I don't play TF2 very often.

I think TF2's Soldier is today's most iconic user of the rocket jump technique - I coudn't recall any other recent example. There are very few FPSes that still implement this unrealistic gameplay element - come on people, enjoy the games, and whine less for realistic shit, lol.

Finally posting something here, after a long abscence.

Guy's fan art, from "Guy Vs The Wicked and Nefarious Land", an indie game made by Cog Monkeys, an indie game group started by some friends from the college days.

My old friend is Guy's creator. He's also the mad man behind the game's graphics design, cutscenes and in-game's graphics. Kudos for him and all the staff, they did an incredible job!

The original drawing was made on paper. As I currently don't have access to a scanner, I took a photo of the drawing with a shitty smartphone camera and vectorized it with Inkscape. Finally, put some colors with GIMP.

The game was released last month, give it a try and help support the guys at Cog Monkeys. You can download the demo version at the game's oficial site ([link]). You can also buy the full game at the site.

Did this other day because started to listen to Vocaloid songs again after a long time, and felt inspired. Ugh, I drew Miku too much mature-looking. I know she's already legal (lol), but yet...

Man, they improved a lot this year with the lauching of Vocaloid3. Miku and the entire Vocaloid cast sounds way more natural in recent songs.

Oh, I remembered now that I have other Vocaloid fanarts to complete. Damn!

Yet another mecha sketch. Head and thick chestplate inspired on Break Blade manga's mecha designs. I need to get better in drawing things in different angles, I really suck at it.

Some doodles didn't appear because I drew them too light, and the scanner didn't get them. Anyways, they were concept doodles for yet another mecha drawing.

Lately I've been reading a mecha manga called Break Blade (Broken Blade in the official US releases). I like the author's mecha designs, so I tried to put some of his style in this drawing.

I always end up mixing other people's styles with mine's, because I'm too lazy to try to copy them. My drawing style is an abominable mix-up of bits of various styles I saw and liked through the years.

Lately I'm struggling to make a chinese new year drawing. I didn't want to draw the ideas almost everyone had, like a bunny girl, or a pretty girl holding a bunny in her arms. But until now I still didn't have a good idea.

Este é a primeira página do projeto de tirinhas que havia mencionado em um de meus jornals. A qualidade não está muito boa, e talvez continue assim, lols.

Tenho uma história de mechas que estou fermentando há anos dentro de minha cabeça, mas por falta de tempo/habilidade ela nunca foi pro papel. Tudo que fiz até hoje foram rascunhos de personagens e mechas. Então decidi pegar o que eu consegui dar forma no papel e jogâ-los numa série de 4komas (Yonkomas - tirinhas de 4 quadros) que focam em metalinguagem para tentar fazer o leitor rir.

Ficarei muito feliz se alguém curtir este trabalho. Comentários e sugestões serão muitíssimo bem-vindos.

This is the first project page of comic strips that had mentioned in one of my jornals. The quality is not the best, and maybe it will continue like this, lols.

I have a story that is brewing for years inside my head, but because I lack time/skills, it never went to the paper. All I did till today were sketches of characters and mecha designs. So I decided to take what I got to give form on paper till now and threw them in a series of 4komas (Yonkomas - 4 panel comic strips) that focus on breaking the 4th wall in order to make some lulz.

I'll be very happy if someone enjoy this work. Comments and suggestions are welcome too.

Este desenho foi feito ano passado pro Halloween. Apesar de ter faltado pouca coisa para finalizá-lo, não consegui terminá-lo a tempo e acabei deixando ele na geladeira. Esse ano tentei terminá-lo de novo para a data comemorativa, mas enrolado do jeito que sou acabei terminando só agora.
EDIT: reescaneei o desenho e fiz melhores ajustes nela.

This drawing was done last year for the Halloween. Although there wasn't much things left to do, I couldn't finish it before the deadline. This year I decided to finish it before the end of October, but because I'm a fucking procastinator I finished it only today.
EDIT: rescaned the drawing and did better adjustments on it.

Pseudo speed-drawing, auto-desenho de mim mesmo. Primeiro desenho depois de um longo hiato. A idéia foi imitar a famosa passagem do mangá "Ashita no Joe" (em casa ando sem camisa mesmo, não tem nada a ver com o mangá), e recriar o quarto onde vivo. Como não tinha um scanner à disposição, tirei uma foto com a webcam do meu notebook e fiz alguns ajustes no GIMP pro borrão ficar compreensível.

Pseudo speed-drawing, auto-drawing of myself. First drawing after a long hiatus. Tried to mimic that famous scene from "Ashita no Joe" (I'm shirtless because I usually don't use t-shirts at home). I like not only mechas and other mechanical things, but also those bulky armors common in RPG games. I wanted to draw something related and I ended drawing a young lady using a bulky armor.

When you talk about girls + bulky armors, which famous lady from the video games comes to your mind? Yes, Samus Aran, from the Metroid franchise, and her bulky Power Suit, which hides her feminine traits. The "Armored Lady" herself was based on Samus Aran.

