The Serpentine Offering

This picture was done during a workshop in the "sea of Ice" ( Mer de Glace . France . chamonix )

I didn't use a long exposure here to keep the texture of flowing water. It was hand held with a graduated filter hand held as well ( LEE 0.9 Hard step ) to keep the sky ominous.

I chose a warm white balance to reveal some green in the water. I enjoyed this curved path of running water.. makes me want to swim in

It's one of my favorite from last year, hope you'll enjoy !

Well I have a short brief about this photo. Obviously I was on the plane, but I was in the window seat and I had woken to clouds like this that appeared to have mist around them. So to me I awoke looking outside the window to what looked like heaven. I took out my camera and snapped a few shots was ready to fall back asleep, but up ahead I saw this mound of clouds that looked like a volcano had erupted.
Sadly, by the time I got there this mound did shrink a bit...this mound in the middle could of been bigger. So I awaited this mound to find that the drink lady was approaching; I knew I had to take more than just one shot so I blew off the drink lady for a few seconds and got this shot as one of the three shots of the cloud volcano

Late Evening Oranges

Storm clouds fight with the evening sunset over the Colorado Rockies & Longs Peak. Hard to believe this is the same location where I shot the "Angry Skies" shot from huh? But it most certainly is!

Every now and then I like to get a little artistic with my HDR's and this is one of those, there is no right, no wrongs when it comes to photography and artistic interpretation, and i realize that not everyone likes that, nor this style, that is fine, I respect that, but I also ask the same of you to respect my creativeness, too!

Now that being said, hope ya all dig it!

The Balkans is the historical name of a geographic region of southeastern Europe. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains, which run through the centre of Bulgaria into eastern Serbia. The region has a combined area of 550,000 km2 (212,000 sq mi) and a population of about 55 million people.
The ancient Greek name for the Balkan Peninsula was “the Peninsula of Haemus” (Χερσόνησος του Αίμου, Chersónisos tou Aímou).
The Balkans are adjoined by water on three sides: the Black Sea to the east and branches of the Mediterranean Sea to the south and west (including the Adriatic, Ionian, Aegean and Marmara seas).

The identity of the Balkans is dominated by its geographical position; historically the area was known as a crossroads of various cultures. It has been a juncture between the Latin and Greek bodies of the Roman Empire, the destination of a massive influx of pagan Slavs, an area where Orthodox and Catholic Christianity met, as well as the meeting point between Islam and Christianity.

The Balkans today is a very diverse ethno-linguistic region, being home to multiple Slavic, Romance, and Turkic languages, as well as Greek, Albanian, and others. Through its history many other ethnic groups with their own languages lived in the area, among them Thracians, Illyrians, Romans, Uzes, Pechenegs, Cumans, Avars, Celts, Germans, and various Germanic tribes.

The Balkan region was the first area of Europe to experience the arrival of farming cultures in the Neolithic era. The practices of growing grain and raising livestock arrived in the Balkans from the Fertile Crescent by way of Anatolia, and spread west and north into Pannonia and Central Europe.

In pre-classical and classical antiquity, this region was home to Greek city-states, Illyrians, Paeonians, Thracians, Epirotes, Mollosians, Thessalians, Dacians and other ancient groups. Later the Roman Empire conquered most of the region and spread Roman culture and the Latin language but significant parts still remained under classical Greek influence. During the Middle Ages, the Balkans became the stage for a series of wars between the Byzantine, Bulgarian and Serbian Empires.

Dzisiaj przedstawiam wam panoramę mojego rodzinnego miasta. W skrócie od lewej: szpital powiatowy, osiedle "trzebińska" i "niepodległości" (na pierwszym planie) u góry (koło komina) osiedle "południe", tory , i po prawej osiedle "północ". Dodatkowo w tle widać dwa kościoły: ten z większą wieżą to Kościół Matki Bożej Różańcowej, a ten po prawej z mniejszą wieżą Kościół św. Mikołaja. Na dole jak sie można domyśleć jest nasza piękna autostrada A4. Pozdrawiam i zapraszam do komentowania.
