Seriously, I am so excited *A* So I'm dropping my backlog to upload some photos from our Walking Dead shoot at OzHorrorCon for now!!
I've been a super big fan of this TV series after *Emorenji and other friends introduced it to me, I don't think I've screamed/cried so much watching a TV series, so being able to finally cosplay as my favorite character from it, and with the most perfect people ever, was seriously the most amazing day~

Putting together the sheriff costume for Rick was simultaneously the most fun and frustrating experience. To be clear, the only thing I personally made in the whole costume was the gun holster (not visible in this pic), coz I couldn't find a correct one in time T______T Everything else, I was super anal about finding a exact replica of. I even managed to purchase the shirt, pants, belt, accessories and hat cord etc from where AMC gets the costume for the show itself! *w* (I know so much about police gear now, it's terrifying 8'D)
I really enjoyed spending hours and hours just researching on every particular piece for this whole outfit. And then trying to find the cheapest replica online. It was like one giant internet shopping challenge lololol X'DD

Bow Tutorial

Alrighty guys, this is still the same tutorial it always was (for those of you who had this faved, or those of you who have happened to look at this before) I just reorganised it so it is a little easier to follow (as well as adding a tiny bit more information about making more complicated bows down at the bottom there)

This is the method I use to make bows. The finished product looks like this and

I came up with this method, though it is pretty straightforward, so I am sure I'm not the only one who has figured out bows this way.
I wrote out this entire tutorial myself, including making all those little drawings. So if you wish to repost this somewhere please ask me first.

Tutorial: Fixing Ponytail wig

Hopefully you guys can follow this. This is the easiest way I've found to return any straight ponytail wig to its frizz free glory.

Any Miku or Linalee cosplayer knows how bad these wigs can get the moment you put it on, let alone halfway into a con. With the above methods though my wigs look brand new every-time I use them.

Added benefits is the product left in the wigs from this process makes them slightly less likely to frizz.

EDIT: The little pink bottle of wig spray is from [link] Ive found it makes wigs AMAZING to brush through and doesn't smell or get all over the place, plus better for travel!

If you need some and you dont have time to order any, mix up some fabric softener and water in a bottle and spray that on!

At last, the long awaited Gradient Dyeing Tutorial! I'm sorry it took so long to make, but here you go!

I've had a lot of practice with this method, and this is the formula that works best for me, so I hope it can help you dye your fabric with ease. Fabric dyeing is actually one of my favorite parts about costuming, so please don't hesitate to ask questions if you have any - I'll be glad to answer them!

So my first costume for 2012, a USO Girl from Captain America which I made and wore to the Sydney Avengers movie screening on April 25th. I'm sorry I've been so quiet over here, I don't do all too much costuming anymore and my first convention for the year isn't until mid-June (Sydnova), in which I'll be rewearing this costume (marvel one day, DC the next).

In making this costume a huge thank you goes firstly to the worldwide USO Girls Costuming Group for all the help and for letting me join their ranks, to my mother who helped to pin-curl my hair the night before I wore this costume, and lastly to *strawdoll for being such a lovely photographer and for doing this shoot with me.

Unfortunately based on a true story. When that crack haunting started to appear on the walls, I spent all my time going back and forth attempting to place down the stupid Holy Candle ("I can't put it here" there's a table right in front of you fffff). Eventually I just ran up and mashed the X button until I ended up dying in my own apartment.

Apparently you're supposed to use Saint Medallions and just stand around until they go away. Gee, that would of been nice to know before I pathetically died while waving my candle around like a jackass.

ffff stupid Henry and his hard to draw hair and tan skin that kept coming out too orange and his dull, gray apartment that was annoying to pick colors for _{he's lucky he's incredibly fucking cute >:C}

With the conversation of doing a Doctor Who cosplay at the upcoming convention, all of my friends pointed and said "you are going Captain Jack Harkness"...so i was like "ok!". At the time i didn't realise the awesomeness of his character in the Dr Who series....but greatfully....i do now (marathon series watching!)

