Grandaunt's journal - 12 large textures

Probably my favourite textures package I've made so far. Some weeks ago I found this incredibly beautiful journal of my grandaunt at my grandmother's house and fell completely in love with it. It looks simply gorgeous and so very lovely. Every page is unique and filled with old memories. Therefore I decided to scan some pages of it and to make textures out of them. Perhaps I'll make a second textures set with pages from that journal in the near future, we'll see.

Anyway, I truly hope you'll like those textures as much as I do. Have fun with them!

Oh and I dedicate this set to
She gave us a Premium membership for three months some time ago and I'm still so thrilled about it. Thank you so so so much! ♥

Goddammit! drawing people kissing is hard!

Ive received a lot of suggestions on drawing kissing poses, but i don't really know if i have the hang of it yet.

If you have any tips for me? feel free to share.

I do know a few basics like the heads need to be tilted so the two darlings don't crush their noses, and that's its good to practice tilted head angles since they are used a lot in these kind of poses.

If you like any of these poses feel free to use them.

oh yes! and no this isn't for yaoi (or it could be), My females are very ambiguous... something im not happy about....i need to practice drawing feminine characters...

but if you want to use it for yaoi, yuri, hetro...i don't really mind, what ever floats your boat

Atsushi Sakurai, once again.
Acrylic on canvas; in the reference he's got his hair cropped short, but I've always preferred him with his waist-length tangle of straight black hair. And the said reference was cut at the chin; I had to improvise the throat, so sorry if it looks a bit odd There's just a green light shining upward, red light shining downward; he doesn't have a green biomechanical jaw like a very kind relative of mine suggested xD
I hope you like him! It's my first attempt at acrylic on canvas; so I took a hugely long time to finish him (I kept getting scared that I'd screw it up xD).

I re added the download I even added newer cracks on to it and sharpened them up and I also added the (.abr) brushes in I didn't include the (.psp) or Gimp... But it has the images so your just going to have to figure out how to make them into brushes.

Annoying Logo Design

Well, maybe not THE most overused -- but from what I see, it's pretty damn common -- and annoying.

Don't mean to be a hater here, but I've wanted to rant about this for a while and, well, damnit, I had to get it off my chest. Sorry if this is TOTALLY random to all you who watch me, hahaha, but I do some design freelance work, so I can't help but observe trends.

I mean, what does a logo like this really represent for a company? Complete obscure genericness? I like, (hell, LOVE,) simplicity and minimalism, but only when clever originality and innovation are implemented with it. [Take this logo for example: [link] -- pure genius, and nothing short. I understand that logos like this take a lot of time and development, weeks, even a month, but the strength of the concept is there through its development -- isn't it better to have fewer BETTER deigned logos than a crapload of cheaply designed ones?] However, this particular design method, to me, has become such a common sight, I can really only think of it being the current big design "fad" -- the kind of look EVERYONE wants until it gets completely worn and made obsolete. Web 2.0 design was made infamous by a FLOOD of "SpeechBubble" logos for just about everything imaginable, [seen here: [link] -- literally, the volume of them is shocking,] and I suppose this is what's replacing it. Just... not as iconic.

Don't mean to offend any designers out there who use this as a staple in their portfolio -- I just want you to think, though. Innovate more with your cleverness and cunning! Not make as many logos as you can with a shape you lazily made with the Pen tool. You're better than this! Note though, I'm not attacking this logo when used on a blank-slate website mockup full of Lorem Ipsum text blocks and "Insert Company Name Here" tags. Obviously on a mockup like that, you're going to want to be as generic as possible.

I can be completely wrong, though. This is only my opinion, and I could be missing something bigger about this than I thought. Comment your own thoughts below! [Keep it smart, though. Trollers get marked as spam and people looking to argue had better have reasons other than "you're wrong, you're not a designer, let's see you do better."]

Besides after seeing some of my textures on the internet without credits makes me think about that option too.

Sorry for that and blame those who steal or use my works without my permission.

I know how hard it is to make materials by yourself when you don't know how but remember those who do things for you have to deal with making them, too. I'd like to help all the newbies etc. but to credit is no big deal.

This is a photo of two friends sharing a brief kiss, nothing more. Yet devART put a mature flag on it, which was more than UNFAIR it is ILLEGAL. They discriminate against kissing if the subject happens to be two men. They don't flag photos as matue if it's a man and a woman. This narrowminded homophobic view is shocking and i expected more from a community where i have spent a lot of my time and money for some years now. The fact someone has read something perverted into a photo that is completely innocent, is sickening and alarming. Those with such evil minds create wars and kill innocent children in the name of righteousness, and that has nothing to do with art.
