My psyche in this pic is a fiery spiritual cat. The fieriness (fire) is my motivation and passion for life and for art. The cat also represents the times when I'm energetic and motivated. They are also frisky as well. Cats also have large moments of solitude, however that doesn't mean they don't love attention.

I love warm colors.

A Grown Up Hot Mess....

A Grown Up Hot Mess is still just a hot mess. Submitted for the Hot Mess Art Contest.

The idea for this is something that happened recently for me. I was taking my kids to the park when I witnessed an older child push my son off the swing. Their voices are the thoughts that ran through my mind.

-Panda is my "Mama Bear" voice. Everything for her is black and white. You mess with the cubs, she'll tear you apart.
-The Owl is my proper self. Those books he's standing on are various etiquette, manners, and social graces. He's read each one dozens of times
-The Frog is my Zen. He's the little voice telling me to relax and calm down. Things will work out best if I don't over react.
-And the Platypus. Not a duck, and not a beaver. He believes himself (and therefore, me) to be an outcast. That no matter what I do, the worst will happen. His is the voice I hear most often.

Bird and turtle

Oh well this is for a contest hel by I do not know if it is still in time but... I try.

These are the animals that represents me...I think

Turtle: I always believed that I am a person with cold blood, I am charging batteries most of the time (some people call it lazyness) but when I really want to do something I do it right, and try until the end (like the rabbit and the turtle. That apllies to my studies, once I got a D in a college midterm exam but I pass in the end...hope this happens again lol) And I also try to be down to earth.

Bird "nightingale" : For me a bird is freedom, there are times when I just wanna drop everything, leave my home, college and work and travel around the world..but it is dangerous to travel alone, at least my mind is free. I can imagine flying everywhere. (BTW I am from Peru so here is uncommon to leave the house until you marry or move in with your bf/gf )

I choose the nightingale because of his "singing" also, makes me remember my little inner "artist"/dreamer that I used to have and sometimes awakes, and make me dream/believe again.

man. i draw people just fine, but the second you tell me to draw myself i suck. oh well...

now for my explanation.

if i had to pick an animal that is like me it would be a frog.
frogs are sometimes quiet, but can get loud; the same goes for me. i don't really like to talk much, but when i feel that something needs to be said im not afraid to say it.
just as frogs lie in wait to catch prey, im always hungry and have enough patience to see things through.
i, like a frog, seem calm on the outside; but the minute something startles me i ready to book it out of there as fast as i can (no i don't hop).
on top of all that my friends say im like a frog because i always sit like one.

as you can see from the picture, me and my frog psyche love playing the DS (no i don't really have i frog...)

that's a white-lipped tree-frog for anyone who cares...

This is an entry for 's hot mess contest.

this probably took me at least 7-8 hours total. i sketched and inked it on paper ( took me longer than normal, since i'm really working on my anatomy), which is why the lineart is not as crisp as digital art.

i feel as though snakes share my psyche in a few ways: reaction, balance, speed and strength.

i am not all of these, but they are attributes that i've always found to be fascinating. it's fun to react quickly to something, just as it is oddly fun to balance on random things. (sometimes i stand on the bus discretely to practice, and i sometimes walk back and forth on logs/the backs of couches)

i have a pet snake, which is a red tail boa. many boa's live around trees, and i love climbing trees.

have you ever seen a snake raise it's head in the air, to the point where they are supporting over half their body with simple balance and strength? i'm not exaggerating when i say it's an incredible sight.

that kind of strength and balance is a sort of inspiration for me, and that's what this picture represents. the staff/club/glaive is simply there to emphasize stability and balance.

i colored this in gimp, since my sai 30 day trial ended. there is no BG, because i started this 2 days ago, and am uploading it a few hours before the deadline. i think it's good, since i had no initial BG's come to mind as i made this. but perhaps i'll add one some day.

First of all there's me, Sarah, drawing... it was supposed to say Dark under it (short version of my username), but it looks more like dork... both apply xD

Shepherd is a fiercely protective german shepherd. He's extremely loyal and lovable, but if you threaten my friends and I he won't hesitate to snap. He would be the one to try to get me outside and play and be social.

Rae is a huge turtle who never leaves his shell. He has scars on his shell by those who tried to force him out, but he still never leaves. He would be the one that would try to get me to stay in bed under the covers all day. His catch phrase would be "Is Reagan still president?" XDD

Kit is fairly new so he's still a kitten. He's very appearance orientated, but he's also lazy. He likes to lay around in the sun. He also gets distracted easily. I blame him for the lack of color.

We had to draw ourself with some animals which represent our personality.
I've chosen the shark, the goldfish, the weasel, the mouse, the sheep, the vulture, the cat and the squirrel :>

The mouse
'I am the king of the world!!' Sometimes I overestimate myself and my skills. But I do this with a lot of fun
The sheep
I am a crazy person who is able to change from angry to funny and happy within seconds. Sheeps are always smiling, always looking confident.
The squirrel
I LOVE to collect things. Everything - even if I don't need it. While collecting I am defending the stuff I am collecting. ('THIS is a special piece of paper. It is UNIQUE!)
The vulture
I am morbid. Yeah, really morbid
The cat
Yes, I love to sleep and to relax - but I also like to play. This cat (the siamese with a clover growing out of its head) is a special cat. It is fat and really content. Sometimes it seems to be crazy or silly. It is foolish and you can easily play a trick on it. But be careful! ;D
The shark
I love meat. Yes. I can eat like a carnivore and I am (sometimes) as effective as a shark.
The weasel
I am squirrelly and fast. I can change my direction in seconds. Especially when I am following a chain of ideas...
The goldfish
Oh my! I am so forgetful. x)
The worm
I love books...and that is why I am a book-worm Haha

Everything else:
Nooo...I am not as fast as a snail. I don't know how it gets there. Maybe I am paranoid and I am trapped?

My drawing for contest about her comic Hot Mess c:

The task was to draw yourself with one or more animal who represents your personality.

I originally planed on adding a whole lot more animals, and i think i scraped a thousounds of drawings and ideas for this contest.

In the end did i end up with only one, this fish. I don't know what kind of fish it is. Imaginary fishie. c:

But why a goldfishish creature? Well, for once, people tend to tell my that i remind them of a goldfish with the memory of mine. It's not good. I tend to forget thing easliy x] The reason i choosed to give the fish the long fluffy things for the tail and fins is because i love dressign up. I can never get enough of dresses, skirts, pretty hair stuff. etc etc.
I don't know, i guess the little fishie is also my source to inspiration, i imagining her sitting next to me giving me hints about what to draw or something, therefore is it also her fault when i have a artblock :c oh well, always nice to have someone to blame.

Hot Mess A.C. Submission

This is my submission to the Hot Mess Art Contest! It's a Category 1 piece and it was made with printer paper, a no. 2 pencil and 24 Faber Castell GRIP watercolor eco-pencils (my favorite thing to color with!) Here's my paragraph;

I'm in the middle, wearing my favorite knee-socks and blue gym shorts. I designed the tank top myself, and I seriously want one if they're ever made. My creation/creatures names Webster, Brixie, and Coddle~Wings. Webster is the winged fox. He represents the graceful artist i can be. He's very creative and calm, and his tail is coated in paint that can change to be any color he wishes. Coddle~Wings is the purple and olive owl. She represents my intelligence, my adoration for books and knowledge, and the bit of me that is shy. She's quiet and wise and will give out information little at a time, but has a secret fire within her. She is very sweet. Brixie is the last one, a creation of my own. She represents my spunk, bright ideals and kindliness. She can fly, like the other two, and excels at making new friends and social things. She's very energetic and muscular, though she looks fat.

I really hope I'll win, even though I'm almost absolutely sure I wont. I saw so many great entries, and though I'm proud of mine (I spent two hours on it) I doubt I'll win. Still, it's good to enter these things, you know? I wouldn't want to turn into a Slumper!

Chip, little madness (in the upper right corner). Crazy and evil cat. He says the worst things. LIkes pain and my tears.

Stripy (in the lower left corner). Сurious and constantly surprised person. Naive and a bit silly. Cat with flowers above his head and with three points (triangle) under the left eye.

Amata, black cat (in the lower right corner). Serious person. Always thinks, argues. Not evil, just serious.

