• How to get Image URL?: [link]


• Background image doesn't repeat This isn't an error. This is how it is. You must use a wide and tall image to cover all the background. This is not an officially supported feature, so it is far from perfect.


• Does this work at Groups? Not perfectly. At groups the image will push the content down. So you can use small image as header or something, but not as background.


• I am an Internet Explorer user. I don't have "copy image url" at right click. What to do? First of all: Don't be an Internet Explorer user. But if you want to continue to be one, you should write a comment with an URL to the page that contains the image you want to use and I will give you the image URL.


• It hides donation button. What to do? Put several line breaks in the div so the button is "pushed down". At donation polls it is a good idea to use small but wide image.

  • From now on only image url's are accepted because lot of people tried to feed it with deviation url. This means only urls ending with .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .gif are good. You can copy urls that have ?something at the end, this isn't affect this rule (for example ...someimage.jpg?sometext)

Ever since dAv5, many users have been unhappy with various aspects of dA's layout and design. Some decisions on font size, margins and spacing have clearly been neglected.

And so deviantTIDY was written, to claim back much of that wasted space! Inspired by some of `mindfuckx's CSS mods for Firefox, deviantTIDY was a very lightweight modification to fix comment boxes and various other assets on dA pages, to make things clearer and more streamlined. Since then, it's expanded to cover lots of other annoyances, big and small, to improve the look and usability of the site, and with a JavaScript interface, it's fully customizable too.

• Wider, shorter Comment Boxes: deviantTIDY lets comments utilize the whole page width, and indents replies from the left margin only. Reducing the minimum height of boxes also means you can see more comments per screen. Also, really long comments can be turned into scrollable elements.
• Distinct Signatures: Deviants' signatures are separated from the comment text only by a double-dash, making it hard to read where the comment ends and the signature begins. deviantTIDY converts this double-dash into a solid line which visually separates the two parts, and also makes the signature text smaller.
• Indent guides: A problem that has been around as long as nested comments is the difficulty you face in working out who replied to who in long and complex discussions. With deviantTIDY, just point at a comment to see guide-lines in the left margin, showing you the exact nest level the comment is on.
• Cleaner Forum threads: Thread listings are now easier to browse, with all unnecessary icons removed, and shorter table rows (one line high instead of two, doubling the number of threads you can see per screen).
• Floating comment box: If you want to be able to type your comment on a deviation or journal while looking at the original, without having to constantly scroll up and down the page, this feature allows you to make the reply box float above the page content, following you wherever you scroll. Press ALT+SHIFT+C to activate it.
• Mood-less: Moods aren't the most useful feature in dA. They can also be distracting. Set your preference to hide all mood icons in comments, and hide the mood selector when posting comments.
• Hidden Subscription Links: Don't be reminded about whether you're subscribed or not every time you look at the message bar.

Install the Extension
This add-on is for Firefox.
Click the Download link above to get the extension. You should get a security prompt, so click Allow, follow the installation procedure and restart Firefox to see the results.

Install the CSS separately
If you use Stylish, then go to the user-style link at the top of the page and click 'Load into Stylish' to install.
To use the CSS in other browsers, click Show Code and copy the contents into your browser's custom stylesheet file.

Install the Script separately
The script can be installed via Greasemonkey. Visit the link to the user-script at the top of the page and click Install this Script.

How can I check that deviantTIDY is working?
When you first install deviantTIDY (or the script component), a dialog will appear when you visit deviantART. You're good to go!

Can I use deviantTIDY with [insert your favourite skin or script here]?
deviantTIDY can be used safely in combination with other custom deviant skins and scripts because it does the very minimum amount of changes required to get the desired effect. In the rare event of clashes in styles or broken functionality, tell me about the issue, and include info about the other mods you are using.

• Now multiple URLs that share the same domain can have different thumbnails. Reoccurring URLs will be suffixed with an ordinal number.
• Added font definitions for the search field and the button.

To Install

1. Download the .rar file by clicking the download button. ( download winrar for free here: [link] )
   
2. Unpack the file
3. Put the images online ( on a free host or your own server )
4. Important: update the links to those images n the CSS.
5. Copy the html and css in the right boxes in your journal ( read the info I wrote in the html.txt file )
