I came across a picture of one of my favourite models (Susan Coffey) and played around with some ideas of possible photo-manipulations I could do, until I setteled on this one!

The idea (in case you didn't notice) is that she is is taking a last look on her life before entering heaven!

It took me a few hours to do, some parts rushed but meh..

Take my Galaxy Note II to an even further trial spin, I drew this image of a lovely redhead entirely in Note II, armed with my S Pen, and using Sketchbook Mobile app.

Again, as you might see, Note II and it's S Pen proves to be a powerful gadget for people who just love to draw. Personally, this gadget has bring the FUN in drawing and sketching back for me

Oh yeah, the inspiration of the lovely redhead is based on the most stunning Susan Coffey, but then I decided to apply some changes and facial variation. So, thank you Susan!

For once I'm fairly happy with a painting! I've been doing a lot of quick paintings, and Guild Wars 2 fan art, but haven't really pushed myself to do the best job I can do. I figured I should give that shot this weekend.

I spent probably close to 15 hours on this spread over two days, and referenced heavily for the hair and face. Came up with the suit on my own.

There are things I'd still like to fix, but at this point it'd just be trying to 'make it better'. I do these as exercises for self-improvement, and fixing it more doesn't really help me much as I've identified where I went wrong, and what to focus on next time I paint.

I didn't want to get into too much detail with this (value and whatnot) because quite frankly, I feel the basic sketch was already pretty bomb and I didn't want to screw it up by overdoing it.

And to be honest I'm pretty proud of this because I usually only do weapon+armor concepts, this was a huge leap out of my comfort zone and I didn't even know how to start when I decided to do this.

Color version of the drawing. Used HB, 2B graphite for the initial drawing. Then used pastel pencils for a light base. Then used paint shop pro 9 for contrasting and saturation effects to deepen the color.

This is my addition to the substantial gallery of fanart of the lovely Susan Coffey.
I think it worked out pretty well.

HP A4 paper from the printer at work. I used mechanical pencils (0.5mm) HB B and 2B. Normal pencils 4B and 5B and some 6B for the edge. Took me somewhere in the region of 12 to 15 hrs.

This is the final version - or at least as far as I'm taking it for a while - of the MangaStudio play I've been doing.

Image is sketched into MangaStudio with the photo sitting open in Photoshop for reference.

First drawing I've done for like 2 years. I really concentrated on the hair and eyes and feel they're the strongest parts of the picture, i smudged some of the other parts to draw attention to the eyes. Scanned the image and fixed up the contrast so it kept the contrast from the original picture - i didnt edit it besides that

So I started out wanting to practice 'happy' eyes with one of =asimplesong's wedding photos, and then of course I had to render the rest of her face 'cause honestly how could I not? I actually think this one came out the best(which is weird 'cause it's the first one I did and hadn't even like... warmed up before hand or anything), but I still might go in and repaint it with color 'cause I love her earrings in the photo. I would've put her husband in too, but I had to go run errands and disrupted the process so. Next time.

Then, like saturday evening, I found one of ~JohnPeri's photos in my favorites and decided it would be subject numbah 2~! An amazing photo of an amazing model, I spent an unnaturally long time trying to capture just that. I still don't think I got it quite right(I'm also now very well acquainted to the models' teeth as I repainted them at least ten times, eh), so make sure you go look at the photo 'cause it's beautiful.

Lastly, nonstop sunday from like. 10 to 4. I worked on *sideshowsito's gorgeous portrait of *SusanCoffey. I really like this portrait because the emotion is so subtle and fine, I really had to concentrate on her eye and the part of her mouth. Ironically, I managed to make the eyebrow a little too intense, but I think I did manage to get the same type of emotion so. I guess it all worked out okay. Oh, and; water fail. drawing the white line in was hella fun anyways, and that's what counts, right?

Anyways, practicing emotion.