My inner voices

This is my entry for 's Hot Mess contest

So, starting up on top of my head is Monito, he is the hyper side of me. Sugar affects us both equally, good thing he's not real, the world could fall by having his mere presence XD He can make me go super annoying sometimes as well x3

KuroNeko, the little black kitty on my shoulders is whom make me go crazy sometimes after a guy. Yeah, I can go doodling hearts on my notebooks for months cuz this little girl fills my mind with fantasies x3

Raven there is a really good friend of Monito's. But, he is much more annoying the him. If he wants something, believe me he'll crow until you give him whatever he wants.

Panda next to me is my peaceful self. He soothes me to calm down whenever Goat (soon to explain) blazes my brain. He is also my always-hungry side that is very picky when it comes to food.

Kosharo, the deer is one of my caracters and he represents my pride. He helps me stand and face whatever trouble is on the way. He likes to show-off too, he shows-off his little but growing strong antlers, I show-off my long black hair x3

Goat, he always get mad whenever he's bugged. He is very likely to thrash around whenever infuriated so don't get close. His rage is contagous so... don't get close or you'll both end up fighting for something that can be really stupid. XD He is pretty dangerous in just every way so my recommendations, DON'T GET CLOSE!

Sheep. Dear Sheep is my quiet and obedient side. He can tell right from wrong and will always do the right thing. He likes to be near Twet (soon to explain). Sheep is the one who keeps me away from troubles and has me hold on tight to my intact innocence.

Shadow, on the other hand, is my evil side. He hides near Panda to have a low profile but he's capable of doing much harm. He hates Sheep, and has always tried to get me to do the wrong thing. He likes to watch me crawl in pain and shed a never-ending river of tears

Finally, I have Twet. He is to me what Slumper is to Anna. Depressive. He makes me go so down sometimes even Monito needs reinforces to keep me smiling. To be clawless a lion cub has traumatized him for the rest of his life so it have build him a low self-esteem. Sheep and Monito are always trying cheer him up but is seems to be useless.

Pretty messed up right? xD

Hot Mess Contest Entry - CAKE

Now for my paragraph:

In my entry I decided to represent two parts of my own psyche. The first part is the pink parakeet, which I named Bon-Bon. He represents the part of me with good judgment. He always knows the right thing to do and he tells me what is best for me. While Bon-Bon does look after my health, sadly he isn't the part of me that I always listen to. The second part is the hyena, named Craig. He's the part of me that acts on impulses and often fails to see the long-term effects of those impulses (and loves sweets xD). He isn't very smart, unlike Bon-Bon, however his booming voice and use of repetition is hard to ignore, and so I take his decisions more into consideration than poor Bon-Bon's. While the comic is more humorous than anything, it is meant to show these two in an average situation, and how their opinions tend to clash and overall cloud my judgment. xP

This comic isn't too far off from how I usually think when junk food is in front of me.

FULL VIEW PLEASE!

Hey everyone! I drew this for a contest for a great webcoming called Hot Mess! (go search it-it's really great!) We were supposed to characterize different parts of our psyche with living creatures (animals, etc)

Contest by Go check out this deviant's art- it's brilliant- and not just the stupidfox art either, look at all of it!

Firstly, I'd like to say that I know my picture doesn't have a beautiful background or super-duper-detailed characters. This is because I really really wanted to work more on their meaning than worrying about spending several extra days trying to get the background right since i'm not the best at them. So instead, I decided to surround all my little 'voices' in a bit of yellow "glow", to highlight their prominence in my mind.

Jazz the Dragon- Always the energetic one, Jazz is the first one to want me to try something new. However, she is also the one who wills me to stumble headlong into situations without thinking first. Her constant lines are "let's go for it!" and "dooooo it!", and she often doesn't stop for rest. She (and obviously, me) is also known for tripping over things when moving too fast.

Yeena the Mongoose- Yeena is always looking for a joke to tell or, in certain situations, a funny pickup line. Yeena constantly tells me who I should go up to and make laugh. Her favorite joke (and thus mine) is the Nacho Cheese Joke, ("what do you call cheese that isn't yours?....NACHO CHEESE!)and she lives to make people laugh and smile. Sometimes, though, she forgets that not everywhere is a good place to make a joke.

Dramatic Dolphin- This is the name she's always gone by. Dramatic Dolphin (or DD) is constantly stating the 'what if's of a situation in the most extreme way possible. She represents, not necessarily just a paranoid side of me, but an overly excited side as well, though she isn't keen on jumping into things like Jazz is; she'd rather just talk about them.

Keenai-the-Wise- This is my Wyrron character. He is a combination between a Dragon, a Wolf, and A Deer. He, like DD, likes to talk about situations before jumping headlong into them, but contrasting, looks at the logical side of things, a.k.a. the facts and reality (this is why he is the only one sitting on the ground- because he's the only one down to earth). He often pricks me with his claws, though he doesn't mean to, because reality IS hard to face sometimes. Once in a while, though, his reality talks combined with DD's dramatic 'what ifs' call for suspicious observation.

Pinspot the Sea Urchin- Pinspot sits next to my neck, one of the most sensitive areas of my skin. He is the voice in my head that makes derogatory comments toward everyone, including me. He sometimes sits closer to me (pricking me with negative descriptions more often-mostly about myself), and he sometimes sits far away (so i can easily ignore his pricks-mostly about others). Unfortunately, though, he's always there, waiting until a day when I feel blue or a day when I'm feeling angry at someone.

Ant- Did you guys even see him the first time around? Look again- he's on my arm. This last (very important) part of my psyche speaks rarely; usually only one very well placed word every blue moon. Sometimes, the rest of my psyche team and I forget that he's there. He represents the fact that I can carry many times my 'weight', and, no matter the pain or the difficulty, i will keep on pushing as long as he's there. He never, EVER leaves my arm- so not to get stepped on, and to be there as a constant reminder that I am never alone.

Moonless Night

How does an everyday person stand out?
I physically STAND out alright.
Like a reindeer, my height is a bit...bigger compared to others. But not too tall, mind.
Though, I see no reason to be ashamed of it.

But compare me to a reindeer, I have my good and bad sides.
My good ones ain't too many as the bad ones.
Like the horns of a reindeer, I can twist and turn my imagination. As far as I can. But not TOO far.

But as hauntingly beautiful horns you see, it can swipe you to death. I am nothing but a lazy, hot-headed freak. My laziness does not only affect me, but the people surrounding me. My temper goes out of control sometimes.

But as I turn my back from these horrible sights, the fur of a majestic reindeer can be something you can compare to me when it comes to friendship. It's fur is not as thick and fluffy like a dog, but a reindeer's fur is as good as my sweetness.

An armor I seek though, no matter how people say they "know" me, it will always be a lie. I am hidden with a small armor. OF course all of us has their own little armor to protect our secrets, neh?

And alas! The strong foot of the reindeer is something I should cherish. No matter how DARK things are, I try to stand up, as high as I could go.

This is for the Hot Mess contest by . The Comic Hot Mess is about high-school freshman named Anna and the different sides of her psyche represented as animals. The contest was to draw yourself and at least one animal representing your psyche. I took the idea and ran with it.

The horse, or Dash, represents the instinctual and free spirited part of my psyche. He wants to be free from lifes troubles and worries but is also a pack animal and needs to be accepted by others to survive. This is the part of me that tells me to be myself and have fun while reminding me to be careful to not upset anyone and in turn make as many friends as possible.

The badger, Grumple, represents the violent, stubborn, and prideful part of my psyche. He always wants to fight to solve problems and refuses to look for other solutions or admit to being wrong. Although most of his suggestions are way more violent then need be, he helps me to be strong enough to overcome any obstacles in my way.

Fretta the field mouse is the timid side of my psyche that doesnt speak out but instead freezes up or panics when theres a problem. Her motto is back down, run away, or whatever it takes to avoid the issue. She takes over more so in situations that are uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Grumple is always yelling at her for her timid nature.

The Border collie, Stasia, represents lazy part of my psyche. She tells me to do whatever requires the least amount of effort. Though she is often a huge hindrance to school and other work, she reminds me to relax and take time for myself. Her mellow nature is also very attractive to guys, which would explain her position in the picture.

