miss my childhood, everything was so much better back then (Shows, animu, less awkward turtles and people made of cray everywhere I go) and the fact is hammered in even more so as I go on a daily marathon in watching xfiles (somewhere in season 3 right now. Dammit it's so good. Didn't watch as a kid because it scared me shitless but- but...HNGGGG <3)

I don't know. Honestly, it wasn't like that until I finished it, and while checking it on rotation I found myself in a weird dilemma. lt sort of felt right this way but a little silly at the same time so I slept on it a bit...and woke up to the same dilemma. Eventually I went with my gut D8< (Probably why this looks so stupid. My gut is stupid.)

Not totally sure if I'll print this, it was kind of one of those out of the blue sort of things. Maybe I'll get a few and keep it upside down....just to watch the people coming to our tables crane their necks in confusion.

Anyway...something really ridonculously girl to counteract all the actiony league of legends stuff. It's been a while...}

Coloring takes a lot longer than I expected... and I'm actually not all that happy with it. I'm not sure if I will continue to color these silly little comics in the future.

Every time I get to the this scene in Mass Effect 2, I just wish I could skip it. I don't like being yelled at. It seems yelling back or punching him isn't an option.

Mass Effect is awesome. I own nothing.

Props to troodon80 for reference models. His pictures made it a LOT easier to get the armors looking right. To be fair, I did take some artistic licence with the armors, and by that, I mean I simplified them mostly because I'm a bit lazy.

Also, Jack is wearing a shirt. Her nipple-tape necklace thing she has in game is stupid. I'm sorry, it just is.

Drawn in my sketchybook. Re-drawn with my Bamboo tablet in Manga Studio. Colored and edited in Photoshop.

Edit: In case anyone cares, I sketch ideas very simply at first, often going through several draft versions before I finally scan one sketch that becomes the basis for the final, inked version. This is how ideas evolve.

Mass Effect Crack: No Virmire (Color)

So, I hadn't originally planned to do this, but... A colorized version of
I'm testing out a new coloring technique. It was quite quick, at least.

Does anyone notice that the way the Council gives you the Virmire mission makes it sound like it's optional? Turns out it's not. But I can dream, can't I?

In case anyone is wondering, no, this isn't part of the Virmire comic series I've been talking about making. That's still coming, but probably not anytime soon.

I applied what I learned from my last attempt at comics. I made the background and foreground separately, simplified the shading, and used some effects to make the holograms look a bit more... hologramy. It only took me about... three days to finish. That's pretty much a record for me. I think in the future I'll use thinner lines. 0.3 might be a bit too thick.

Sketched on paper, inked in Manga Studio, finished in Photoshop. I used screenshots and XNA for references.

I also used [link] by Forever-in-a-day as a pose reference (although I obviously changed it a bit) for the last panel. Actually, you could say that Forever-in-a-day is sort-of the inspiration for this, since their page is pretty much all about spreading love for Kaidan and Ashley. You should totally go check it out. Special thanks to The-JoeBlack for making the Normandy interior available for XNA Lara. [link] It really helped a lot to be able to explore the ship and look at things from different angles, without things like characters getting in the way.

Edit: Woops! There was a color problem with the lettering. I fixed it.

I haven't a clue how long it took me to finish this but it was very fun and rewarding. I think I spent three evenings before bed working We were looking through things to submit to a contest and I had just finished this so I offered it. At first my parents ignored it because they thought I was jokingly showing them a photograph, it was only a few seconds later they realized I had painted it (so hi contest people, if by some horribly miraculous miracle you manage to happen upon this picture, yes it does belong to the person who submitted it to you, and yes, that person did add an overlay of rainbow colors).

I recently made an Spotify account and realized they had all the Being Human soundtracks, which was marvelous because I was struggling trying to listen to the limited collection of songs offered on youtube. I always loved the soundtrack to the show. The songs, though simple, really create paradoxically eerie and happy atmosphere and are so compelling, I especially adore how they utilize violins and cellos, it just has such a wonderful British and Nostalgic feel to it. To celebrate my discovery I felt obligated to paint Mitchell - Aidan Turner has the nicest most tempting to draw expressive face, I can't express that enough, he's my Dorian Gray I swear, he'll be the death of me. While working on this I listened to my favorite songs from the albums; Drawn Together, A Wonderful Thing, and You Made Me Human.

I wasn't intending to keep the little quote for the dA upload but it looks so much better without the empty space, and Mitchell's other quotes are much too long - of course I could had put the "I've killed more people than you've met" lecture but, I needed something lighthearted to counter balance all my sobbing due to the depressing music I was subjecting myself to (painting and drawing are not so dissimilar to acting).

Oh, I'm actually contemplating re-watching it a fourth time, that's how much I adore the show. I was hoping to kidnap someone and subject them to my marathon, I need a shoulder to sob on and someone to nerd out with whenever an obscure supernatural remark is made - "at least I don't have to shave my palms!" being only one of many of these humorous statements. You'll see something else Being Human related being posted shortly so, either wait excitedly or roll your eyes

If you haven't played, well you should, it has everything, aliens, awesome sets, super cool chara designs, impressive story, romance, and much more. It won my heart already with the part of making decitions and customizing the character haha xD.

How I See Color - A Tutorial

Okay, I wish this could be a hundred pages longer. Color's such an intense and complex subject, there's so much that you can do with it...

Also I'm a little less than impressed with how the colors look when I switch to my other monitor after having drawn on the Cintiq. That always irks me, monitor differences :/

I didn't want to type it out because I think more about what I'm saying when I write it, and when I type I tend to ramble. Like now, I guess.

Anyway, if this helps even a couple of people, then it was worth the hours I spent on it. I'll be happy to answer any questions anyone has, to the best of my ability. If you want to tell me I'm wrong about something, OK, but make sure it's only a factual thing we're discussing. Color is completely up to each person, so let it be something factual if you'd like to debate something I've said.

Anyway... Yeah, thanks a ton to *YooMe for compiling all the images for me and making little buttons and the preloader and stuff. I don't know how to work Flash very well.

Hello! I'm back again with chaplette i!
This mini-comic (chaplette, as I call it) re-introduces us to Ilias as he arrives in Brookham and becomes part of Brookham Night, 5 months before Chapter 1.
I'm insanely proud of this chaplette, artistically and in a lot of other tiny ways though. It's more the spirit of TWiDI now than Chapter 1 (which uses a pretty old, very early story).

But anyway hope you enjoy reading this!
