After seeing Skyfall, I just had to draw these two.

This Work in Progress is part of an article that I am writing for Derwent.

For your information: their heads are 0.15"x 0.2" / 4mm x 5mm big.

These are the smallest figures I have ever drawn. With the usage of 0.3mm mechanical pencils.
So far still without a magnifying glass.

(And the answer to your question is: yes, I do get headaches. So worth it though!)

My mom found one of my old sketch books today from 1999 and the drawing on the left was a little gem I found in there lol

I drew the one on the left at age 9 and the one on the right at age 19 last year. The first was drawn from my imagination with crayons and the second is of Hayley Williams and made with soft pastels.

So this is the 10 year progress I’ve made. and I hope to learn much more and grow as an artist!

Solstis Vocaloid walk through

I'm using a diffrent base for my 'hones adapting them to fint over real headphones
and right now they have no flashy things on them cause i can't find any

Materals needed

Directions
Paper
Sciccors
Foam sheets in black, white grey red yellow red(depending on whos 'hones you are making)
Headband, or headphones

Start by drawing a big D shape on the paper t0o create a pattern
I used the basic shape of my phones to start then elongated them from there.
[note]I always feel vocaloid phones are built too big for my head size and I wear glasses I don't need anyhting in my parrifiral vission so mine are smaller , drawn within a 3inch by 3inch square]

3X3 will make them very small, draw a circle inside the square . the part you need that is curved is ONLY HALF THE CIRCLE the rest is a box

anyway draw your shape out in the paper then cut it out.
trace the cut out onto the foam . there is a front and back to it so draw on the backside. pencil works well . then cut out 2 - 4 phonebases

[Notes] since I am putting my phones over real working ones I only need 1set if you don't want an open back over you ear you may use 2 to sit against your ear (meaning you need 4)]

cut the sides. I used the wigth of a ruler to amke it easy. thats about an inch . the strip is the same legnth as the foam sheet. which may or may not be the correct legnth or your base more can be added or it can be cut later.

Accents

Yellow foam sheet
Red foam sheet

for the red accent you will need a half circle just a little smaller than your base . to make this part I traced the curved part of my base patturn on paper . I actuly cut out the full circle and folded it in half it was easier to trim down. then I foleded the half in half , this will make sure the top/bottom are semetrical. you need to trim it down in small incements .

the yellow accents are tiny squares. mine are only about 1/2 inch but you will need to ajust your to fit. you will need 4

NOW FOR GLUE!

at this point you should have 4 sets of peices.
Base, Red half-circle, Yellow tiny squares, side strips

This part will take a while because if you use regular white glue (like I did the first time). twice as tacky glue or any other craft glue should work. I used hot glue the second time and worked well.

[Notes] I have a low temp glue gun be carfeul it dries fast! don't go around the whole edge work in 1 or 2 inch increments. it won't tahe as long as it seems]

trace the accents onto the base that will make glueing and placment easier

Glue the accents on first. squares need a little spot the half-circles can be done in two parts of glueing.

then glue the strips on the side.

I am leaving a small gap where I will put my real headpone in. this gap is closer to the front than the back. the same can be done with a headbandthe gap will allowe you to put the band inside the 'hone

now! you should have 2 matching sets of 'hone sides

I have long been a fan of visual novels, and their backgrounds and art direction, so I was thrilled when I was approached with a commission to develop a series of backgrounds for the in-development visual novel, "Errant Heart".

For those not in the know, visual novels are a type of adventure game, mostly popular in Japan, where the player follows a written story and makes choices which lead the story into multiple branches. The graphics usually consist of high-res static 2D character sprites and background images.

The story of Errant Heart takes place mostly in the fictional town of San Moritz, which is based around an Italian town in the 1940s. I ended up doing a series of 7 exterior shots of different locations seen throughout the town. Each image has 4 variations, depending on time of day and weather, making a total of 28 images which were produced over a period of 3 weeks. Each background was created using a combination of 3D and digital painting.

You can find the full set of backgrounds that I produced elsewhere in my gallery.

As of this writing the visual novel is early in development and does not have a set release date. I encourage you to try it out when it comes out.

Hey guys here are the Photoshop brushes that i often use in my paintings.

Click the download button to download, also these brushes were created in PS5, Works for Ps CS4, CS3 I'm not sure if it'll work with other photoshop versions, hopefully it does ; !

I included 56 brushes in there, some I use often like the airbrush for skin, and some I like to experiment with.
Feel free to try them out. A lot of them are Photoshop standard brushed that I changed the settings on. I recommend playing around with the brush settings to see what you like best because every bush has the potential to be awesome, you just need to find the way to use it : ). Also I usually paint at 70-100% opacity with the pressure option on( its already included in the brushes).