Last is Emily the barn owl. She is the intellectual part. She always nagging me about work before play, basically like my conscience. The reason as to why shes pulling my hair is because I dont normally listen to her, no matter how important or correct her advice may be. However, she usually manages to hush the others up well enough to make sure I make the right decisions when I really need to.

Im so beyond proud of how much work and effort I put into this. I worked on it on and off for a month. Starting a pose sketch and putting it down. Making the info on the psyches then putting them down. And so on and so forth. I used a bajillion references for colors and to make sure the positions didnt look funny but it was worth it. I really hope I do well in this contest. I committed myself to this and I hope it shows. Wish me luck!!

My entry to 's contest for the webcomic, Hot Mess. It's not colored because I don't know how to color (well/at all) on photoshop, and scanning colored pencils looks worse, so it's just lineart.

Materials used: 2h pencil, .5 mechanical pencil, standard pen (some hotel brand, nothing fancy), photoshop (for scanning and touch-ups)

The various animal persona's are, from right to left:
Fwump the slug- the personification of my procrastination. He tends to pop up when deadlines are fast approaching, re-assuring me that I can always do it tomorrow, even when I can't.
Bleat the goat- He's a loud fella, who tends to appear at random times to yell at me to write something, particularly Fanfiction or my current novel.
Adrian the vampire bat- the personification of the dark little voice in my head that just loves to break the rules. His advice usually consists of new ways to torture my characters, as well as tempts to light things on fire. Though he usually only wins out in the written world, sometimes his real-life advice is followed... getting me in more trouble than he's worth.
Darwin the sugar-glider- Quite the worrywart, Darwin expresses the eternal fear of judgment or sticking out from the status quo. He thinks I should lie low and try to fit in, and is constantly battling against Adrian, in fear that someday someone *coughmyparentscough* will read what Adrian's tempted me to write and ship me off to a nuthouse.
Jennifer the house cat- The voice of calm and reason, she gives the best advice of the lot. Though she tends to play it safe when it comes to decisions, she is the one who points out different points of view to me and helps me keep my cool.
Candi the hummingbird- My inner fangirl, Candi's the one that has me obsessively watching episodes of any of my many obsessions. She keeps with her an encyclopedia of knowledge from each fandom, all of which is useless to do anything with but rant to others who may or may not understand. She tends to go off on tangents at random moments.
Red Fox- I have no name for the fox, and am unsure of it's gender, though I think it may be a girl, so from now on I will refer to it as 'she'. She is my spirit guide, whom I saw on a guided meditation period. Though she does not talk, she is expressive through her eyes and body movements, and often leads me to answers I already knew, but may have been too stubborn to accept. Though she takes a backseat to the others, I look to her when something truly pressing comes up, and it is her guidance that I trust the most.

Dog- Represents the side of my playfulness and plently of engry to run around. Also I was told I when I am angry I can represent like a dog who show their bare teeth. But mostly like to take naps. XD

Turtle-Represents the side of me that is stuck in time, by stuck I mean time kept going while I just stop. XD I am slow in people's conversations, but when I know whats going on, I am smart. Also... I think WAY to much, which causes me to not make a quick and easy choice.

Cockatoo-This repsent the side of me that loves to find high places. I get scared of heights but I still push myself to go higher and higher. Someone who love the big wide open spaces and being free. Also the term Cockatoo has been use for people who watches others who undertake illegal activities. I watch over the ones I care for a lot. Too much that gets them annoyed by me.

Spider Monkey- I like to jump around a lot and climb on lots of thing. I am also a smart mouth and like to play games. But sadley, I sometimes doesn't know when to quit being like this during certain moment.

Penguin-I am not cute and cuddly, but like them, I like to swim and eat fish. But they represent how I can keep an eye on predators and try to survie the cold.

Animal Psyches

_{Hello everyone! This is a doodle i did over a couple of days, and i have decided to enter it in *SilentReaper's 'Hot Mess' contest. I have used watercolours, tea, and a black artline pen in this piece.

In this piece i have put two animals (and myself) which i think art two opposite parts of my psyche, the lion and a bunny

The lion is Uri (Anglicized form of Hebrew Uwriy, meaning "fiery" or "my flame, my light"). Since i am a leo i think the symbol of the lion has a lot to do with who i am. I think it is the part of me that demands respect, brings me strength, loyalty and courage, and also my lesser quality of pride.

Entry for 's Hot Mess contest 1: draw your psyche.

Write up-----
Carla the peacock is my girly side that I usually try to keep locked up in a cage somewhere, but she always gets out. She the one who wants me to wear dresses and be prim and proper.
That's where Celine the pup comes in. She tends to chase Carla away with her talk of soccer, wearing jeans and hanging out as 'one of the guys'. She is also my happy, hyper, artistic side whose 'puppy eyes' are hard to ignore.
All of this would be chaos if not for Ami the octopus. Ami is my rational, organized side that makes tons of lists and schedules everything. She's the one who kicks in when things get crazy and I need to focus, though for all her arms, she can't always keep Celine from bursting in.

When I saw this contest this is exactly what my brain did.

Eevee popularity, need for self-assurance, easy sellout route
Why should I put so much effort into anything else when Pokemon is the only thing people visit my gallery for? Its just accepted that whats already popular automatically gets more views. I do enjoy occasionally drawing pokemon, but it is just depressing that its the only thing in my gallery with more than 3 faves.

Stupid Fox distraction
I love doing contests, memes and fanart. But really there are just so many out there I get lost just browsing DA for hours. Obviously this voice won this round. I chose SF here both as a tribute to the hosting artist and cause it fit in with the others.

Reru confidence in your own path
Reru is the mascot of my own personal work as well as my test dummy for trying new art things with. Someday I would really like to do more with my own designs, like script a comic or create a game. Right now Im still reluctant to share my designs since they are close to heart.

Kikitsu guilt over childishness
I love D&D. I adore playing Taeryne as who I want to be but still a part of me. I spend days creating adventures and stories. I work at a game store and get paid to teach people to play this game! (and others too) Kikitsu is in fact my favorite thing to draw. But I feel so much guilt over wasting so much time and effort over a game...

Renoir my cat, reality/life
My cat as always was by my side while I worked on this. After spending any amount of time on the computer he always wants more attention. It is comforting to feel him purr. He is also sadly a very present reminder of real tasks that need attending. Cleaning, groceries and other chores dont do themselves; nor do jobs that pay rent and his expensive medical bills.

All done in Photoshop, about 6 hours work.

I like the concept of animals representing parts of someone's personality, so I entered.

Materials: sketchbook, pencil, Sakura inking pens, photoshop
I will now try to channel the Elephant and be as honest as I can.

CAT- Pride of Mine/ AL / Lawrence (I'm not sure what his name is): I always thought everyone else was somehow beneath me, and I distanced myself from allot of really friendly people, this is my sarcastic, sneering people-resenting side (inspired by this poem [link])

RED LIZARD- Hunger: yes, that red lump on my shoulder is a lizard, it is every negative thought that I have, very bad, very gross, very ugly, very stuck. (somewhat inspired by a scene in CS Lewis' book: The Great Divorce)

FIREY STALLION- Malekey: Drive and passion, usually for something positive, Malekey (yes its a cheesy name, deal with it) is what moves me to work on something, I don't like leaving things half done, and if I really want to do something then I will do it to my fullest capability

Elephant- Petros: calm, honest and contemplative, and able to work in groups, the Elephant is my loving and nurturing side, the part that loves stories and teaching young kids, also the part that loves song, Petros only rears his head occasionally, but when he does, people tend to notice

HOG-NOSED SNAKE- Wit: (I know the color is wrong for a hog-nose snake, but the picture already had to much brown) Wit is the creative, resourceful and inventive side, also sometimes the weird, morbid and creepy side of me. (Hog-noses have no arms or legs, but use their sharp tiped nose to dig and look for food, if thats not being resourceful and making the best of a situation, I don't know what is.

RAVEN- (I think its name is Skroop) This is the part of me that I still don't know, I am constantly learning more about myself and the Raven is teaching me more and more, I guess it could be considered the spiritual and/ or mysterious side of me

Peacock: It represents my rather cocky side, the side of me that gets absolutely full of it when I get complimented and is highly affronted whenever I am offended, causing me to puff up my tail, or really buff up my verbal abuses, and get revenge; it also stands for my more outgoing side, that even though it rarely shines, when it does, it tries to shine brighter than the Northern Star, even if it does falter a bit.