This is my costume i wore during Swancon 2008. It was a modified original US Airforce Jacket from around the WWII era, took me 5 hours to make it fit me.

I must say the best thing about being Captain Jack, i was able to be 'nice & friendly', or as the Doctor would say 'flirty' with everyone & everything! The whole weekend, it was very common to hear me say
"Hi, i'm Captain Jack Harkness...and you are?" ...with my oh so delicious Doctor (Aly) replying from accross the room "Stop that...!!!!"

Finally uploading this costume since school is now on break,no more folios 8D now exams *shoots*

I wore this costume for Manifest 2011, it was quite a pain to make it especially with my lack of experience but more a pain to wear it. I did not bend my knees for 9+ hours D: It was a very rushed job in the end as I cannot help to procrastinate and I delayed due to lack of materials, damn you fur for only arriving the day before.

It was an experience in itself to make, I learned a lot of new skills in the process; like making armor, three weeks prior to Manifest I had not a single clue. Despite a bit of stress and no sleep across the last 2-3 nights it was very worth it. Many people who I see as inspirations commented on it which really made me feel accomplished.

I would really like to thank a few people for all the help and support.

Thank you so much again for lending my your Sugata wig when mine didn't arrive on time, it wouldn't of been completed with out your help.

I thank you for support, advice and for choosing the fabulously gay fabrics and an even bigger thank you for throwing me your sewing machine when mine broke the night before.

The biggest thank you goes to a good friend of mine, without her it wouldn't be finished, thank you for giving up your sleep for me and your con day as you had to feed me and scratch my face all day (could not raise arms up orz). It means alot.

Extract the file to your desktop using Winrar (its free). Go into the folder and click the "Shimeji.exe" file. Thats it! 8D

A little TARDIS icon should appear in the little... bar thingy at the bottom of your computer. If you right click it, a menu pops up. It'll be in little squares/japanese (sadly XD)
Heres what each option does:
1. add another Doctor
2. Call Doctor over to your mouse
3. Delete all Doctors but one (He will... replicate himself XD)
4. Return any browsers screens he took
5. Exit the program

I used 's Sherlock as a base: [link]§ion=&q=shimeji#/d2zpuq3 (It's way cuter and more awesome than mine, go look XD)

Anyone is free to edit this or use as a base. I sorta rushed through the final frames so it's not the greatest. Haha

Given that this is the photo that got Mon and I into this year's Animania Calendar Competition...I figured I should *probably* put it up online! XD;

I've always loved the Sandplay designs, and how elegant they are...and then came along Gumi, who looked like a lost salsa dancer that collided with the bird-cast of Rio. I wanted to make it when I saw it, but these things don't always happen just because you want them to. HOWEVER, when I was cleaning out all my fabric and trims, I found that I had nearly everything to make this outfit. Lucky!

With that in mind, I didn't end up spending very much on this costume at all, which makes me sooo happy. It was really enjoyable to create, and the kind of outfit that I like working on. =3

The shoot that we had with this was also wonderful! I love shooting with Mon, and Biccy was such a wonder to come along and help on such short notice. The staff at the Hilton were so wonderful and accomodating, and I think everything really went together well! 8D

Another image from our recent studio shoot for our Disney character cosplays. The first I had posted was Miguel ~merkymerx as Captain Jack Sparrow:

I wanted to continue with the movie poster look for the photos, but for our Mulan group _{(which was temporarily incomplete on the day of this first shoot)} it of course had to have a different atmosphere from the PotC set.

