This a really old piece way back from Evoke's 18th exhibit: Evoke II. I never uploaded it as it was planned for a side project the group had in mind which never materialised.

Quite strangely, this is being uploaded after a piece from mid-2009, where I have actually made use of the hurricane I vectored all that time ago so I could complete it within the time limit

I did this back in June at the very end of my Graphics A level. Its an advertisement for Alton Towers, the most popular theme park in the UK.

I spent 12 hours on the piece and really enjoyed using a free and almost painterly style in conjunction with the vectors

From early 2009. This was inspired by the Coldplay song of the same name, and was intended to be a part of Evoke's 'Mixtape' release.

However, i never got round to finishing it in time. Even now I'm not convinced it's done but I do enjoy the image, and I hope you do too

Another Epic Logo

_{Concept:

Quite closesly related to my previous design, this mark again makes use of geometric lines mixed with tapered strokes. One possible design variant is the inclusion of the arrow, used to symbolise the deviant name an nature of the site. The logo is designed to be simple and smooth, without unnecesary complications. It also looks pretty nice with a slant, as shown in the mockup.

The typography is sleek and a little futuristic, having customized uneven edges.

_{Concept:

I have taken inspiration from the best features of the 2 logos dA is currently using. I really like the 'geeky', futuristic style of the new one, but it is quite static, and the multiple strokes aren't particularly easy on the eyes.
I've tried to stick to a geometric form without producing something that is a little too 'sci-fi'. As well as rounding the shape, the swooshes give that little bit of extra movement and flow. In effect, it combines the precision of a digital theme with subtle 'artistic' touches.
One thing I haven't liked in dA's logos is the poor legibility of the A. I concentrated on making sure the design is legible, but not simple enough to make it boring or unoriginal.

The typography has been made with a customized serif font, and its design to follow the sleek, modern theme. the gap between the d and t also creates an ideal space for the mark to be placed, as shown on the mockup.

As you can see, a lot of thought and time has been put into this design. I hope you like it as much as I do

Africasia - Exam Piece

_{This is the exam piece I've been working on at college for the past 2 days. I prepared a little beforehand, and then took almost the full 8 hours you're allowed to put it all together and finish it off. I'd imagine I spent about 10-11 hours on it in total.

Its basically 2 travel brochure cover illustrations that merge together at the edges, so they would give a complete spread when aligned together. I only had time to do 2 of the 5 continents ^^.
The split would be just to the left of the sphinx if printed individually.

The main analsysis piece I chose for the project was Moodswings' Tigerheart, so obviously there is a certain resemblance with the style. The style is harder to do than it looks! honest!

Finally able to make something thats of a decent print size! This was done on A3 @ 300dpi, and it looks great stuck on my bedroom wall

_{Done for my latest project for Graphic Design at college.

I was given Jazz as my genre, so I went for the 'electro-jazz' sub-style, and used the kind of shapes you might on a circuit board + lots of geomotric angles to make an abstract that fitted the brief.
I was aiming for something that was bright and in-your-face

Its just printed on cheap card. Colours came out a lot different from the on-screen look, but I think I actually prefer them that way.}