Cat: This cat is a Russian blue that is heavily based off of my sister's cat, Kiko, because he and I both love our solitude, appreciate alone time, get annoyed when there are too many people around, and we both like to eat a lot; it also just stands for how I'm actually extremely shy and I can't get past that shyness very well to make new friends unless I have old ones close at hand; it also shows the logic I use to try and keep myself grounded when dealing with my other sides.

Snake: The snake represents every doubt and insecurity that I've ever had about myself, from the fact that I'm too socially awkward to how inferior I feel compared to my older siblings to the fact that I know I failed some test or another, and it's a small snake because the doubts and insecurities are small at first, but they keep whispering at me and eventually get bigger until I rein them in.

Fairphant: My made up elephant fairy, it represents all of the good things I've ever thought about myself and how my imagination runs completely wild, especially when I'm reading, but it's also what keeps the snake from getting too fat off my doubts.

Materials used: pencil, Pilot pen, Crayola colored pencils, Foohy colored pencils, Prismacolor rubber eraser, tortillion, and a pencil sharpener.

It uses animals to display ones personality. The contest is also about this.

First let me explain about the harpy. Yes harpy. It displays me. She cannot fly because she is too heavy for her wings. Meaning: I'd like to be free, but theres too much holding me back to do so.
I've drawn her since i was like 12 or something, and shes still me.
I've edited the original one to the me in present time. I dont wear make-up, dont wear pants when i dont have to. I only wear black skirts and dresses. Nothing fancy, anything that doesnt make me look fat is fine.
Shes drawn skinny, tho im like a hippo this displays how i WANT to be. And the ponytail cuz umm... i always wear ponytail cuz my hair is so long -_____-''

Ok so the contest is about animals displaying parts of your personality. After long research (not really, but still), i found that Elephants can actually grief. So here goes...

Elephant: Heavy emotions like griefing, sadness, never forget anything important. They are heavy, caring and stay with the family at all times, even when it goes wrong. They stand up for each other, even those they dont know.

Lioness: Proud, strong sence of love, the care of a mother to her cubs, lazy but active when she has to. No waking her up or she gets mad. My anger outbursts are comparable with lionesses who protect their cubs.

Chihuahua (dog): Small and shakey (cuz they r cold, just like me?), get dressed up all the time (makes them emo ), dont listen much and have a hard voice. Altho they are loyal too and reliable when it comes to it.

I guess thats me in that few animals. I dont need more.
Please note that i have BPD (borderline personality disorder), wich means I feel emotions like 10 times more then normal people. So this contest was personally hard to enter, but i still did it.

So those animals are supposed to by part of my mind, or as they call it, psyche.
The ostrich is the stupid one scared of everything. I don't like him.
The viper is the traitorous and evil. Judge me, but I like him.
The tiger is the reserved and smart, he knows what he wants and how to get it. I love him.
The flying fish tells me stuff I'm not supposed to do (like fish aren't supposed to fly).
The baby polar bear is nice and friendly and somehow good friend with the tiger. Don't ask.

Btw, I started it lika a month ago, almost didn't finished it, but now did and while submiting it, I see so many parts that suck so much...

Chipmunk: The chipmunk represents everything childlike. Mostly hyperactivity, curiosity, and innocence. The others constantly have to keep an eye on him. He's pretty similar to Fribble. c:

Polar bear: The polar bear represents my protective/motherly side. She's right there whenever any of my family members or friends are in danger. She's constantly keeping an eye out for trouble, and is the first to react when someone is in need. She's also been known to be terribly irritable and lash out for no apparent reason.

Bat: The bat is the voice of love in my mind. She's very much blind in more than just the physical sense. She extends her wing to anyone and everyone who sounds like they could use some love. Friends and family, no matter their faults, are accepted by her. She's got a very loud voice and can usually push through the others when need be. She would get along great with Rafella.

Raven: The raven represents my inner darkness. No matter what, he's always there whispering things into my ear. I can never quite tune him out. When the situation is bad, he constantly reminds me how worse it could be. Not to cheer me up, but because he enjoys thinking of horrible scenarios. Sometimes, I'm quite embarrassed that he's even there at all. Needless to say, he doesn't get along with the bat.

Hummingbird: Ah, the hummingbird... My least favorite of the group. She represents all my anxiety and fear. Just like the raven, the hummingbird is constantly whispering frantically in my ear. Only, I have a harder time ignoring her. She's a huge influence on my actions. None of the others really like to interact with her, so they leave the tiny menace to rule my mind.

I can definately relate to the character Anna since I have like, a million side of me... or really like eight, but you get it. Makes me feel like my head\'s gonna explode.... or implode... less messy.

My personas:

Hawk: Terry (I named them )
Terry is my angry/protective side. He\'s usually doesn\'t speak up much, mostly hangs back, but once he gets fired up all my other personas duck and cover... \'sept for maybe Malo, since he\'s the one who starts things and Zen since he\'s the one to calm me down.

Tortoise: Zen
Zen is my relaxed side that doesn\'t take everything too serious. He\'s usually the one to calm me down with things go wrong or when my brain breaks from all the other personas talking at once, like in the pic where my brain broke from doing three project at onces while recovering from broncitus. He is also the sourse of my advice that I give friends. Very deep thinker

Dog/Chinchilla thing on my head: Pepe
Pepe is my optimistic side. He can always see the bright sides of situations and get me through a bad day. He and Zen are best buds^^

Ghost thingy with ears: Yori
I\'ve never really been a pesimist, so Yori is my pesimistic optimistic side. She really REALLY trys to make things better but usually makes things a whole lot worse. Ex: she\'d say something like, \"It\'s good that your entering this contest... I mean you still don\'t really know proportions, and you\'ve only had your tablet for a couple months, and everyone else is probably better at drawing.... but its still good that your entering.... trying new things...\" She also gets her feelings hurt very easy, something that drives Terry crazy.

Hummingbird: Titter
Titter is a lot like Pepe, but to an extreme. She\'s easily excited and zips around so fast on her little sugar rushes and natural highs, it makes it hard to listen to any of the other personas. Especially Whisper. She also has very mischievious ideas that can\'t possibly go wrong!... Until Rita points out its flaws -_-

Butterfly: Whisper
Whisper has an extemely tiny, soft voice so I have to listen really hard to catch anything she says. She is my guide in a way. She usually lets me know about things that are about to happen and gives extremely good advice that some how makes everything okay, no matter how absurd. I\'d say she\'s my sixth sense, but then that\'d probably sound wierd v-_-

Shadow thing grinning evily: Malo
I really, REEEALLY don\'t like Malo, but no matter what he won\'t go away! He\'s that part of me that says I\'m not good enough, its my fault, I only make things worse, and I\'ll never fit in. Of course this makes Yori cry, which makes Terry mad, and everything goes down hill from there. I wish I could just smash that guy into a wall and he\'d stay smashed. But he won\'t. He\'ll always be back.