I took inspiration from Chinese epic movie posters. Oh, you know those ones. Intense lighting all around, bunch of characters looking in different directions, dramatic clouds, texturized movie title with bevel and embossed effect, etc. I kept laughing to myself as I was putting this poster together. Ah, the glorious cheesiness! _{Look at that Shan Yu, chilling in the clouds Mufasa-style}

_{Disjointed little musings:}
Mulan is my favorite Disney character, and I can identify with her on a level that most people might not expect. It's always a ton of fun dressing up as Mulan (as Ping)! I am extremely happy that my friends and I were able to do this cosplay together. _{Some of our groupmates like Tien Po and Yao aren't in this photo, but we'll have other shoots with them in the future.} It was just cool how we all found a character from the main cast that we wanted to cosplay.

I think we've had the most fun cosplaying as a Disney group. During the con we attended, there was a lot of moments of randomly bursting into song throughout the day and it made us extremely happy that people who heard us would join in and sing along!

_{I'll probably add more walls of text here after I've managed to get a bit of sleep. I am feeling about as articulate as this muesli bar I am eating.}

So if my memory's correct, I've done 9 Vocaloid shoots in the last nine months (7 of those being Miku) and this is the first of them reaching my devART! Ridiculous! D8 But I'm very glad to put this up as my first Miku-shot, because this group means a lot to me. It's made up of some of my best friends - all of who I knew before cosplay. ILY!

Our costumes are based off of this fan art and were both made and bought in bits and pieces with Miki and Gumi coming up with matching outfits to fill out our all-girl-power group!

We wore them to the Friday of Manifest, thinking it'd be easy and comfortable...I think we were a bit wrong when the cold wind showed up. D8 Much thanks and love to Eli and Neil for helping us get some quick shots during the day! I can't wait to shoot this properly - we'll have to find a longer park bench! XD

So....K suggested doing a Drrrr! cosplay randomness whilst she was still here...so I basically did a marathon of Drrrr!!! Anime and instantly fell in luv with the show but now I really want to read the manga.

Had much fun on the shoot running around litterally >>> this involves a large carpark shopping trolleys and being told off for using a goverment building not knowing we were in one OTL ~_~ (There is a chase scene vid that K will put up at some point on youtube)

We climbed into ~JKale's neighbour's house construction yard to shoot this set..hurhuhuhuhurr...Twas fun! Even if I did constantly get electrocuted by hanging wires.. 8DDD

The lighting inside was so beautiful, I tried to capture it best as I could though I don't have much in the way of equipment.

I made *K-chan009 and *zimiel work so hard during this shoot I feel so bad!! ;A;
Though they look so stunning and the emotion generated by them was so INTENSE it made ~JKale and I fangirl to the extreme!!! FAY AND KUROGANE IN THE FLESH MAN!!! Plz help us convince them to cosplay this forever and ever amen.

I can't believe it has taken me soooo long to upload a picture of this costume >__<
This version of Suzaku is from the anime so it's different to the Mutuality artbook version. I have to say that I don't even have a preference of the versions ~~but I do like the stocking arms XD~~
I completed this for Main Animania last year and entered with a way too fabulous group who all took out the Best Group Category on the Sunday (I love you guys)

I don't really remember how long it look to put together... approx 2 months I guess?
I'm particularly proud of the fabric choices I made, and can't thank Straw enough for making the red jewels for me >3<

SNAKE <3

First of all I can’t even think of where to start in order to describe just how awesome and incredibly fun this shoot was *_*
First of all a huuuuuuge thank you to ~christilite for arranged things so we could not only do this photoshoot in a real life circus, but also so we could use the tight ropes, horses and everything else we were for some reason or another allowed to do.
A epic thank you to *cescat, *K-chan009 and *ClamWings for allowing me to join in on your circus family.
And ofcourse a huge thank you to all the photographers and general helpers *Risachantag *AmenoKitarou *Tsubaki-chan ~christilite ~rallamajoop ~saelle
This is defiantly one of my most memorable cosplay experiences, the atmosphere and all the people involved made this shoot amazing in so many ways.

Argh thinking of a title and a introduction for this picture was a pain.
And for those who don’t know, Emily is one of Snakes snakes, named after the poet Emily Dickinson.

