3.5 x 5.5 inch graphite on bristol board. I find getting a good image of a pencil drawing difficult, this is the best I can get at the moment. (its slightly spotty and the background should be the white paper)

The picture was taken in an national park in the northern parts of Sweden With a Nikon D700 and a Nikon 600 mm lens F 4 and a Nikon TC-17E II teleconverter.

I hope you enjoy this picture of Europe's largest feline predator in the wild i would love to be able to seem them like this again...

Yet another of my dog Myrrah, a 10 month old rough collie. She loves to hold on to her line as she runs!
This is the last bit of snow in our field. I noticed how the snow kicked up into the light as she sprinted after snowballs my husband was tossing around, and couldn't resist snapping a few photos.
Used: Canon 5DMKII, 70-200 f/2.8 IS II.

I love beetles! They come in so many different colour varieties and shapes, and some of them look like little gemstones. They are really fun to paint and if they have a metallic look like this one it's quite a challenge to get the reflections right.

I found this little guy in our garden last summer, it was tiny, only about 8mm long, but it was so shiny and sparkly, as if it was made out of a polished metal... I took a photo of it to paint it at some point, so here it is.

I had no idea what species it was so I called it "Bob" I now found out that it is from the "rosemary beetles" family.... apparently they are a pest, but who decides that anyway?

Took me 5 days, done in acrylic on 300g paper, 40cm x 40cm (16inch x 16inch)

*does anyone of you know the French documentary movie "Microcosmos: Le peuple de l'herbe", it came out 1996? If you are interested in insects, watch it!!! Abolutely stunning pictures

PARADISE ON EARTH - Seychelles 2013

You maybe know this location already from some slick or another print medium. No wonder, because this beach - Source D´Argent - on the beautiful island of La Digue, is not without a reason dubbed as "one of the most beautiful beaches on our planet".
On this evening, no one expected an exciting sunset anymore when suddenly the sky was bathed in purple and an extremely brief drama was unfolding before us.
I was lucky to be at the right place at the right time on this evening.

Here is another image from yesterday mornings sunrise at Abraham Lake. This amazing light did not last very long so it required a lot of running on the ice to try and find some different foreground. At one point my ice cleat flew off while in full sprint and I nearly took a spill, but luckily my ever so graceful arm flailing slowed me down enough that I did not fall.

Eskimo Curlew

This is an illustration for my professor's article about the Eskimo Curlew (Numenius borealis), a beautiful wader similar to Whimbrel. It used to form huge flocks, but nowadays, you won't see them anymore. In fact, you won't see even a single bird. It was hunted down and the curlew was last seen several decades ago (There's even a movie about this species! It's called The Last of the Curlews). That's why no decent photos with many details exist, mostly just photos of taxidermied individuals. Due to that I had some trouble finding all the characteristics I needed, so I spent several hours just searching for photos, pictures and descriptions. This picture is as accurate as I could make it. Hope you'll like it

We were shooting the thousands of doves at the Cubitje Quap waterhole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa, when this lanner falcon struck gold by catching one. I was busy shooting the lanner ripping the dove to peaces in seconds, when the Goshawk suddenly appeared in my viewfinder... Yip, the downside of fixed focals (not that I would have had the chance to adjust a zoom...)

INFO ABOUT THE ANIMAL:

Name: polar/arctic fox (alopex lagopus)
Location: north of Eurasia, North America, Greenland
Size: 67 cm long body, 30 cm high, 40 cm long tail weight: 5 - 9 kg
Diet: lemmings, Arctic Hare, eggs, and carrion, but polar foxes eat also birds, baby seals and fish. Foxes are able to hide their prey to find and eat it later.
Conservation status: Least Concern (only population in Scandinavia is endangered)
Interesting facts: polar foxes change their fur. They are white in winter, but then start to lose their fluffy white coat. In summer, they are dark grey and much less fluffy | because they live in cold weather, their snouts and ears are very short | polar foxes tend to form monogamous pairs in breeding season. Females give birth to 4-8 pups and both parents take care of the babies | some foxes are called ,,blue foxes due special colour or their coat | polar foxes are able to survive temperature 80°C! | polar foxes often follow polar bears to eat rest of bears prey | polar foxes have thick fur even on their paws thats why they can walk on ice

All done in my 15 hour final exam, quite happy with the result sticky fingers totally worth it!

Arranged on 3 pieces of A1 in real life, though for this i wanted them all together
