I was going to go for a three dimensional type of cell shading, but it would had looked too busy with all the other details. Therefore I chose a simpler method of only shading a few things (red gradients in the skin and other parts, but very minimal) so that the characters would "pop" from the busy background.

I think that, considering Takeuchi's treatment of her characters in the artbooks, cell shading would have looked strange anyway. For her illustrations it looks like a lot of care is put into the treatment of the skin. Cell-shading is typically done when there is limited time and resources (most anime is created based on limited time and resources to create the most cheaply and easily reproducible product afterall) so I think a gentle gradient works better.



This is the largest drawing I have done to date. (I think it also has the most people in it too). It's also my largest photoshop file (Oww, why is it 621MB?).

My favorite season was SuperS because Sailor Moon demonstrated the most courage in that season (jumping off a building to save someone else? Reckless, but brave), but I also like the other seasons for their display of friendship and companionship. I guess if I had to choose a second, it'd be Super for using the biggest variety of characters. But really, I kind of like every version of Sailor Moon: Each season there's something to like about the show, so it's hard to really pick a favorite and stick with it.

It seems to me that each version of Sailor Moon is likable because of the version before it (and after it).

I could not figure out a way to include the Moon scepter D:
Let's just assume that it was left out because it isn't canon based on the manga.

besides the popular "why do you love foxes"- question, the most popular question people ask me is "can you give me tips on drawing foxes?" or something like that.

well...here we go. a long long long promised, crappy tutorial about drawing foxes. (btw. while browsing through dA i realized that there are - as always - a dozen wolf tutorials while you just rarely find good fox tutorials...bla. i love it to be a rebel )

cave: this tutorial doesn´t show the basics of drawing, it just give you tips about drawing foxes.

fantastic characters - doesn´t matter if hybrids of thousands of critters in it, are okay for me - as long as it can be loosely recognized as an animal and not a complete ugly monster-mutant-thingie.
a little tatoo, a single collar is okay too - but no overload of earrings, pendants and so on.
characters with five colours or six or seven or eight are okay as well - but not twenty or thirty, including extreme neon pink or green or something like that.
little fluffy features here and there - is also okay - but i do not mean hyperfluffiness.

if your character is a dog with a little sign, thats okay - i never said that this makes your character a sparkledog. the thing i despise are those mentioned omguberhyper-designs, which makes your eyes bleed and are just plain kitschy....

less is more. thats the essential thing i tried to say. and at the end, its also a matter of taste.
no offense to you or any other people. its just my opinion. i respect yours, so please respect mine - nuff said. ]]>

Finally! The shoot that me and =RaeyenIrael-Stock did together!
We did much jumping, leaping, fighting with costumes, realising that we don't really know how to use spears/blow horns/climb trees without getting stuck/or stay upright at the best of times.
I don't think I've ever been more scratched and bruised from a stock session before. So proud of myself!

I'm surprised the stock costumes held up actually. Since I am a complete n00b at making things. But here you have it. The shoot I was looking forward to doing for YONKS.