Elephant: Rita
Among all this chaos, Rita is my logically side. She is patient, focused and knows exactly how to accomplish a set goal. She\'s not as organized as Anna\'s elephant \'cause she KNOWS that kind of stuff just doens\'t work with me, so she usually has to ask Zen for help to reign me in. (She is pink because of Dumbo. I\'m sorry, I had to )

Sorry for AAAALL those discription, but there\'re LOTS of side of me. Plus its like... my second time ever shadine! Not bad huh? Don\'t worry, I\'ll get better with practice v-_-

Animals;

Rabbit - This is the most common thing I've been told I'm most similar too. I tend to be a quiet, fluffy person, especially around people I don't really know. She is sensitive, and easily pushed around by others. She doesn't like being fake, and has a love/hate relationship with attention, but cares for all her friends.
She is me.(Ego)

Cat - Cats are a mysterious kind, that appear and disappear at their will. I am very mysterious myself, and I'm known to vanish from people's sights (and thoughts) and appear randomly. He's the aloof, 'I'm sooooo much cooler than you' guy in my head, and helps me scare the monsters away. He lets me think; 'OH YEAH! I'M SOOOO B.A.' without getting crazy, and keeps the IDs in check to boot.
He is my confidence.(BIG Ego)

Goldfish - Represents the little voice of reason in my head that warns me about half the stuff I'm thinking about is stupid.
Kinda funny cause goldfish can't be heard through all that glass and water anyway. XD
But on the back hand, this little guy is my idea-generator as well, dropping little hints and plots when I do and don't need them.
Kinda makes him hypocritical, eh?
He is my inspiration and voice of reason. (Ego-superego)

Chameleon - They are a defensive creature that can change how they look to protect themselves. I do this, only with my feelings.
She says when to hide myself from people, and when it's safe to show up on the radar again. This is sometimes a good/bad thing. She holds me back when I want to take a step forward, and tells me to take the safe route. She is the main pessimest of the group.
She is my cautious.(super-ego)

Shark - These creatures aren't as cuddly as rabbits, but can be fairly protective of what's theirs. In a figurative and literal sense, ditto for me.
He gives me outer strength. This part of me is the possessive, "MY STUFF/PERSON!!" territory-monster, the one who likes to get what he wants, when we want. He pushes me to get out there and fight, and too not care for whoever decides to make the foolish decision to get in my way.
He is my cold-jealousy and outer fighter.(ID)

Frog - Hippity hop, hippity hop. We bounce around and run away when frightened. We wear bright colors to warn people away, because my personality is like an addictive poison, if you catch us. But I don't pee in their hand when they stick around to pick me up. Ha.
This is where my excitment, adreneliene rush moments come from. She gives me the creative streak, because she's the only one that can speak fish. Only she takes it overboard without a life-vest.
She is my crazy.(ID)

ANywho, is holding a contest for this cute little comic called "Hot Mess". It's really fun, and its about the typical new girl in high school, but with a creative twist that you'll have to read to find out about.

from left to right:

bee(aka grumbee) he represents the wrathful side of me, always likes to intimidate people, show off, he also supports the envious side where he gets frustrated at people who has things or abilities that I don't have which they use wrongly, is a fighter, the envy can make her do things that helps improve her or could drive her to regret, as we know, bees gets intimidated fast which makes them sting the ones who intimidated them.

jellyfish(aka regrentacles) its somehow similar to the conscience, he shouts out warnings and things that I might regret in the future, he thunders me with guilt, and rubs me in the face with regret if I have done something regretful, the tentacles represents the four reasons why I shouldn't do it, the guilt drives through me like electric shocks which makes me decide to stop what the causes the shocks

dog(aka The Playah) the socialist side of me is a dog, playful, loyal, man's best friend, hyper creature, she's open up to ideas, is really cheerful,funny, faithful, optimistic, outgoing, random, imaginative

hippo(aka blue) the emo side, emotional, creative, the rainbow tears represents the strong emotions creates wonderful things like art,literature, etc, when bored or depressed it eats what ever is available.

Puppy&Kitty (Chocolate&Bo)
They are my psyche (s) that are the obedient ones. They mostly speak to me when I'm around adults or when I'm at other boring places that are high quality. They are quiet (which I need to do more) and are very obedient (i think i already said that XD) They will basically listen to what you say.

Owl (Moon, I know its sorda cheesy >_> )
This psyche is mostly the quiet one. she really just ignores everything, she just wants everything to just go on. If you really try to ask her something, she'll probably ignore you ^^". She will only give me advice when I'm acting over my "cool" is not acting mature.

Tiger (... I just call her... Yinwa)
this psyche is the one that really says, "oh thats nothing!" and thinks that she can do everything. she is strong but is a bit stubborn. she is proud but can go a bit over board. She knows her limits once she notices it. she usually tries to get in fights because she is a bit easy tempered ^^"

Puffball thing (Meme~)
This is my personal psyche that just is a happy-go-lucky one. Yellow and Red aren't her default colors, she changes color from time to time. She usually tries to do things that will make you happy and put her concerns behind other's concerns. She usually is really hyper and tries to stay like that.

Depicted in this picture is an eagle, which represents the brave and optimistic side of me. Life has not exactly been a smooth flight, occasionally I'd run into a few air turbulences. However, I would hold on to my eagle and keep on going.

the one trait that definitely runs through my family is pride, and oh god, it's awful. everyone is always so defensive, always has to have the last word. i'm no exception, haha. pride is truly one the seven deadly sins. remember while i was running up a fever, i almost died from hunger because i wouldn't ask my sister to make something for me. i hate to depend on people, and i could probably have a nicer life by now if i just swallowed my pride once in a while. oh that will be some day, that will.

My competition entry for Category one of 's Hot Mess competition . I tried doing my own interpretation of it, therefore the traditional art instead of Photoshop Unfortunately it didn't come up as well digitally as I'd hoped, I haven't got a professional camera so it kept adding glare, but hopefully it's still enough to get the point through

The animals (psyches) go as follows:
Terra: The red panda - My inquisitive, curious side, the part of me that generally causes me to start taking things apart, generally pieces of technology (oops). It's the side that loves learning and fixing things.
Eldias: The bird - The free spirit, the one that loves music and painting, and can generally be found headbanging to classic rock and metal. As much as I'd love to show this side more, it can be a tad impulsive and inappropriate at times...
Kaera: The Butterfly - The animal which represents fragility and hurt, that gives up at the slightest trials of life and love. Unfortunately a side of every person that can sometimes just take over...
Aradaeus: The tiger - The strong, powerful spirit, the one which comes out when fighting for what I know is right.
Lira: The unicorn - The stubborn, unique side of me, sometimes far too stubborn..

So yeah raccoons. They're mischevious, they mooch, and they kinda do what ever they want. Just like me! Raccoons are often seen as thieves but they're just misunderstood. Raccoons tend to be loners, but that's just fine for us who are highly adaptable and don't stay in one place too long.

Pigs are dirty, fat, and lazy... oh wait, that's me. Although these seem to be negative attributes; my room is unorganized, I snack too much, or sometimes I'm too lazy to even go get food, I find pigs quite expressive. Pigs can be really boring, as they lay there.. all day. They roll in the mud and squeal randomly (& can be annoying). But being as plain as pink, this is who they are. They're not going to change for anyone, they're going to be themselves (being lazy is fun). From the outside, I may look like an ordinary pig, but once you get to know me I'll be... A SUPER PIG.

She's a Hotmess

So this is my entry for the Hotmess Contest from ! It took ages to finish and Im not sure if Im completely satisfied with the end result, but I have my AP coming up so I needed to just be done with this to focus on that!

Also, I know my expression is somewhat on the grr side, but thats only because Scavenger is closest to me in the picture. I decided that the one closest to me thus also has the most influence.

Into the explanations!

The Crow/Scavenger:
Hes the one with the anger and harsh judgments. He gives anyone new a hard time, but all is well meant. He is my main protector, though often the anger he brings to drive harm away can also push away things that are safe and good-natured. Scavenger tends to be more of a quiet one when he sees no need to speak, but when his aggression is activated, he will shout and scratch and try as hard as he can to wound that which he views as the enemy.

The Cat/Seer:
She is always quiet and collected, examining her surroundings with a cool eye. She is prideful, but not to the point of being particularly haughty. She is the intelligent one who also knows how to carry and handle herself when it seems the tides have turned against us. While she tends to work alongside Scavenger a lot, Seer rather dislikes him because his shouting usually wins out over her logical calm.

The Dog/Sleeper:
Hes the gentlest of my animal sides, but also the laziest. Hed like nothing more than to cuddle up with someone and sleep for a few hours. Often he is also the most loving side, easy to trust and accept new faces where Scavenger and Seer might question them. Sleeper always looks to people as new friends. Despite this, Scavengers questioning often leads Sleeper to shy away (and me in response). However, he also then is the one to symbolize sadness. Being the most gentle, he is also the most vulnerable.

The Bunny/Sniffer:
This girl is the fun-seeking, hyperactive, and curious side of me. Shes called Sniffer not just because of her fascination with new smells and tastes, but she also tries to sniff out the fun crowd and the best time. Shes constantly hyperactive, but that can backfire and cause people to become annoyed. She is quick to cast off the opinions of the other three and is the most likely to jump into the face of someone new and scream HI!

so it goes like this:
The Parrot: "whaaaa?!" my stupid self-the times when i don't think, act dumb or just don't understand what is going on

The Snake: "let's paaaaarty " my "crazy" side, when its all "I'm bored lets go dancing and drinking!" and when i think biting is fun.

