So, been replaying all the Gyakuten Saiban games recently, and I found an old comic that I'd sketched up a while back summarizing the Phoenix Wright story line of the Gyakuten Saiban series and one covering the first game of Gyakuten Kenji (thought I assume Gyakuten Kenji 2 will not deviate much, aside from the chess thing).

Soo, I figured I'd ink it. So, here we go! The Phoenix Wright central games summarized in 4 panels.

Told you guys it was coming. It just took maybe half a year, but I got it. (Edit: Not half a year to draw it. Half a year to actually start the thing. XD)

I tried making it look completely painted-ish, but I hated how it looked so it's half cel-shaded. XD; I also hate how this looks in general, but I always hate my art, sooooo.

O-kei, the debate that is taking place is based on a real event between me and my brother. This discussion is not verbatim, but I tried to get as close as possible. Because I think that Damon was once noble and was well-respected for a reason other than fear, back when he was a detective. Because I like thinking that the reason Damon's betrayals later on had weight was because of their partnership and friendship and trust.

Poor, poor Phoenix. I know Trucy and Maya don't meet in Apollo Justice (and certainly not Maya in her Tres Bien uniform), but can you imagine if they got together? There'd be a lot of mischief in the office... and I think Nick would check himself into the mental asylum immediately!

Okay, so first off, I'm really REALLY sorry for turning this in late. I have no excuse other than I managed my time very poorly, which isn't really an excuse, so... yeah. Anyway, sorry!

The pairings my giftee asked for were Edgeworth/Phoenix, Ema/Klavier, and - it was the last one that really caught my eye - Klavier/Me. It was probably something born out of having nothing else to write, I dunno, but I found it really interesting and decided to conceptualize something based on that.

As so it happens, I've been playing a lot of otome games lately. I think you can put two and two together. xD

I SUCK AT FORESHORTENING AND SHADING AND BACKGROUNDS BAWWW.
So, there you have it! Klavier/You, holding hands and watching the stars from his office window! I know it's not your top pairing but it was too brilliant an idea to pass up. The good thing about this piece is that the "You" can be absolutely anyone you want, so any pairing with Klavier you support applies. Happy Klavier fans all around yaaay~

...Man, so many things I still want to say about the process and whatnot, but I'm way too tired lol. I'll end this here. I'm going to get some sleep now. '8D Maybe.

Ghost Trick was made by the same people as the Ace Attorney games, so I started drawing the charaters of the AA games in the style of Ghost Trick.

I used Sissel as a base.

It's surprising how well this style suits Larry. Sissel kida remids me of him (in design I mean).

If I have the time and passion for it, I'll try to make the other AA characters this way as well.

I'm dedicating this picture to , who first introduced the Ace Attorney games to me (well technically, no, but she made me really want to play it), and my real life friend who lent me her NDS and the game.
(Okay..I have to admit that I am very out of date..)

It was such a mistake for not using references on my first fanart of this series... I apologize for all the mistakes that I made (I think I realized at least 80% of them by now..please don't be too harsh on me "orz).

Today's entry in Fanart February is a tribue to the Ace Attorney series - in particular, the Phoenix Wright ones. Since there are way too many characters in this franchise, I decided to feature only the ones who stand on the sides in court (+ Gumshoe and the main judge as a bonus).

COMMENTS:

1. Grossberg & Mia
No comment.

2. Winston Payne
This is purely personal speculation. Age is a frightening thing.

3. Godot
Don't worry, nobody was on that plane.

4. Franziska von Karma
Her text says "deredere" - a reference to...actually, I don't know if what she does can actually be considered "deredere," so we'll just say it's fun drawing her out of character.

5. Edgeworth / Wright / Judge
I drew all three and then made text for them! This is probably not the best approach. Originally Edgeworth was going to be citing some legal stuff, and Wright would object, saying there is no room for law in court, and the judge would sustain it. But I don't know any legal stuff.

6. Gumshoe v Pearl
I don't know how canonical Gumshoe terrorizing Pearl is (actually, I'm quite certain it's non-canon), but it was fun anyway, putting one of the largest characters in the game next to one of the smallest.

7. Manfred von Karma
See #4.

8. Maya Fey
This was actually the funnest one for me to draw.

9. Megaman & Apollo
TIIIIME WAAAARP

10. Ema Skye
Was running out of space. I wonder what drove her to think huge pink glasses would either look cool and/or work well? Plus I just noticed that it's a good thing the duo to her left were drawn looking up.

This is what I called her.

Man, this one really took way too long (I started this some time last week, I believe). I blame the fact that it is essentially 11 pictures crammed onto one canvas. Also that I am slow. I am also slow. Well, enjoy! Now I can finally move on to something else...