The basic idea to the armor's design was something more-or-less medieval, with the concepts of Samus' Power Suit applied on it. The armor has a helmet, but I didn't put here to show the lady's pretty face I drew the armor with "bulkyness" in mind, but also with the intent to give the user some degree of liberty in her movements. Because of that, the "bulkyness" intent was lessened in comparison to the initial idea, but I'm satisfied with the result.

Didn't give her a name yet. Any ideas?

Gosto não apenas de mechas e outras coisas mecânicas. Também adoro aquelas armaduras com visual pesadão, comuns em jogos de RPG. Quis fazer algo parecido e acabei desenhando uma jovem usando uma armadura de visual pesado.

Quando você fala de garotas + armaduras pesadonas que personagem famosa lhe vem à cabeça? Isso mesmo, Samus Aran, da série de games Metroid, e sua Power Suit que esconde seus traços femininos. Tanto que a "Armored Lady" foi baseada na própria Samus Aran.

A idéia básica foi fazer algo com um meio medieval aplicando o conceito da Power Suit da Samus. Um capacete faz parte do conjunto, mas eu quis mostrar o rosto bonitinho da usuária aqui Eu desenhei a armadura pensando em algo com visual pesado, mas que ao mesmo tempo desse um certo grau de liberdade de movimentos para a usuária. Por conta disso, o visual ficou menos pesado do que o planejado inicialmente, mas satisfatório.

Ela não tem um nome ainda. Alguma idéia aí?

A idéia de cada pessoa que se candidatasse continuar a história com uma página de sua autoria me pareceu muito interessante. Resolvi arriscar desenhar uma página de mangá pela primeira vez em muitos anos (uns 2 anos atrás? [link] e [link]). A diferença é que desta vez completei o desenho.

Fiz algo que nunca achei ser capaz... entrei em um berserk motivacional e desenhei esta página em menos de 4 horas!!!

Se eu tivesse essa inspiração pra tudo que faço na vida as coisas iam ser muito mais fáceis...

Before this one, I have started another drawing for 2010's new year theme, but as usual I didn't make it in time. I saw many drawings celebrating the tiger year, so I thought it would have been a good idea if I used this idea before. Then on the last month I saw on the TV that the chinese new year is on 14th of February, so I started to draw this.

Unfortunately, I hadn't finished this one earlier because I had to study for a test. Now that I'm back to the city where I study, I don't have a scanner to scan and do some improvements with the computer. That's why for now I'm sending a snapshot of the drawing with my laptop's webcam. When I get to scan this I will update this deviation.

EDIT: finally finished and scanned the drawing!

Antes de ter feito esta ilustração, eu havia começado um outro desenho com o tema ano novo pra 2010, mas como de costume não terminei a tempo. Andei olhando vários desenhos comemorando o ano do tigre, e andei pensando que poderia ter sido uma boa ter usado essa idéia também. Depois que vi na TV que o ano novo chinês era no dia 14 de fevereiro, eu comecei este desenho.

Infelizmente não terminei antes por causa dos estudos. Agora que estou de volta pra cidade onde estudo, não tenho um scanner à disposição pra escanear e dar um trato na imagem. Portanto por enquanto estou mandando uma foto tosca tirada com a webcam. Quando conseguir escanear o desenho eu atualizarei esta deviation.

EDIT: finalmente finalizei e escaneei o desenho!

I saw a video on nico nico Douga in which a guy was doing some uber awesome ilustrations with Paint. I've got inspired and tried to do something in Paint, and I just noticed how I looked down on the Windows image editor all these years. The drawing is not complete yet, I want to put some nice colors when I have more time.

"OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND!!!!" HOURS ON PAINT!!!

Acabei gastando 4 horas do tempo que eu tinha pra estudar para uma prova da universidade. Ai, ai...

Vi um vídeo no nico nico Douga dum cara fazendo ilustrações incríveis no Paint. Inspirado resolvi tentar, e percebi que subestimei o poder do editor de imagens do Windows durante todos os anos da minha vida. O desenho ainda não está completo, vou ver se consigo colocar uma cor maneira pra ele.

Actually this drawing wasn't intended to be the 5000 PVs thanks drawing, but because I haven't had another lineart ready to colour, I ended up with this one.

Didn't finish in time again

Although I don't have any reasons to comemorate the Valentine's Day (it isn't even an official event here in Brazil), I felt inspirated and had the idea to draw a girl doing this pose, placing the heart-shaped chocolate in the left side of her chest, saying what is written in the title.

Thanks to my sister , who had nothing to do and coloured the eyes and lips and did the blushes.

Novamente não entreguei o desenho à tempo

Apesar de não ter motivos para comemorar o Valentine's Day (nem é evento oficial aqui no Brasil), eu me senti inspirado e tive essa idéia de desenhar uma garota fazendo esta pose, colocando o chocolate em forma de coração no peito esquerdo e dizendo o que está escrito no título.

Agradecimentos à minha irmã , que não tinha nada pra fazer e coloriu os olhos, lábios, e fez o coro na bochecha da garota.

Finalmente terminei este desenho. Eu acabei demorando o dobro do que previa pra terminar. Mas enfim, missão cumprida!
EDIT (2009-02-13): Eu fiz algumas alterações para corrigir erros que encontrei depois.