The Mouse: "wiiiiii ^_^" my funny side, i have my moments when i say or do funny or just stupid things, usually very childish.

I worked 5 evenings on this or something. ^^

I chosed the cat because she represents the greatest part of my psyche.
Often lazy, but sometimes active and playful.
Prying, but also disinterested.
Mostly Im a loner, but there are times, I want to cuddle someone.
Sometimes I can get very aggressive.
But the cat is the voice which says : It doesnt matter. I dont care. Its all the same to me.

My mood changes extremly often. There are many other voices in my head, but the cat is the loudest voice, which always controlls my behaviour.

I originally meant to do more with the coloring but I didn't want to risk missing the deadline, so here it is in its flatly-colored glory! Drawn in pencil originally, inked with a pen, then re-inked and colored in Photoshop CS.

These are the different parts of my psyche embodied as animals, and each animal has a very close tie to me emotionally.

Pipsqueak is my id, to keep it general. Basically, she's my survival instincts and demands what I want, when I want it, and to have what I want NOW. She's also rather loud and crazy. Pipsqueak is based off of my guinea pig, Cupcake, who loves to eat and chew on anything that comes within an inch of her face, clothes included.
Howard is my inner grumpy old man. If something doesn't go the way I want it to go, or if I wake up and just don't feel very...joyful, Howard takes control and makes me a crabby mess. Thankfully, since I'm a rather happy individual, he doesn't have to work too often. He's based off of a red-shouldered hawk that visits our yard and protects the birds who visit our bird feeders from the "bad" hawks that my mom and I named Howard.
Maggie is my happy-go-lucky, true-to-the-end side of my psyche. She controls my eternal optimism, actually. She's the reason why if you tell me a secret and tell me not to share it with anyone else, I won't do so; the reason why unless you stab me in the back, I will always be there for you. In the real world, Maggie is my family's Airedale Terrier who we've had for almost 9 years now and still acts like a goofy puppy.
Edgar isn't my depressed side, despite how he looks. He's actually my stressed part of my psyche. The reason why I freak out about exams, tests, anything involving my AP US History class? Edgar. He hates my tendency to procrastinate on studying and, well, anything that could screw me over in school. He's trying to get me to work on that, though.
Finally, we have Samson, who is my intelligent and rational side of my psyche. He makes sure I think things through before I make any rash decisions. He's the reason why I'm not flunking out of school right now. Edgar and Samson work as a team sometimes to make sure I get things done and reduce Edgar's burden of stress on me. (They also both spawned out of my love for the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. That books series has inspired me and helped me to grow in my life.)

My Own Hot Mess

My first ever art contest on DA - which was really fun to do.

I used:

The bird I drew is a Anatum Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus anatum) [link] which is probably one of the most awesome animals on the planet! It is supposed to represent my strong, confident, adventurous side. The part of me that love to let loose and have fun - climbing a tree or running around in the rain
I am generally a friendly person, who loves to act immature on a regular basis and I tried to present this as a falcon. I would also LOVE to fly which just makes me like falcons so much more !

The other creature is based on a Loris/lemur ([link]) which is the polar opposite of the falcon. It harbors all my insecurities and fears that lurk at the back of my mind. All the thoughts I have had about death and dying, as well as my fears of public speaking and spiders. Also represents my shy side, that part of me that just wants to stay home and hide under the blankets

yup yup actually got to work on something i enjoyed and i end up getting it done waaaay sooner than i thought. I ended up getting more attached to these animals than i thought lol, so much so that i named them OTL

For 's contest concerning the totally boss webcomic Hot Mess GO READ IT.

Onto the long stuff:

Bubastis:
The kitty cat on my shoulder, closest to my mind she represents all those smart, witty, or even blunt things i say to people. Thanks to her i'm pretty good at jeopardy!

Carrie:
Yes Carrie is named after the Stephen King character~ I tend to get pretty mad pretty easily, Carrie is the reason for that. An angry little tasmanian devil that feeds off of my rage, she's seeing red all the time.

Ramone:
Orange bats? What is this? Ramone is my goofy side, i like to be as strange and weird as possible, and a tad loud. What better to represent that than an animal that screams and looks pretty weird? Especially when i can color him to look even MORE weird! He also might be the reason for my poor eyesight...

Phoebe:
Yes, a flying pig that farts rainbows. My creative side that's a bit overbearing sometimes. She makes it hard to do anything BUT draw.

Loyd:
A dead bunny! He represents all those innocent thoughts that i used to have as a kid! I'm a kid at heart so i guess...i guess i kept him around...

Marci:
The nice clean little chinchilla, Marci would love to do her job of being my voice of prudence. The other parts of my mind tend to overlook her and even suppress her sometimes ~~most of the time~~

This here is a contest entry held by the contest is influenced by the web comic www.HotMessComic.com . the web comic is about this girl going through high school and dealing with those even with the help of animals that represent her Psyche, ( its quite nice you should go see it.)SO part of the contest is to show the viewer parts of our own psyche.

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT

Chimera: the chimera is a unnatural creature that was combine of three different creatures, and caused much destruction. So In the confines of my head the chimera is my hatred. ranging from the pesky moment of frustrations to the boiling tempered of fights. all the hate makes it be what it is. now Im not the hot headed type so the voice of the chimera just trys to have me snap at some one at best.

Kitsune: The kistune is a fox that through power or a long lived life gains tails to show of that age/power. They are often shown has delightful shape shifting creatures of mischievous. so through its plays and veriest form it comes to be my imagination and creativity. often teaming up with another part of my mind to get an idea stuck in my head.

Faun: the classic goat/man creature the most every one knows. creature of pure joy and pleasure and as such that his what he is. The down side to that his is doesnt think of the consequences of what joys he wants me to take. such as playing games while i should do home work or choice is a good example.

Then their is me.......well that me...yeah!!

ohhh and one more thing but isnt a creature or a main part of the Psyche. That is the night time sky. It more like a state of mind that i feel most comfortable and at ease in.

Hot Mess Contest entry
I would have given what they are actually saying in bubbles but I love drawing expression and seeing what anyone else can come up with with what's going on.

The bird thing is my carefree and creative nature hence why it doesn't have a distinct shape. He also likes to escape on the occasion so that's why I don't have anything consist going on artistically.

The squirrel is my multimanger attempting to keep things organized. He's also small and blurry do to he tends to take tasks to fast and is of distracted by the To-Do list.

The fox is my annoyed/evil side he crops up on the occasion. Most often eggs on Lion.

The Dog is my silly goofy side always wanting to play and up for a good time. The Lion is most often attempting to shut him up because he may put me in danger with silly antics.

The lion is prehaps the biggest part of me as it is my self preservation and protective part. Whether it protects me or my loved ones. He often will override the others and take direct control hence why he is sort of just floating there.

Don't care if I win or not I just had alot of fun drawing and trying new styles!

Hi everybody !

Here is my entry for the 1st CATEGORY on the Hot Mess Contest by
I had to draw myself with animals which represent my personality !
I named my work "Imagine Yourself", because we don't birth with a personnality, we build it during our life ! And, as an artist, I decide to show me PAINTING my personality represented by animals.
(it's the first time that I draw myself so realistic, lol, I have the same shooes, jean, hair and silver bracelet)

THE BEAR :
For the "hibernation part", lol. Because I'm a lazy guy, and I can sleep more than 12h a day during the holidays !

THE DOVE :
First at all, I wanted to draw a simple bird, because I'm a dreamer, who want to fly over the clouds. I have a lot of imagination.
But, I decided to show with this bird an other part of myself, the peaceful and passive behavior ! I've never fight with someone else, and I hate violence ! So I take the Dove, because the Dove is a symbol of the peace.

THE GRASSHOPPER :
This one is really a personal creature. I'm a sort of superactive man. I don't stay to do nothing ! So, my Mum call me "the grasshopper" since I'm a child !
I jump and goes everywhere.

