Ok I understand this isn't very clear, but I think You can still see more or less what I was trying to portray.

But If You don't here:
it's a hand, to which a plug is being plugged.
There's some sort of a drink being spilled, a cut wire and scissors. And documents.
And the paper is kind of cheated, because it creased just in the right places! xD

Too Much materialism in this world. Too much connection and binding to the mechanic world

I have for the first time, watched the trilogy of the 'Lord of the Rings'. It left me amazed by its beauty and I believe it is a work of genius. I chose to portray this scene since it conveys much of the emotion in the 'Return of the King'- the fear, the doubts and the sorrow.

I've been working on it for about 4 weeks.

Holy moly did this take forever

I've been on a Star Fox kick lately so needless to say when I got the idea to draw this, I simply had to jump at the chance. Though to be honest, what I originally had in mind was to pay a tribute to the canceled game intended for the N64 called 'Dinosaur Planet': [link] [link]

At first I was weighing the idea of drawing the main protagonists from that game, Sabre and Krystal in the same poses as Fox and Krystal here; unfortunately I couldn't find any good quality pictures of them so I had to let that idea die.

What gave birth to this idea was from the scene where Fox first meets an imprisoned Krystal ([link] Awww Don't they make such a cute couple? )

The coloring of the background wasn't the easiest because I had wanted it to appear as though Krystal was still trapped inside the crystal and have some of the illuminating effect from the crystal.

I'm very pleased with the result of this piece. I almost tore the paper apart several times through the hard and complicated way, but both the paper and I survived. Then I can call this a success, I think I know it's not good quality on this picture, but it wasn't any good light to take a good picture:/

Edit: New and better picture Though it's still not as good as the actual piece, but it's the best I can get. She'll get this drawing as a present tomorrow, so I hope she'll like it.

Done with Derwent Graphic pencils, eraser and toilet paper

Used around 11 hours on this (5 only on the face!)

Feedback is highly wanted, so I can get even better to the next one

Dragon progress

Hey guys I've been meaning to paint over my deviation : [link] and give it more detail and depth but I wanted to improve my drawing skills first. I was particularly dissatisfied with my dragon at the time which is too chubby and lacks structure especially in the wings. After reading a few helpful tutorials such as: [link] I found where my problems were.

However, I still have a long way to go. I'm still not entirely satisfied with my dragon. I could use some help anatomically wise, especially in the wings, the legs and the head - really, everywhere. I'm reading a biology book on muscle structure but it's not really going through at the moment- nevertheless, still trying I'd also like help with light and shadows, especially on whether the flame looks right. Do I need more contrast? More darker colours? Where should shadows lie? And I'm not too sure on my scales either :S

I did the newer deviation using ink pens, that are kind of like my calligraphy ones in the way you dip them into the ink. As you can see I'm not too familiar with them Any tips on line art and cross hatching would be great.

And then there were three!

After I thought that the painting was finished, the commissioner requested that I include their newest addition to the family, Star. Star is a 5 year old greyhound (top right) who has just found her forever home. She has never had a real home and had bounced from kennel to kennel her whole life.

I was surprised at how easily Star went into the empty space in the painting and the work was done much more quickly than I had anticipated, putting an extra three or so hours into this piece. Guess she just belongs.

So I have this book. It's called 'Fantasy Genesis'. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE. Everyone. Everywhere. I never would've drawn this without this book.

I love the look of sciffy, spacey, techy, biomech stuff. Always have. But you'd never know it from my gallery because I've never had any 'good' ideas for it.

I started rolling the dice (that's what you do with this book, it's like rolling an rpg character) and of what I rolled, these are what inspired this: Octopus; Primate; Lupine; Palm (tree); Electric bolt; Vapor; Reactor core; Laser beam; Stitch

With that amalgamation of items, creatures and concepts I give you the biomechanical lupine cephaloid sapien soldier!

This as been in my head for quite some time now although it didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped. Still, the result is pretty interesting.

It's been almost a year since I've done a pastel portrait, yet I feel as though I have somehow magically improved over that space of time (see [link] and [link]) Quite amazing. Done using all the colours here [link] except light blue, light green and yellow. Admittingly, I cheated and used coloured pencil for the eyes, although I wonder how it would have turned out without them.
