More Fisheye Placebo promotional art!

This one features some silly programmer graffiti despite the serious atmosphere.

The pigeons with IPoAC (IP over Avian Carriers) is a proposal to carry Internet Protocol (IP) traffic by birds such as homing pigeons as a part of an April fool’s joke.

The 3 square icons next to it says eat, sleep, code.

The ones on the stairs refers to another April fool’s joke that created Error 418. Like Error 404, which means “Not Found”, Error 418 means “I’m a teapot”.

The rest of the graffiti are various words and symbols related to the story.

Ch0 of Fisheye Placebo will hopefully be released around March…maybe…

Back in Sector 07

Every couple of years, I'm struck by Final Fantasy VII nostalgia fever. *boum started a (fourth, fifth?) game a two or three weeks ago and just watching the opening sequence made me itch to draw fanart.

And then, a thought struck me. The only "character/thing" I've never been able to draw was Midgar. When I was a teen and playing this game for the first time, I was just astonished by the universe; it was my first exposure to RPGs, to cyberpunk, to anime, everything. I remember my brain overloading on backgrounds in Midgar and thinking there was no way I could EVER draw these scenes. But having now mastered the art of confusing cluttered landscapes, I just had to give it a go. The colouring is full of holes and mistakes but I guess it's part of my style now. Yup, I master the lazy style.

I kinda have mixed feelings with the result though. I guess I could've done at least five different versions with different methods and colours but I had to stop at one point. I think the colours don't do the lineart justice but without colours, all the depth is gone. Plus, I really wanted to try give the scene an eerie radioactive Mako smog and just go crazy with the junk you find along the way in the Slums. This is kinda why I put little emphasis on the characters. I did doodle almost all of them though and I'll post it on my blog soon.

Anyhoo, this is inspired from the scene when Cloud and Aeris go back to Sector 7 after AVALANCHE blows up reactor 5. I guess it'd be all over the news and I really liked the giant TV screen in one of the screens of the game.

I can honestly say I'm no gamer, far less an RPG fan. But without this perticular game at this perticular time in my youth, I'd probably wouldn't even draw right now. So it deserved a worthy hommage

An electronica label contacted me for their ongoing project, in which they pair up a song with an artist. I chose a chiptune-ish song called "Gamma Girls" and I just HAD to go with a funky retro feel. I'm happy I could mix it with my way of colouring!

My friend and I are doing something we call "Level Up." It's basically a weekly art trade where we do our very best and try to improve something about the way we work, i.e. "levelling up." This week's theme: Ninja Turtles.

These were my favorite characters from the 1987 Ninja Turtles cartoon. Screw the Turtles themselves. Vernon was an unrepentant douchebag, and here, he gets his comeuppance.

I've been meaning to scan this FOREVER! It's probably about well over a month old now.. or more. Which i had been wanting to do this image after my NY Comic-con experience after I had a very funny conversation with Steve (which btw- is a very awesome guy) about the *ahem* future of comics and where you can make the big bucks. *coughfurriescough* Hence Emo Boy in a bunny costume. Anyways, i did this on a car ride to my in-laws house.

Anyways, i noticed that that wacky holiday of Zombie-licious fun, Easter, is today, so i decided to scan this in cause of the bunny theme. ;

It's EMMO BOOYY!! yay! This is to because he has a really cool comic out in which I have to get my butt out to buy cause I wants it. I dunno what it is about Emo boy...but..I just really like him.

Also this is half gift art because I was having problems figuring out the comic dealio...and no one would anser me..and I was going crazy, but he was nice and helped me out. Now I know what the hell I am doing...which is good cause that means I can start working and not go "deerrr".
