Conrad was always a tad different from the other kids. First off, his parents always packed his lunch in brightly coloured paper. Second, he was incredibly fascinated by small worms and insects. Oh, and he was also a cave monster, descended from a rare species of mountain based monkeys.

That didn't stop him from trying to enjoy life to the full though. This all ended one evening when somebody stole his butterfly collection. He became... moody.

This piece started off in Zbrush to get the concept nailed down, along with a photoshop paintover. I then brought into modo to retopologize it. Once the topology was working, I kept on sculpting it in ZBrush until I was satisfied. For texturing, I used Mari, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite apps. I brought it all together in modo for rendering. I did post work on it in Photoshop for the final touches.

Hey everyone sorry for not posting in a while, but I'm trying to be more reserved about what I post here. I want to keep my goofy sketches and random experiments mostly locked away in my conceptart sketchbook.

I thought these were pretty fun though... This was me attempting some classic toon style Mary Blair-esque concept environments for a game project I'm working on with friends. The top is the most recent and the bottom was done a couple days ago before I had any research. Hope you enjoy I would like to do more stuff like this in the future if there is any interest.

Story: So the jewelers guild that my girlfriend and i belong too, have a few jewelry cases at the largest rock and gem show in Canada. They were asking the members to make some sort of pin or broach, so i decided to go the opposite rout of everyone else in the group and make myself a cloakpin. As one of the ladies in the group pointed out it works amazingly well as a hair tie.

Circle: Made from high temperage aircraft aluminum.

Size: Outer diameter 3"

Process:
1-Designed in photoshop and printed out on paper

2-glued paper too metal with glue-stick

3-drilled holes with #70 drillbit

4-Hand sawed center area, then filigree areas with a self tensioning jewelers saw and 3 ought blades

5- hand filed the seperate levels then beveled the filigree areas

6-sanding and polished

Center Pin: Square bar aluminum stock

Process:
1-cut proper length of stock

2-inserted into vice and turned by hand with a cresent wrench to achieve spiral

3-hand filed grip area and piercing point.

4-poished

first of all, thank you everybody for your comments and opinions. i do appreciate them all! <3

so like i said, this is a commission, and had a quite tight briefing especially regarding the chest area. the client paid money for it and i tried my best to fullfill his expectations. in the end he was very happy about it so was i with having my job done right and making a person happy, receiving the work he was paying for.

personally, i would´t have gone that big and eyepiercing but i have no regrets either. it´s not meant to be a design for a game or movie, neither is it a design for you or me. so let´s just be happy for david can we?

This an Aptitude Testing for Tencent in fact, I finnally decided to find a job, because I need goddamn money, because I can barely pay my rent now, I'm not happy about this, why do we have to live like this, work like a mechine, even so I still can't afford to buy my own house because of its goddamn high price in China, you need 50 thousand USD to buy a decent house (about 100 m2), average wage in Shenzhen is around 800 USD, so you have to work for like 50 years without any spending to pay for it.

I have always been a huge fan of the metroid series, this is of course samus aran in that booth scene where all her armor gets repaired, although the depiction never seemed fair to what the concept was actually stating, you know, an armor being repaired would have some welding involved, so that's why I made this. This is purely fan art, I do not own the names and/or characters, and it is non-commercial for pure enjoyment, so, hope you enjoy.

The medium is photoshop CS.

PS: The Ice beam was always my favorite.

FUSE Raven Facility Boss V2

This is a middle-of-development boss concept from Insomniac's new game Fuse. This is from when the style was leaning a bit more towards the "Overstrike" look, this is also the second version of this boss. It is kind of an odd design, but at the time it was very important it was built around the gameplay mechanics of the boss. While there is still a boss in "Raven Facility" level (I usually call it Airbase Level) it looks waaaaay different.