THE WOLF :
Because the wolf is a lonely animals. He likes to be alone sometimes, like me. We always saw howling wolf ALONE ! But that's not why he don't enjoy the others' company ! He lives whith other wolves, and can't live without them !
That's a part of me. I don't espace the other. I like be alone, but I always need and I couldn't live without friends and family.

BONUS : I wanted to draw, and if I have time I'll try to add => A TURTLE or an animal who can hide him into a carapce, to show my shyness.

Voici ma participation pour la CATEGORIE n°1 du concours de
Il fallait se dessiner (première fois que je me dessine en vrai, avec mes vrais habits, accessoires, chaussures, et cheveux plus ou moins) avec des animaux qui représentent ma personnalité !
J'ai appelé ce travail "Imagine Yourself" (Imagine toi, en traduction mot par mot) car on ne nait pas avec une personnalité, mais on en créé une en grandissant ! Et pour mon côté artistique, je me suis montré en train de la créer en la peignant !

Vous pouvez donc voir :

L'OURS : Pour le côté "hibernation", lol. Car je suis un grand fainéant, et je peux facilement dormir 12h (ou plus) pendant certaines nuits, en vacances par exemple.

LA COLOMBE : Au début, je voulais faire juste un oiseau, qui représenterait mon esprit rêveur et mon envie de pouvoir voler et imaginer beaucoup de chose !
Mais j'ai combiné ce concept avec la Colombe, car c'est un symbole de paix, et je suis quelqu'un de très passif et non violent. Je ne me suis encore jamais battu à ce jour, et je refuse la violence contre quiconque (sauf sur les racailles qui agressent en groupe comme des lâches, huhu).

LA SAUTERELLE : Bon, cette bestiole est plus personnelle là. En fait, je suis plutôt super-actif. Je ne peux m'empêcher de bouger, de faire sauter en l'air des objets etc, je ne peux rester en place sans rien faire !! (d'où que je dessine tout le temps en cours)
En fait, depuis mon enfance, ma mère m'appelle donc "la Sauterelle".

LE LOUP :
Animal à tendance solitaire. Il aime être seul. Par exemple, on vois toujours le loup hurlant à la mort seul. Rarement avec d'autres. Mais le loup ne fuis pas les autres loups, il vis avec eux, et sans eux, il ne pourrait pas survivre.
Je trouve que ça me correspond bien. J'aime être seul des fois... Mais je ne fuis pas les autres, et sans amis et famille, je pense que ma vie serait bien dure à vivre.

PS : Je ne pense pas ajouter la tortue (représentation de la timidité, car elle se cache dans sa carapace quand elle voit des inconnus). Car ma signature prend parfaitement la bonne place, mdr. Mais si je la fais, elle devrait être au niveau du pied, et avec un effet de comme si elle sortait la tête de l'eau.

This is my entry for SilentReaper's contest, category 1.

The koala is because I love sleeping, and I'm really lazy, must part of my decisions are based on how lazy I'm feeling at the moment. I always listen to this side of me, even if it hurts me.
The carpenter bird* is because there is a side of me that is always telling me what should I do, and always annoys me, 'cause it keeps saying 'you've got to study, do your homework..' until I do it. It's really persistent, but my 'koala side' always wins xD

I used Photoshop CS3, and it took me like.. 4 hours ? I'm not sure :/

Many Sides of Me

This is my entry to the Hot Mess Art Contest by SilentReaper. [link]

The fox represents my playful side, she loves to go on adventures, can be a bit silly sometimes and loves to dance. She is the one who is telling me to try new things and to assert myself when I'm not voicing my opinion.

The turtle is my shy side, he is doubtful of people's intentions and always cautions me. He is easily hurt sometimes and tends to hold a grudge. He never forgets when someone has hurt him. He likes to take things slowly.

The owl is my thirst for knowledge and books in general. She loves to read, although text books aren't her favorite. She represents my desire to learn more everyday in everything I do. She pushes me to do better in my classes and looks forward to becoming a professional someday.

I drew myself and my animals in pencil then scanned them into photoshop CS3, where I did all of the coloring. This was my first time using photoshop so I'm pretty excited it came out so well.

I wanted to finish this damn piece of art for so long now, began in March and was just yesterday able to finally finish it finally.

Since I have to write a few lines about every animal fluttering around me, I'll now begin...

The Toucan is the energetic, happy but sometimes also reckless side of me and called Tookie. He's the one giving me trouble concentrating on one thing. But he's also the one partying and enjoying life. He's making me able to flirt with boys. But oftentimes he's also my prankish side, so sometimes I get in trouble because of him.

The bat is called Priscilla and waits for Tookie to shut up for a minute to then suddenly attack me with sadness. Luckily, Tookie is often much louder than she is. In the night though, it can happen that she hangs over my bed and is depressingly good an reasonable to listen to.

That owl staring back is Ben, making me uneasy when I'm about to do something stupid or inefficient. He's letting me do homework or concentrate, but he only gets me to work when it's already getting late, making me do all-nighters to finish it.
When I have realy bad luck, he gets me all perfectionistic and I won't be content with my work at all.
Ben is a perfectionist, who won't let me go to bed until I did everything I have to.

That butterfly on my arm isn't a random bug, it's Bonny. Bonny is my slowly growing self-confidence. It took some time for her to change from being a caterpillar. But for a while now I've seen her growing, encouraged by Tookie, who chased Priscilla away from the fragile cocoon.

That castle in the background is one that's in my hometown and it's my favourite place to be. (Not inside, but on the greenery surrounding it.)
I don't know why the sky got so purple-ish, it wasn't planned but I decided it doesn't look so bad, So I let it be.

An entry for this contest, held by *SilentReaper, based on the webcomic "Hot Mess".

The idea is to do up myself and show parts of the psyche as physical, animal manifestations that are only visible to the individual in question. So far, I've got my Id, that adorable little dog. The Id is primal, instinctual and seeks instant gratification. What personifies that better than a puppy? Id, the puppy, is hyperactive, and has a short attention span. He enjoys treats and any kind of attention.

I'm open to suggestions to other parts. I couldn't really come up with anything totally awesome, so there's just the one right now.

Okay, well, this is my contest entry for 's Hot Mess contest, which you can read about here: [link]
I'm participating in "category one" if it isn't obvious.

So, this is me collecting carts on a nasty day. For those who don't know about me, I work at a grocery store called Foodfix as a bagger, and every other half hour I have to collect the carts on the lot. This is where my nutty little Psyches come in.

Psyche number 1: Worrywart. As his name goes, Worrywart is a frog-like creature who sits at the back of my head worrying, panicking, and worrying some more. In this case, he thinks WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE and the storm hasn't even come yet. It's usually a good idea NOT to listen to him when you need to stay calm.

Psyche number 2: Quiet Sense. She's a dragon-snake-like creature who softly whispers good advice in my ear. She's usually right, and acts mostly on what's best for me. Some would call her that "little voice of common sense." But I generally don't listen to her because she's so quiet. I need to pay more attention to her. Her feelings get hurt very easily.

Psyche number 3: Grumpy Mug. He's the bulldog-looking thing in the cart, lazily eager to get things done. He doesn't like it when I put things off for later or waste time doing nothing (as he himself seems to do quite often). He's my anti-procrastination friend, who looks more at what needs to be done than what's better for me physically or mentally. He and Quiet Sense argue a lot. He usually wins, because he's VERY insistant.

So, those are my Psyches. Hope I'm not COMPLETELY lame. My personal favourite is Worrywart. Isn't he so cute?

This draw was all made in Corel X3.
I choose to the cat, 'cuse represent the half of my personalityemonstrates my independence, mystery, intelligence, wisdom, solitude, the caution with any situation, but above all, easy to wrap in a dark hambientes.
That is my principal reason to choose and put in this draw the image of the black cat. It is my other half soul.

I have drafted the storyboard by hand, scanned it with a HP Photosmart 2575, and made the cleanup, text, colour, shadows and backgrounds in Gimp.

Snake Light

Done up in Adobe Photoshop for 's "Hot Mess" contest. In it, one is supposed to draw an animal representation of an aspect of one's psyche. So I drew my obsessive compulsive tendencies.

