Hello there

Following my new year's resolutions to update more often, here I am.

Well OK, it's cheating, since this piece has been done in 2010 for Digital Artist mag, issue 12 (I think). You can see the "making of" process there.

Done in Photoshop in loads and loads of hours. I've used an airbrush quite extensively for detailing, which was a new thing for me.

Used some refs for the flowers and gold elements, as well as posed in the mirror for quite a bit until I got the pose right. That's about it

well, finally a new work from me..
this picture was started almost 3 years ago, but over time due to it being so detailed (one of the most detailed works I did probably) I got lazy with it, and I just couldn't find any will or time to bring myself to finish it. but, a sudden surge of inspiration came over me these last couple of days, so here it is...another in the "Twisted Fairytales" Series.

The concept:
She lives in a garden of shadows, where all hope is gone (the empty cages).... just a tiny shred of hope is still alive for her, giving her the chance to live and see the light again (butterfly is hope and the blind folded eyes means that she denies to see that there's still hope for her)

Next tones to experiment will be red and green.

My entry for the Yuumei-contest! c: This was very fun to do. I'm surprised that it came out so serious and 'deep' though x3. I usually choose a humorous approach to things, but in this case, where most of the other entries were humorous, I chose to do something serious for once c:

I wanted to do something different too. And since there were so many comics about the quirks of an artist, I wanted to do one that described the 'evolution of an artist'. I find it interesting how some people have always known that they wanted to be an artist (me for example x3) I wonder why this is. Why do some children become interested in art, while others don't?
I also find it intersting how you keep maturing as an artist as you get older. I don't know if you ever truly 'bloom' though, like in the comic. You keep evolving as long as you live. But i do believe there's a point in every artists life, where you figure out what you want to do, or get another kind of artistic revelation.

I hope you like this! Since it was so long, I had to spend less time on the art, and more time on actually getting it finished. I tried to let the style change bit as the main characters gets older though. It's more sketchy when she's young, and gets more mature as she gets older.

Even though the main characters is named Ida, it's not really me this comic is about. I'm still struggling with finding out were I want to go with my art. I hope that one day I will find out though c:

I'm sorry if there are any spelling mistakes in here. If you find any, please tell me! c: I'm also a bit unsure about the the word 'bloom', at the end of the comic. In norwegian, there's this word, 'blomstre', which means when a flower is fully matured, but can also be used to describe sometging else, like a person, who's finally... matured in something. In appearance for example. or art, music etc. I used google translate to find a similar word in english, but all it gave me was the word 'flourish', which I don't think is right. I searched for a better word, and found 'bloom'. what do yout think about this? Does it seem like the right word?

Since I'm rummaging photos for my portfolio for the thesis and taking a very short break from bombarding my gallery with Dragon Age art, I thought I should post new photos too.

One of my many photos from our batch's fashion show, which the whole team worked on from scratch, last February 24.

This is the start of one of the avant garde design of one of the collections, specifically Hippie Legion. The fashion show's format designated dramatic entrances for each of the avant garde designs per collection.

I was the Asst. Head of the Documentations team and had fun taking runway shots. This is one of my favorites.

Honest to God, I haven't been quite this proud of one of my works in a very VERY long time.
Worked on this 6h straight, changing things again and again because I wanted it to be just perfect!