It was so great finally cosplaying as Snake after meaning to do so for so long <3

To be honest, when I was sitting in that thing I was kinda worried it would start moving, luckily that didn’t happen.

~Amazing Photographers and Shoot helpers~

My wonderful friend ~christilite has worked at the Circus Joseph Ashton in Western Australia since she was a teenager and as soon as we read the Circus Arc in Kuro months ago, we were all planning to do a shoot in her epic and amazing workplace!! We had permission from Joseph Ashton himself who has worked on Moulin Rouge!! *swoons* and because we were friends with the circus peeps, we all got to play with the props!! We had much fun on the tightrope, trapeze ladders, the animals and even got to ride horses and on the Circus carriage! It's definitely one of the most fun shoots I've ever done!
Even though we were all sick and tired during the Wai-con crazy weekend back in January..we all forced ourselves to do this..I'm glad though!

Thank you thank you everyone for coming along, helping out and making this day such a wonderful success! This would not have been possible without you!! Much love!!

Yay! Finally photos from the Halloween shoot to show you all! I absolutely adore American McGees' Alice. One of my favourite games of all time. Such a twisted, fucked up version of the original fairytale. What I love most is how they didn't goth up the game, but interpretted Alices' story as insanity and warped Wonderland into something both beautiful and terrifyingly macabre.

I get shivers just thinking about it!

I made this costume so unbelievably quickly, between studying for my HSC exams. Surprisingly, I'm really happy with how it came out. I only had one major problem with construction and that was with the hem. Note to self, never ever try to hem a circle skirt the normal way because you're lazy, it will pucker like hell.

Because of this I added a totally innacurate but super cute ruffle to the bottom of my dress. I love the blue under dress made from delustered satin so much that it has found its' way into my regular wardrobe to be worn in day to day life.

The blood I purchased at a theatrical make up seller about ten minutes walk from my house... And it doesn't dry. This is great for plays where the blood has to stay looking real, but it meant that I got blood on things if I got to close to them! But playing with fake blood on a costume and for a shoot was a lot of fun. I couldn't stop licking it off my fingers because it tasted so good!

Doing this costume for Halloween was one of the best experiences ever. I had so much fun! And this costume was perfectly creepy! My best Halloween so far! Thank you for making it a fantastic day.

Brief about the costumes - the costume was made from scratch by myself. OMG THE BINDING HURTTTTTT.when taking it off...(what u see there (or don't see there) was how it was on the day...no editing! <3 <3 <3
I love my little "jelly-fish" epaulettes - they actually flew accross the room like frizzbies!!! it was brilliant! I made the pattern for the jacket myself from looking at the designs of military jackets ^_^
I had help to do some tasks i couldn't cos of full-time work - lily who originally helped handsew fastners; which i had to re-do, and kellie ( *BellBell-AU ) who made my belt.
My Akio Wig was custom designed and thinned out by me. Will darling helped us multi-task and did the shaping spray of the bangs of our wigs, (which I had to partially destroy when I was cutting the wig, but re-did anew!).

I also constructed the dualist swords - the "sword of Utena" (pink chrystal) and the "Sword of Akio" (blue crystal) these are my
precious little babys- they are wood-carved mdf/resign swords with engravings and sandings to get the shape. They are balanced for fighting as well (my fencing friend was very impressed with them!)

Smex-kitten Aly and I are breaking out of the Shell, and escaping towards our brighter future!

We placed second!
Lots of detailed work went into these that we will go into on later pics probably.
You can see part of my headdress here!! All the gold pearls were individually hand sewn on..along with the multifaceted glass beads. There are crystal LED lights in the headdress that light up and make it look like it's covered in stars...my original concept that I was inspired from due to the original artwork having them floating in stars! xD

Thank you so so much to and for taking their time to come over and help us with last minute prep! I love you both so much!

The most amazing thanks and shout out to who let us bunk with them during the WCS weekend because we're so poor! So much love! You girls have an extremely special place in my heart..