Since I was about seven, I've been compulsive. Mostly it revolves around counting and hand washing. At times, I'd be washing my hands so often that my skin would dry, crack, and bleed. But it's been useful, too. About two years ago I loaded most of my obsessions into schoolwork and becoming a more skilled artist. I encourage you to look at the stuff I was doing two years ago (check scraps) as compared to now; you'll notice a vast improvement. That's a direct result of my obsessing.

When working in tandem, this part of me can be a guiding light, the ink in my pen. But it can also bind and choke. Hence a FIRE CONSTRICTOR!

Now, did that sound angsty-artist enough? If not, read again while playing Green Day.

Psychological Zoomorphisms

For *SilentReaper's Hot Mess contest, Category 1, using a sketch on paper and then colouring in on Gimp using a bamboo fun tablet.

This is:
Me -Zilly/Eireni: my hair is actually brown. My nose is red and shiny like that, though.
The cat - Augusta: laziness, sleepiness and want for warmth. Falls asleep in sun. As do I. Strangely enough, even if I don't feel tired, I still have shadows under my eyes, so I still always look exhausted. I can be very lazy, and the fact that I used to live in Greece makes me always want more warmth (I currently live in England =S).
The elephant - Oscar: over-protectiveness towards friends, loyalty and (often excessive) empathy. I will always do as much as I can for my friends, and only ever keep grudges against people who upset my friends. Empathy comes in here, but also in that I can't stand horror movies as I feel like I'm in the movie, and I cry easily at sad bits.
The owl - Emeline: Arrogance and ambition. Almost always in argument with Oscar over whether the self or others are more important; usually won't win without lots of support from the doodlemonster or Kirsty. I used to distance myself from everyone, thinking that if they couldn't accept me that was their own loss; now that part of me only comes out to silently criticise other peoples' work, but I ignore it most of the time.
The porcupine - Kirsty: a bit like HotMess's "slumper": depression incarnate. Except that she never says much, she just curls up into a little ball and hopes no-one comes near. Maybe she doesn't hope that, actually, but that's what she tells us. And it's what happens anyway. No-one tends to know when I'm unhappy; unless a movie's made me cry, my own personal upsets don't show in front of anyone, ever.
the doodlemonster of rage -doesn't have a name, doesn't want one: I used to get into huge rages, but like the doodlemonster, I don't look the slightest bit threatening. Just silly. And extra-loud. (I'm usually very loud anyway, and it just amplifies it).
the moth - Clementine: the one with an idea of self-image. She likes to play-pretend butterfly sometimes. Most of the time she's pretty content with just about anything. I'm usually pretty content with my self-image, but I can occasionally go crazy with the colour-co-ordination.
The Jellyfish Artemis: calm, creative, the one in her own little world. Tends to be a little overshadowed when with company. Because of this, hardly anyone knows this "Zen" side of me, except in orchestra when I get excited playing a piece. (I play violin and viola).
The Electrons - Quentin and Sam: like in quantum, you can't tell where they'll be or at what speed they'll be going; however, you can easily find the probability of arriving. Which is usually quite high. I'm known as the crazy hyper one who come out with the weirdest observations or quotes. That's why I run Anime Club at school.

Other Half

For 's Hot Mess Contest: the theme was to draw yourself and at least one other animal that represented a part of your pysche. So, I drew my island-fox dæmon, Kunophron (which means "soul"). He's my more reasonable, confident, helpful, and mature side. Because he's so self-confident (or at least tries to convince me to be ), he has a wicked, unabashed sense of sarcasm. He's a realist and a cynic, but he always knows what needs to get done. He's blunt but loving, practical but optimistic. He keeps me grounded when I'm off in LaLa-Teenage-Girl-Artist-Land. I, on the other hand, am loyal, sneaky, sarcastic, dark, day-dreamy, artsy, innocent, and kind: hence, island fox.

So... first of all this for 's contest, for [link] Which is a great comic, and the contest has been fun. ^^

To understand the two parts of me I chose to personify (or is it animalify?) it's probably best to understand that I've been sick since 2009, and on disability since December. Doctors visits usually take up most of my week, and doctors visits are mingled with hope and despair, so these two parts of me are the ones I'm closest to right now.

The pheonix is named Nadia. I chose a pheonix to represent hope for several reasons... A pheonix is firey. and hope warms your heart and mind. Pheonix are said to be eternal, being reborn of it's own ashes; hope is the same way, even though sometimes it feels like it goes away, it comes back, sometimes stronger than when it "left." Pheonix are also (per wikipedia) the opposite to the Asian dragon in Chinese mythology.

The Asian dragon is named Jiki. Asian dragons are more water based than their European counterparts, and when I'm sad enough that I would call the emotion despair, it feels like trying to swim in a big, cold ocean. Their long bodies sometimes remind me of snakes, and anxiety (something I would say is part of despair) often feels like a tightening of the chest, something like what a semi friendly boa might feel like (a non-friendly boa feeling like suffocating death).
The two emotions are counterparts, like yin and yang you can't have one without the other. The pheonix and dragon (again, according to wikipedia) represent yin and yang. their often seen together on currancy. The fire and water aspects seemed perfect for how those two emotions feel to me.
I really hope that didn't sound depressing. oh! I know Nadia means hope in some language. I think Jiki means saddness or despair in another one, but I'm not sure. ^^

Artwise~ I know perspective is off. It was worse a bit ago... and I feel like I need to move on to other projects... I haven't been able to draw in a long time and I feel the need to draw a lot of things.
The picture in the back is a photo I took... I think it's actually in my gallery somewhere. I painted over it to make it fit the scene better.

this took me over the span of about a week... a little less. Nadia's feathers took the longest.

This would be my contest 1 entry, hope (if you don't like it) that you don't hate it.

Starting on the right you have;

Pounce, the cat. Not very playful or cheerful Pounce is mean. And vindictive. And violent. Pounce is the bit that doesn't mind (care) about hurting other things, especially if you touch anything 'that is mine!'

White, the rabbit. White is my cowardice, often hijacking my instincts so that I hide behind others. White is what influences me to ask for hugs not to take them, or bend to other wills to avoid conflict. Pounce takes great delight when torchering White.

Gram, the fox. Gram is in one word, motherly. He would complain about being called that. Gram is what insists I help others, putting myself on a back burner until I scorch from lack of attention. Gram has a since of caring that carries everything with him. In combination with just Sem I would destroy myself.

Fam, the dragon. Fam is my coping mechanism, he talks rarely and mostly reads. Instead of following reality Fam always looks like he is reading. Mostly Fam is listening to what's happening around him. Through books he learned how people think so Fam is who speaks when I'm asked 'What should I do?'.

Sem, the lion. Sem is my since of duty. If I make a promise Sem makes me keep it. If given no limits Sem will try to do everything by himself, feeling obligated to help. This is what makes me go out of my way to give my own belongings to others. pounce and Sem working together would be scary so its good they don't get on well.

and last Grim, the raven. Grim is what all my pain has condensed into. She is what has been left from all the people who came by and said 'Who you are is wrong'. She is strong in her own write but most of that strength comes from her fear of being less than what others expect, weather that's a punching bag or a cheerful person. Grin has little trouble smiling and say she 'Will be fine' never lying that she isn't fine now.

Together they overlap to become me. wish me luck because, like Anna, they make my life a Hot Mess. this was made with Tombow markers, Crayola markers, Sakura line markers, a pencil (which got erased), and an eraser. Oh, and some paper.

Let's see... I made this in Photoshop 7, with a Wacom Bamboo fun tablet (which I only got about 2 weeks ago so that's why this picture kind of sucks T_T).

The reason that this picture is underwater is because I'm in my "sea of thoughts" Sorry for the unoriginal metaphore >_>''

The grey rabbit on the right represents my somewhat paranoid side; this nasty creature is the one that makes me go berserk for no reason at all (btw I didn't have any problem designing him at all, though I hardly ever "listen" to him xD)

The fox at the bottom represents my joyful side (I swear, I wasn't thinking of StupidFox when I made him! ;A; )
I pretty much always listen to him ^_^

Then the last one, the cloud-bunny at the top... He somewhat represents my neutral side, the one that doesn't care about what's going on and that just goes with the flow~ ... on a cloud.

To be honest, I don't really care about winning, this was just to practice drawing animals xD (oh SO detailed animals...)
