Korra print for Otakuthon : )I feel like this is not my best work, I was trying to go for a more dynamic pose, I wanted to try something new. I had lost of fun with the new brush I made by useing texture and dual brush option in photoshop. this was a good experimental piece. there are a lots of room for improvements for sure.

Surpriiiise!

My tribute to Megaseadramon, which has been my favourite digimon since I beat Machinedramon with it in Digimon World 1. I also wanted to see if I still could do soft shading. Apparently I can.

Woo this took so long! I have no idea when I started it, but I've had this feeling all the time, that it WILL be finished and it WILL be great. xD And it did! I'm very pleased with it even though it would have looked so much cooler with the background I first tried with it (check the progress-link above).

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to draw a character based on two quite different looking tiny pictures? ([link] and [link]) I used also some reference from digimon episodes, but they weren't much help. I was just looking at the pictures and tried to think that "those fins just have to be in some kind of order!".
I had trouble with the head, because the original has so weird upper jaw (under the helmet). So this is kind of my own vision of Megaseadramon. Also, after coloring I noticed I had forgotten the blue stripes it should have had. >'D It took some time to fix that.

What else..? Oh, I used photoshop's vector tool to do some of the lineart. It's so useful! Worth a try at least.

Well, I hope you like it! Megaseadramon should recieve better fan-art!

The Green Bird is back!

Usually finishing a big work like this makes me feel like YAYY and I'm so proud and
stuff like that. Right now my feelings are mostly relief. It's done. Now that it's done, I can start something else.

Don't get me wrong, I really wanted to draw a remake of my most popular work.
I made "Call of the Green Bird" as a tribute to the awesome book I had read and also
because I wanted to prove that I can draw a phoenix that doesn't have any of the
mistakes I usually do. To this remake I wanted to fix the mistakes from the previous
green bird but at the same time it had to look the same as much as possible - same bird
with same color scheme and sparkly background.
The upgrades I made are:
- Took the weird "decorative-armpit-thingies" away and replaced them with glowing white decorations.
- Made colors bit smoother and took care that the bird doesn't get lost in the background.
- Used thinner lineart and colored it.
- Feathers look like feathers and wings are more anatomical.
- Used some perspective which the original didn't have at all.
- The bird also has a tail now. Small, but it's there.
- I also gave the bird a name:
Edynesaye

Despite the upgrades, I didn't want to remake the whole design. Feet had to be strong,
wings huge, longest tail decoration feathers 'cordless' making them look a bit less like real feathers.
I'm not as happy as I could be and I don't know why that is. I feel like I had rushed with this though I know I didn't.
At many points I wanted to redraw the background but I didn't because it had to be
like the original. Some other things disturb me too, like the feet which I've never been very good at.
I'm very appy with some things though. ^^ Shading succeeded wonderfully, glowing parts look great,
her design looks great and above all it looks a lot better than the old one.

I guess that's it. I'm making a reference sheet for Edynesaye later.

Snapes Wand Hilt

So, outside of the main ride in Hogwarts, is Ollivander's. And they literally sell wands. BUT NOT JUST ANY WANDS. Replicas from the ACTUAL MOVIE. So they had wands that were duplicated from Severus Snape, Sirius Black, Harry Potter, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Albus Dumbledore, Draco Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Voldemort, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and much, much more. I believe I owed Snape and bought his. HOWEVER. Want the coolest wand? (in my opinion) GET SIRIUS'. It's triangular-shaped with rune-like engravings all over it.

My first submission to Deviantart! Vocaloid IA! She's so awesome, her voice is incredible and I think she might replace Gumi as my favorite Vocaloid. So back to the picture; I got the inspiration for this after seeing "The Vocaloid Pokeball" by wazzy88. I decided to find renders and put them into a picture I had in my mind. I'm glad I found the beam of light and fixed the colors of the picture, they really enhanced the way it looks.
