I got tons of faves, but I'd really appreciate to learn something about my works! What is good, what may I improve!

November sees the leave change their colors from green, to yellow to fiery red! Large bouquets of small maple leaves Autumn are popular with junior Maiko and are especially attractive thanks to shidare.

You can easily see the difference between the first and last leaves I've made - practice makes perfect!

All textiles have been hand-dyed from scratch!

The metal is ancient bronze (cu90:sn10) very tough metal, it is harder then cast iron, I alloy the metal myself using copper scraps (wires, pipes) and tin. This piece can be cast in silver too. The metal weighs about 5 grams (very light), and is about 4.2cm long. As usual the cord is three braid waxed hemp with adjustable length.

I'd say it's collaboration between me and =Ahkward She did a fast sketch of landscape in person, which I saw and really liked. I liked her idea and choice of unusual colors. Then I decided to adopt it and do a full painting digitally, yep I'm proud of it because I have no skill to finish my digital pieces but this one feels more completed than most of my others... I really want to learn doing complex digital illustration and landscapes which I admire from many skilled artists- which I really struggle to achieve what I want. With digital, I have a very bad color perception and mixing which is an opposite world than what I do traditionally and as well polishing shapes and textures.
I need to stop getting so discouraged and keep trying. Trying and trying.

Realizing that my mother in law's birthday was just two days away and I was still missing a birthday gift for her, I decided to finish up the four owls that were closest to completion and let her pick one. She picked the white owl with a green belly. Oh, and these guys introduce a new size as they are smaller than the original three owls I made close to a year ago. :3

I'm hoping to finish the rest soon, as well as a certain horse plush I've been devoting much of my time to over the recent weeks. In the mean time I wish you a happy Easter!

continuation of a body of work dealing with life cycles, for my image & text class.
this was also a response to, and indirect attempt to communicate the feeling of, the real life experience of stumbling across animal bones in a field one evening. my boyfriend and i collected them (they were everywhere once we started paying attention) and i was able to draw those same bones from life in "contract". bones are odd things, brittle and fragile in places and unbreakable in others, always smaller than you expect them to be, and they feel and sound like toy blocks if they're knocked against each other.

So, I super-super-quick threw together this tutorial.. It's a step-by-step of how I take a drawing and give it some flat colors and textures, so it looks almost like a screenprint or something.
The tutorial should be detailed enough that even someone who has hardly used Photoshop can understand it, and (I think) atypical enough to be worth a glance through even if you're a more advanced user.

If you have an older version of Photoshop, or are trying to do this with a different program, and some steps or menu paths are different, I probably won't be of too much help; sorry! I'm happy to answer other questions though. ]]>