Previous case: Turnabout Trump

Hoo boy, I suck at formatting these things nicely. I apologize for the oodles of white space, next time I'll either try to squeeze everything in tighter or else include some small filler drawings. The turnaround on the next case will probably be a lot longer, it's just that I already had several of these done and decided to pound out the rest so I could get this out of my hair.

I didn't include Phoenix in this one since he's neither a new character nor heavily involved in the case. And just like last time, no Judge and no dead guy.

Long-winded notes that are mostly for my own reference:
-Clearly I took a lot of liberties with Klavier! I needed him to look similar to Kristoph, and since I draw Kristoph very different from the original art, I had to stray pretty far from Klavier's anime-pretty-boy look.
-My first pass at Wesley looked way too similar to the original art style, so I tried to push the design more the second time around. It's pretty different...but hopefully it works?
-I felt like I was cheating with Eldoon, his original design doesn't really scream "anime" to me, so I really didn't have to change much!
-Guh, Mr. Kitaki is rivaling Apollo for the title of "Herr Forehead." *facepalm* I mean, he has a really high forehead in the official art, too, but still. Ah, well.
-I'm sorry if Apollo and Trucy don't look entirely consistent with how I drew them last time! Consistency is one of about eleven million things I need to work on; I just don't have a good enough grasp on perspective and proper proportioning to pull it off all the time. I actually spent a while reworking their faces to try to get them right. Even though I didn't nail it, the end result was better for it, so I'm glad I put in the time.
-Ahaha, that stupid little caricature of Klavier is so terrible, I scribbled it out as an afterthought just so Ema would have something to react to.

REGARDLESS...so this is. Uh.

TO BEGIN WITH, AAAHHHHH I GOT GHOST TRICK ON FRIDAY AND IT WAS FABULOUS AND I BEAT IT ON SATURDAY AND ON SUNDAY, MY FRIEND GINGA AND I...got to plotting. Plotting an AA/GT crossover, that is.

Basically, these three are sort of dead.

But using the ghost tricks they gained from dying in the presence of a member of the highly spiritual Fey clan, they live on in the afterlife and TOGETHER THEY FIGHT CRIME

It counts as traditional if all I did digitally was add some colour and fix some minor stuff, right? Drawn for the genderbending event over at #Gyakuten-MSN.

I tried to make Shelly look like a classy, apparently harmless lady; I hope that the wavy tuft of white hair is a good enough equivalent to... whatever the heck his hair is as a male. If you think you see something sharp concealed underneath that dress, you may be right - that sash around her waist serves several purposes... Also he will not be happy to wake up as a lady and I want his female name to be Steve.

Gant is a big woman, naturally! I didn't think his lightning-shaped hair bang would look very feminine, so instead, I did something else with the bangs and tried to transfer the lightning shape to the rest of the hair. And, uh... the tie? I... I have no idea, honestly. Whenever I try to make Gant's face softer, he ends up resembling Apollo. Eerie.

Also don't look at their hands, holy shit, I got lazy as fuck

Submission for the contest held by , which called for a Big O! parody. While realizing some similarity between Roger and Phoenix Wright, and thinking of the "Ye not guilty" phrase, this came to mind.

I have no knowledge of Phoenix Wright other than some of the character's names, since I haven't played a single one of the games yet. But I think the ones I chose fit pretty well. I was going to have Schwartzwald as (Edgeworth is it?), but I didn't get that totally drawn in time before the deadline today. So I gave Beck some dialogue instead to fill up some empty space.

Pose for Roger is obviously ripped from this in-game image [link], which is parodied often. As a parody, I technically could get away without citing my reference, but to be safe, there it is. The "Objection!" logo is stolen from an image search. Wasn't going to bother re-drawing that.

I liked that idea very much and so I decided to draw a picture. ^^

I think it was never stated what breed Pess was.
But a Border Collie seemed good to me because this breed is one of the most intelligent, devoted, very loyal and willing to do everything for the master.

Sorry about the paltry/not existing bg, but after finishing Pess, Edgey and the chair I just lost my patience to do a proper bg too. I spent way too much time on this. xD
I still fail at it anyway, so I just slipped in some random ornaments. They look kinda fancy too though. x'D

Edgey isn't as smug as our dear friend Phoenix now is he? lol

Wow I can't believe I finished this in under two nights. I usually get flustered with cleaning the lines and end up stretching the process for weeks or so. Well I ain't complaining.

Done in MS Paint. Thank goodness I don't have to use the touchpad anymore. The mouse is so much easier.
