Birth of a new category or beginning of the end of categories? Just when you thought there couldn't possibly be another "ism" on the art world horizon, what with the growing accessibility of all art technique and technology rendering all the "schools of art" equally available and doable and therefore making impossible the dominance or even existence of any current art "movement" %u2026 comes "suggestivism," the "ism" best summing up what art is in our lives today, defined more by what it is not, rather than what it is.

Ive been neglecting my realism skills for some time now, so I decided to push myself further with this illustration of Emily Browning (Babydoll) from the movie Sucker punch, directed by Zac Snyder. Took a lil while to get her done, but Im quite happy with how she finally turned out.

The body was drawn with 6H, 4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 6B and Charcoal.

When i was drawing this i was thinking of the chaos in life and how we just want to balance or find an equilibrium. So that is what I called this drawing. The song i listened to while drawing this was "Fix You" by Coldplay. I was getting over a break up. the song is about how Light will guide you home. "When you're too in love to let it go but if you never try you'll never know just what you're worth."- Coldplay.

Finding that center, finding that self love, and self worth will lead you directly to where you need to go.

I draw by seeing whole shapes and the shades with in the shapes while feeling an overall emotion while I am drawing. I think this is very important and that the emotion will literally come out at you. This was a thrill to draw.

Atlas fishing up his wife Wendy after a very very long wait that she'd fall asleep and couldn't try to drown him as he's snatching her up. A little game they've played since childhood, where Wendy hides deep into her element and Atlas tries to figure how to catch her.

Their poses took me a ridiculous amount of time to finally get done, but was forth all those foul words and hair pulling. =v=

_{In my first meeting with fellow photographer Richard Pier Petit some months ago, we (randomly) came to talk about why I rarely photographed men. I said because I photograph for beauty, and I rarely see the kind with what I'm looking for in male models. Richard then said that there were some boys from Ford LA I may like, I was skeptical of course, so when I received Daniel Landroche's photos they surprised me.

With some luck I managed to squeeze in a shoot with Daniel just the day before my flight that trip. And I'm really glad we shot together, it was beautiful.

A little background about the image as it's often asked: This was done in about 12 shots/tries (we were drunk and Mark, my friend and model was very enthusiastic (albeit I was terrified he was going to crack his head on the side of the bath he was pushing back so hard and close to the edge!) So kudos to Mark. It was an Inception inspired shoot for a DVD/Movie project for Uni

School assignment...we had to create a drawing based on the sentence 'There's no place like home'. I guess my head said 'damn it all, tortoises and giraffes'. So here we have a leopard tortoise with artistic liberties very very taken and a bunch of astonished giraffes.
